We visited this restaurant in Revnice with Czech friends, who had been recommended it for traditional Czech food. It isn't the most glamorous place but the staff were really friendly and couldn't have been more attentive. They automatically brought menus in English as well as Czech without us having to ask (we were amazed they had menus in English at all).
The menu is varied and the portions are very generous. Not a huge choice for veggies but not bad. I had the traditional Kuladja soup (mushroom, dill, cream and potatoes) which was delicous and our main courses included a traditional pork knuckle, fried cheese and goulash.
We had our 5 year old god-daughter with us and there is a nice play area for children (and the staff were incredibly tolerant of her wandering about). The weather wasn't great but there seems to be a small garden and the restaurant is about 2 mins walk from the station.
Perhaps not a reason to visit Revnice - but if you are there (and it seemed a pretty village) - certainly worth a visit.

Common czech simply local restaurant almost next to castle (from castle turn left and go on way a slight hill) with average food level and beverage level and pleasant service. Prices are OK. Advantage is own parking in compare to looking for parking on the square.

Visited here after recommendation from my parents :) - ordered the bruschetta and gnocchi to finish. Lovely atmosphere - choice of non smoking and smoking. Bruschetta was lovely portion size - soup also very good. Would love to have tried a pizza. Maybe next time.

the restaurant was extremely well decorated and looked the part. Having said that we were the only customer. The food was great. out arrived quickly after being ordered and the mushroom sauce on the steak was excellent. The potatoes were well presented and tasty.

We came there upon a recommendation and it was way better then we expected! The beer is great, and the food as well. However, the waiters seem unhappy, definitely not liking their job. But this is quite normal in Czech. They also refused bringing us tap water.

The place has a great calm atmosphere with ambient music. The waitress was very sympathetic and smiling. The service wasn't fastest one but it belongs to such calm place. Their coffee is pretty good, also hot cocoa was yummy. We appreciated spacious playroom with heaps...MoreThanks for your review. I knew, we can be faster and we are trying this. But I promise, we will not change our quality :)

Very good restaurants. Excellent meat assortment, very delicious dishes. The prices are really cheap as well, for 4 adults+4 children(including drinks and beers) we paid 1650 KC Highly recommended!!

Hosted function of 20+ of our family & friends, this coffee has it all - friendly owner, great offerings at reasonable prices and it is well positioned in centre of city. Focusing on traditional Czech cuisine you will find great seasonal specials as Czech Buchta (baked yeast dumpling with sweet prune filling) and soups as Celeriac or Butternut. Loots of toys for your little one to be lost while you sip your cappuccino. Must-try-in-town!

We were looking for an "out of the beaten track" restaurant, something not for tourists in our way to Karlstejn, so we look in tripadvisor for somewhere to have lunch, and we found this place. We thought we could taste the real czech cuisine, but this was not exactly what we were looking for...
I ordered some grill mix that consisted of pork strips with a spicy sauce, green and red pepper stripes, and onions poached in oil, with cheese melted on top and the traditional bamboráky (golden fried potato pancakes). It was good but tasted more indian than czech... My boyfriend ordered a beef steak with onions and czech sausage... the meat was excessively overcooked and it had a cheese slice melted on top of it that was not very good.
We weren't very sure about what we were really ordering, there was an english translation but it was not very accurate.
The place was very cosy, the staff was very nice and tried to make themselves understood and we could get along and we found it really nice of them.
The meal was really cheap.
There was a family and a lone man having lunch in absolute silence.
Maybe this is a normal restaurant there but we expected a more traditional cuisine.

Tradional food isn't for everyone. Fortunately, this place has some reasonable alternatives.
It's also reasonably priced, and with its fine al fresco views, on a fine day it's a very pleasant experience.
As with all al fresco dining in Czechia, you'll need some arrangement with the local wasps!
