We were very positively surprised by Galaxy. Metsovo is ultra touristic mountain location so we were a bit hesitant about the place. It is rather old fashioned local restaurant but personnel were very polite, tablecloths were really were spot clean and most importantly food was really tasty. Very nice experience overall

We came across this place by accident, while on a road trip holiday of Greece and the whole experience was fantastic. Saloni means living room or lounge in English and this place is traditionally decorated in the historically Turkish influenced style of the area following 400 years of Turkish occupation.
The interior was fantastic and the food was even better. The lamb kleftico with potatoes was wrapped in light filo pastry, and it melted in the mouth. Absolutely delicious just like the oven baked saganaki suprise, a mixture of feta and four other cheeses cooked in a clay bowl, topped with thin slices of tomato.
This restaurant offered a complete dining experience; atmospheric surrounding, beautifully cooked, top quality, fresh, local produce and professional, friendly service.
I feel lucky to have found this place and if we ever return to Metsovo, we will definitely go to this restaurant again.

We visited this small taverna/kafenion during our stay in Metovo, It is situated in the small village of Anylio close to Metovo, The food in delicious. Do not espect somrthing special, it is very simple, but it is definately worthwhile to go to eat there at least once.
The lamb chops are phantastic and the pommes frites are home made.

Taverna Aspasia, village of Votonosi, Municipality of Metsovo Open daily except Monday - Tuesday (10:00 - 22:00) Open festive holidays (10:00 - 22:00)
For people looking for good food and local delicacies this is the place for you. Away from noisy Metsovo (with the awful food) this tavern has it all; excellent meat, tasteful cheese and good wine all of which from local producers in the area. They even have their own oregano that they use in their dishes. The lady that owns the place with her son and the cook are extremely friendly and well mannered. Don't forget at the end to try the carrot dessert (with yogurt or without) they make by themselves.
Thank you for the great food!

We stopped here by chance in our way to Volos. Chose the restaurant on a whim...and were extremely delighted. The food is excellent, served on greaseproof paper adding to the characteristic experience. The succulent tastes, location and family who run it made it such an excellent experience that we returned again on our way back.

The restaurant is located behind the Bank of Ethiki, 30m approximately off the square.
A typical stone and wood building and interior with plenty of space but not a cozy interior one would expect.
Several friends from our group found seats here and had kokoresti and pork steak with salad.
When we met and each was discussing how they liked their meals, they said that taste was once again average and they expected more. Metsovo is supposed to be the place where one would enjoy meat dishes especially on the spit.
They mentioned the red house’s wine though that is was at least good.
Typical local service, no dessert for the end …something that the majority of restaurants offer elsewhere.
Smoking is not prohibited here, the entire room was full of the ugly smell of cigarettes....so have this in mind too.

Traditional Tavern '' ARXONTIKO '' in Metsovo. A traditional room with fireplace, stone and wood, you prefigures overlooking breathtaking, greets friends who prefer the unique flavors. With traditional Greek cuisine and local wine and raki is the best hangout for kalofagades. Rich dishes with starters, meats cooked on the grill, kontosouvli metsovitiko, burgers, sausage, skewer, food time and pies, accompanied by salads will provide a memorable enjoyable dining experience, all made with pure ingredients from the hands of the Lady Helen Dasoula ....
We met with friends who recommended this restaurant. Well it was excellent all through out. The food was delicious and the barrel red wine excellent. We spent around four hours without a problem. The dessert of halva in the ladokolla was out of this world, not to be missed.

This came highly recommended by the locals to eat here and met all our expectations. Everything was fresh and tasted all high quality food. Large portions, local wine, and the leanest, best tasting rack of lamb we have had. Don't miss dining here. If there is a line it would be worth the wait although we were immediately served with very friendly owners.

Before having a stroll in the village as soon as we got off the coach we were scattered and started walking here and there.
We came across this bakery which looked nice from the shop window and with some friends dropped in for a cheap early meal.
I highly recommend their spinach and cheese pies!
