A local favorite with a unique Appalachian Trail atmosphere and friendly staff. All your favorite breakfast foods and a few specialty dishes like the Millinocket Special. Home-made doughnuts, muffins and English muffins made daily. Our lunch menu has many options for all diets. We offer a local Maine farm grass-fed burger, all natural chicken, salads, specialty sandwiches, and everyone loves our Black Bean Burrito. Stop by and see why our motto is "Friends Gather Here...where the Trail meets the town".
The Appalachian Trail Cafe is located on Penobscot street in downtown Millinockett. Opens at 5am with piping hot coffee and fresh food. All I had were some scrambled eggs, potatoes and toast which was delicious and more than enough for me. The menu is pretty extensive. They also bake homemade and fresh muffins and donuts every morning. Enjoy!

Discover award winning dining in a relaxed setting with menu choices ranging from pub offerings to gourmet cuisine - all prepared by our in-house chefs with the most discerning foodie in mind. Whether you are planning a romantic dinner for two, a family get-together of fun, or a large group function - River Driver's diverse menu of freshly prepared food is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Situated on Millinocket Lake with dramatic and ever changing views of Katahdin, River Driver offers an unparalleled regional dining experience. Arrive early and ask one of our talented bar tenders to mix up one of our seasonal beverages or to suggest a craft beer or fine wine from our extensive selection.
There are inside tables and outside seating. The lake is nearby and makes a great setting at the outdoor tables. The menu is not terribly creative, but what we had was well prepared and served. Wine selection less than great and somewhat overpriced.

The Scootic inn is a good restaurant with a full bar, large dinning room and very extensive menu. Good appetizers, large fresh salads, fresh seafood (whole lobsters) and much more. I highly recommend trying their haddock nuggets. Very tasty. Prices are very reasonable given the portion size and where it's located in rural Maine. Enjoy!

We recently had the pleasure of having dinner at the restaurant with a large party. Tuesday night specials include buy one get one 1/2 off pizzas. Our table ordered a variety of appetizers and pizzas. The standout was the taco pizza...delicious!!!! Really friendly staff. Clean, comfortable atmosphere.

Our hotel directed us here, glad they did. Very fresh Greek salad ( large enough for 2 to share). Hubby had a calzone, which had artfully folded crust, and yummy ingredients. Pizza was also really good, from the crispy crust to the fresh toppings.
Great food at the end of a Long day in Baxter State Park hiking.
Not fancy, but great food.

The Boatman's Bar and Grill is a relaxed and fun dining atmosphere with a variety of menu options including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. Check out Taco Tuesday and Thursday Wing Night as well as the daily specials! The lively atmosphere could find you joining in on karaoke on Friday nights or dancing to live music on Saturday nights! Come watch the game on the big screen or check out the footage from today's exciting whitewater rafting adventure. It's all happening here at The Boatman's Bar & Grill!
We go from time to time for Taco Tuesday, and always have a good time. Pricing is far less than it could be -- and no, that's not a hint to raise prices! :-) Quite casual, which is always good on a warm summer night....MoreHi WomanWithAnIssue! Thank you for your review and for taking the time to write one. We are pleased to hear that you enjoy Taco Tuesday as well as the staff and atmosphere at the Boatman's. Thank you for your continued patronage as well!!

We sat in a lovely old room with dark mismatched furniture, full of character. Food was tasty and there was plenty of choice. Owned by the logging family who run the restaurant in Millinocket.

Just what you need for the trail or campground. I love these old general stores, and this one captures the essence of Baxter and Katahdin. Prepared food and packaged food. Firewood, ice, supplies and souvenirs. Stop in and brows or get just what you need. A very helpful staff as well.

This restaurant is attached to a small (10 room) hotel. We would not have known about this place unless we were told by a local. We had a very enjoyable meal, and the waitstaff was very friendly and "chatty" about the area. Very reasonably priced. Many locals eat here. The best meal on our 2-day stay in the area.

McDonalds always good for fries, coffee, cheeseburger. It was also a common meeting place when we joined our fellow adventurers to Mt Katahdin.
