Love their grilled famous fish topped with almonds and mushrooms! Love that it's a fancy place to each but you're welcome in casual attire. Desserts to die for! Beautiful view of Lake Freeman. Staff is so friendly! Can accommodate large groups. Outdoor dining on nice days!

Sycamore is the best place in town to get ice cream treats for the whole family. It's not that expensive and everything is delicious. I've ordered multiple cakes for showers and birthdays here and they are always super cute and tasty. My favorite things to order are a turtle bubba or a maple bun bubba. My husband loves the lemon shakeups. I usually like to grab a couple of frozen pints to take home. They make all of their food and treats to order so be prepared to sit for a bit in the drive-thru. The line is usually pretty long as well so don't go if you're in a hurry.

Excellent selection, excellent quality, friendly staff. I highly recommend. They've made me enjoy pastries I usually would *NEVER* eat. The earlier you go, the better. Enjoy!

My wife and I were on the final leg of a Knoxville TN to Rapid City SD and back roadtrip loop - coming from visiting relatives in IL. Along the way we found a number of beautiful waterside locations - this spot looked to be in that spirit. It was the Sunday before July 4 and the area and this establishment were quite busy - but they managed to seat us quickly and explained they were a bit short staffed and some patience may be needed. Our view of the river was beautiful. Our waitress and the staff did a fine job and kept themselves and us in good humor. My catfish dinner was delightful - fresh and clean tasting ; my wife's baked potato, accompanying her steak, was a bit suspicious, when we called this out they immediately replaced it and all was good. It turned out to be a fine and memorable choice for our last couple's dinner on the road.

John's donuts were always a tradition when we went to Lake Shafer with my grandpa. He always said they were the best on the lake. We went back for the first time in almost 20 years this weekend, and they were just as good as ever.

Oakdale Dam Inn is a casual dining family restaurant. We are located on the beautiful Tippecanoe River adjacent to Oakdale Dam which forms Lake Freeman. We serve only USDA Choice hand cut steaks, Fresh USA Farm Raised Catfish, Center Cut Pork Loins, a large variety of appetizers, and have over 20 Draft Beers on Tap and 60 bottled beers in stock. Open for Lunch and Dinner Tuesday - Sunday.
On the jukebox, "Sweet Home Alabama" bumped out a friendly vibe. The noon crowd was about average, and outside the restaurant, the roar of the dam kept up a soothing background note. The dog was the problem. If it wasn't for the blasted dog, it'd...MoreThank You So Much for the kind words and the chuckle..... Heather enjoyed it too ! See You Wednesday. Leslie.

The cheeseburger came with a cup of ham and bean soup, which was the highlight of the meal. The mushroom and Swiss burger was a hearty patty with a fresh kaiser bun. The French fries were over cooked and could have used a fresh change of oil.

This little gem is right down the road from where I work. My favorite is the All American Burger & Fries, but their menu and daily specials are always tempting as well. Super friendly and everything is fresh and cooked to order. Prices are great for the quality you're getting!

I am only giving a rating of 1 because of the waitress who was attentive, to some extent.
The food was horrible! I ordered a skillet, which was served in a bowl and cold. The potatoes were under-cooked, my "over-easy" eggs were overcooked and greasy. My husband had the "buffet" when he broke apart a piece of chicken, it was red and raw....needless to say, neither of us finished our meals and left promptly.

I liked the feeling of this place as soon as I walked in. It is nothing fancy but that is part of the good hometown feeling. I asked for a recommendation on a pizza and was totally caught off guard by one of the two suggestions. Taco Pizza. I got it and I enjoyed it. I have never seen this before and love to try new things when I'm traveling. It had pizza sauce mixed with taco sauce, taco meat, cheese and was topped with lettuce, tomato and taco chips! It came with sour cream and more taco sauce on the side. The novelty and uniqueness of this can't be beat. I would definitely eat here again and would be more than willing to try out their other pizzas.
