This little bar is at the top of the main street in Vale De Acores. It's always got the TV on like most Portuguese bars, and is well frequented by the locals. It has a large outdoor Seating area at the front which is great in the sun, and parking adjacent. Really nice spot for a relaxing beer or quick snack - they are very limited as it is a bar not a cafe. Landlady is lovely and speaks a little English, we always pop in when we're in the area.

On way from to Trancoso we stopped for lunch. We were the only customers in the large restaurant. The owner was very hospitable even though he didn't speak English. Neither was the menu in English but with some help from his daughter we ordered. We had 3 skewers of grilled tiger shrimp , French fries, rice, green salad and bread and cheese. Everything was fresh and very tasty and including drinks , and coffee and dessert 40 euros. Dessert was chosen from the baked display. It was some kind of a baked sweet egg soufflé- amazing.

The cuisine and the wine at this restaurant was absolutely superb. The food was modern Portuguese, exquisitely prepared and served. Black pig was superb. I did not see many vegetables. The atmosphere is relaxed and the interior well appointed. Rightfully so, they take immense pride in serving wonderful wines from the Bairrada region and the choices were overwhelming. So much wine, such great food, and so little time. This restaurant is a bit pricey, but worth every single escudo.
Don’t tell anyone about it except your seven best friends!

The food was amazing, really. As for the staff, they were terrible. Avoid this at all cost unless you are willing to forget you're a costumer sacrifice service for good food. At some point you'll think you're the waiter and that the staff are your costumers, given the fact that in order to get what you want you almost have to beg them nicely to do their job and help you.

Located in the famous Bussaco Palace Hotel, which you have on trip advisor.
This hotel has the potential for greatness but is lacking competent management. First I will say that the drive into the park in which the Palace is located is breathtaking. Beautiful ancient trees, rare species of plants, manicured Gardens etc. The palace itself is spectacular to behold. As soon as you enter the hotel it is apparent that the inside is not as important to the owners as the outside. The interior structure itself is beautiful but the state of the furniture, carpets, drapes and the dusty smell set our internal alarms off. Of course a smile and a caring attitude from the staff would have helped to quiet the alarms. Unfortunately the staff in the front of house were less than friendly and disinterested. Upon entering our room, which we had to search for, we encountered a nice large room with a very nice bathroom, high ceilings and was well appointed. The room was very warm and had no air conditioning or fans. The inside of the window was covered with gnats. We were told by the front desk staff that we should open the windows and let the gnats out and the air in. Keep in mind that we were on on the top of a small mountain and in a forest, so the nights usually cool down but not this night. Our dinner in the restaurant was very good and the Waitstaff showed a little better training than the front desk. But again the furniture and carpets were worn and not cared for. Breakfast was a highlight and dining on the veranda overlooking the Gardens was very relaxing. There was nothing at this hotel that could not be fixed by strong competent management and a stronger commitment from the owners.

Luso is a Parish of the Municipality of Mealhada and renowed by its mineral waters.. We highly suggest to have a meal at the "Restaurant Lourenços", an excellent Restaurant with a buffet for starter and Deserts. The food is awesome and the service warm and professional. We had the codfish and the super tasty Wellington steak. The portions are big therefore we could not have dessert. We enjoyed the local wine "vinho da casa".
The Restaurant is located in the centre of the village with ample parking place. We will be back for sure!

As we got the visit of a few friends from Belgium, we decided to have a meal at noon in the restaurant “Nova Cidade” in Santa Comba Dão.
We had as a dish of the day the choice in between pork meat (ham), rabbit and fish. Two of us took the rabbit, tree were going for the pork dish and one for the fish. We started with a vegetable soup, than the day dish, than we took a dessert and ended up with a nice cup of coffee. And everybody left the restaurant with satisfaction, so we once again can warmly recommend the service of this restaurant.
