We were heading through Nederland on our way to Estes Park - it's a little family tradition of ours to stop in Nederland enroute to Estes.
We like to hit some of the little shops and just walk around the quaint town. We normally head around the bend to the Sundance Lodge and Cafe for lunch (another tradition). But this day when we pulled into Sundance Cafe we realized, to our sadness, that it had closed down. So we headed back into town to find a place for lunch.
Hubby pointed out Crosscut Pizza - it looked cozy and inviting so in we went.
Super cozy really cute decor and we were sat down right away. Loved our waitress! Wish I would have got her name. She was so knowledgeable about every single thing on the menu in great detail by the way - and an expert explaining about the different beers. Super great waitress. I really appreciate when the waitress gives much detail about the menu items.
We got the specialty cheese pizza with thick-cut bacon and jalapenos. The cheese seriously was ooey gooey just like a pizza cheese should be. And the crust was done to perfection. Slightly crunchy on the bottom not all doughy at all...perfect crust!
We also got an appetizer... The Roasted Pepper appetizer with lemon aioli. Holy heck they were good!
The waitress told us that out of every ten Peppers there's one pepper that's super super spicy but other than that they're not spicy at all. Well guess what? Hubby got the spicy pepper!!!
He huffed and puffed and worked through it. But in the end he still loved the peppers.
Our family was sad that Sundance Cafe was closed but I do believe we have found a new tradition!
We loved Crosscut pizza and when we're coming through town again on our next trip to Estes will be sure and stop there.

Serving: freshly brewed coffee, espresso drinks, freshly baked pastries, bagel sandwiches, paninis, sweet and savory crepes, fruit smoothies and MORE!
Stoped here on our drive from Boulder to Fort Collins, using the back roads and the peak-to-peak drive.
Nederland is a great little town and this bakery, coffeehouse use is a great place to fuel up for the drive.
We had a coffee and tea and shared a macaroon and cookie and all were very good.
I did have to remind them that I had not paid, they are that laid back.
Spent $15.00 for all.

Visit us in Nederland, gateway to the Indian Peaks, with scenic vistas and fresh mountain air. Relax in our spacious dining room after and enjoy a fresh-cooked Himalayan meal, a cup of chai, or a Nepali beer. Opened in 1999, Kathmandu Nederland is everyone’s favorite.
Great place for some vegetarian cuisine in the mountains. I particularly liked their vegetarian stew. The food isn't spicy and while they will provide a spicy sauce on the side it's more medium than spicy. But, overall it's a decent place in Nederland.

Situated in the elevated alpine town of Nederland, Colorado, Salto Coffee Works offers outstanding coffee, delicious food, beer and wine while radiating the community experience of a small town.
Recommended by a friend. First time for us but staff and customers treated us like regulars. Excellent espresso. Lunch was New Mexican style with tacos, burritos, roasted red and green salsas. My beef tacos were great. Wife's Posole was excellent. She muttered several times how good it was. At least one groan of pleasure.

Always Delicious, Not Necessarily Nutritious. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner; every day 7 am - 9 pm
I was very disappointed in the restaurant. The waitress was very friendly but she was slow. We were ready to order but she was watching the football game so we just waited till she was done. We ran out of water twice and had to wait for a refill. My husband ran out of coffee. She said she would go get some and it took her 10 mins to come back. I asked to replace my son's chips with fruits and she said that's fine. She didn't inform me that they don't do that. I would have to pay the full meal price plus the full price for fruit.
The burger was good but the fries and onions rings were bland.
They do have a changing table but it was a home changing table with a pad. The pad was brown. While I was changing my son a couple bugs came out from under the pad. ( that's the only place I saw I bug the rest of the place was very clean) I told the waitress and she said she was sorry and took off. She went of to the pos and told the other waitresses while she was laughing.
For the first time ever I don't give a tip. I use to waitress so I normally give a big tip if they are good. I felt like the whole trip didn't turn out well. The waitress decided to chase us out of the restaurant to ask about the out service. When my husband explained about our experience she said oh you meant to not leave a tip. She said ok and walked back inside.

We stopped in for a late lunch and we're glad that we chose this place. I had chicken strips with good white gravy and mixed veggies. They were out of mashed potatoes and substituted baby white and purple potatoes, which I enjoyed. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his BLT and fries. (Each meal was about $10.) The food delivery was a bit slow but the waiter was very attentive, kept our glasses filled, and took the time to chat with us, which we enjoyed. The menu was extensive and they have live music at night. Check this place out if you're in Nederland.

My lady & I in Nederland for a few days to do some hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Took a day to chill. Wandered into town and settled down at Happy Trails. Great vibe. Friendly people. Gotta love the skeleton in the bathtub...another story perhaps. Anyway...great coffee, both cappuccino and lattes very very good. Excellent muffins and cookies. Great spot to just hang out for a while.
