The Rhône-Alps town of Morzine is a skier’s paradise, its alpine village atmosphere emphasized by mountain ranges and chalets. Morzine has hosted the Tour de France several times, and is also home to the Avoriaz ski resort, part of the Les Portes du Soleil. The pistes and valleys are the main attractions here, and you may enjoy an après-ski soak in the unique Aquariaz, an indoor tropical waterpark.

A group of 14 of us ate here during a week in Morzine. We booked some weeks in advance. Sometimes group dining in resorts can be a bit ‘average’, yet L’Etale left all of us feeling well fed, excellently looked after and keen to return.
The very busy restaurant is located right in the centre of the busiest part of town and had a really pleasant atmosphere and signs of everyone enjoying themselves. Despite how busy it was, we were never left waiting for service. Our table ordered a range of dishes, from steak tartare, to fillet steak, to Pierrade (hot stone where you cook beef/duck/chicken yourself at the table) and were enjoyed by all. I ate the fillet steak, with morel mushroom sauce, seasonal vegetables and dauphinois potatoes (which were particularly good). It was excellent and at €36, good value for a fillet with morel sauce. The slightly smaller ‘lady’ fillet steak at €28 would have been sufficient.
There is an extensive menu and given our experience, we would happily return when we are next in Morzine.

This place is fantastic! We booked late and they were very helpful when we rang up to accommodate us. The food did not disappoint. We sampled the fondu and raclette and they were amazing. The staff were very polite and made us welcome. Warm atmosphere , great food xx would go back and we are very fussy about your food

Went here on the chalet night off, which is always a really busy night in the town. We were quite a large group and the service was really friendly and helpful. Food arrived quickly and was a good standard. Atmosphere in the restaurant was great and I would definitely recommend it for a large group of varied tastes on a medium budget.

New Bar Restaurant of this winter L PASSAGE on the slope at super Morzine just at undred meter next to bubble lift, beautifull view of the "mont blanc",on the winter take "tretras" slope ,welcom to taste speciality of the région, and have a good time...
+ nice large, clean toilet which is welcome after a long day on the slopes ;).
+ good music and Seating area with decent views.
+ really close to supermorzine so you can stay right up to last lifts.
+ bottle dark draft beer was great. Can't recall where it was from.
+ barman was a dude.
- draft beer was average and not helped by the water used to cool glass down. I really hate the about bars.

Fantastic restaurant, very beautiful inside and nice green area outside with lovely views. Considered the best place for fondue but we had the duck which was absolutely amazing and probably the best entree we had the entire vacation. Service was very professional even though we had 2 little girls with us (they do not have kids dishes but we managed). Creek brûlée also fantastic! Highly recommended!

I thought the idea of opening a bar was to make money by serving food and drinks?
Apparently not, party of 6 well heeled, tired lads wanted a pint before home (10.30pm).
Bar staff was very quiet, got refused ‘we are closing’ then the obvious friends of the staff walked behind us and got several pints.
Now, call me old fashioned but by letting your friends in after turning away, say a spend of over €120 plus, seems a bit daft.
The next night we tried again and the exact same happened but this time the bar was moderately busy.
Never again. Staff had attitude and clearly looked after their pals not the people who pay their wages.
If only the owners knew, they actually do, I suspect.
Shocking

When you look at the Lindaret webcam everyday before heading on your ski trip, to sit at the restaurant you have seen the snow fall around is fantastic. We had a glorious sunny day and were able to text friends back home to see us (and be jealous). The food was quickly delivered -- a great Tartiflette, a salad gourmand with a fantastic selection of cold cuts through to soup. It is not cheap (but what is up the mountain) but great service, great food in a great location. It gets busy o be early. First restaurant on the right as you ski in.

No doubt about it the best value restaurant in the Portes du Soleil. Always busy, always friendly, great service...its our go-to Sunday lunch place for jambon a la broche (on the spit) served with the best dauphinoise and a mound of salad. If you've got room, you can have seconds! plus a delicious tarte...There's always a good plat du jour, the salads are great and the onion soup warming and filling. The portions are huge! Just what a hungry skier wants. There's a big Terrace for when its warm enough, and inside is cosy. Booking recommended. One downside tho' - only one loo, so get there early to avoid a long queue!
