This is a great place to eat. Lovely helpful staff, varied menu, staff very attentive to hubby's chilli allergy. Food was plentiful and delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. House red was good but the white was a little bit thin. Three of us had 3 courses, less than £100 with one bottle of wine and carafe.

It must have been ages since the heydays of Danny Leung as this restaurant looked dilapidated, dreary and deserted; only a few tables were occupied on a Saturday evening.
Despite our rock-bottom low expectations the usual formula of Dutch-Chinese dishes from chicken satay to omelette with tomato sauce were pretty decent. Nothing close to spectacular, but well-prepared and reasonably fresh.
The service was homey and the bill came to 47 Euro including beer and mineral water. Likewise decent.

A trattoria is a place to go for a drink and fair fresh Italian cuisine. The restaurant looks modern and features a beautiful bar for a drink or a real Italian espresso. In addition to our atmospheric restaurant, we have a beautiful terrace; Sit in the sun with a fragrant scent to apple and pear glass of wine, the smell of fresh pasta, and Italian bread give you the ultimate holiday feeling !! Outside the Terrace and restaurant we have several private rooms, on the first floor a hall with its own bar, roof Terrace and another beautiful view making it ideal for a party or meeting. We also have more meeting rooms.
Ate there twice in one week. Staff generally friendly and helpful. Food very tasty. The lamb and entrecote are exquisite. The cheesecake still needs some attention.

Had a nice dinner here with my international colleagues. They have an English menu! The owner speaks English very well.
The design inside reminds me of medieval times and with the fire place upstairs (restaurant) and downstars (bar) it is really cosy. The starters were all very good. Main course: I had the tournedos, very good quality meat! The sauce that came with it was not really what I liked personally. Tournedos was E28,50. Not a cheap place (water bottle E5,50), but the price is in my opinion not overrated. Only remark can be made on the amount of staff. Might be better to have a little more people. When we wanted to pay (was a sunday evening), I had to walk to the counter after waiting for around 10 minutes without seeing anyone. Not annoying, just an improvement.

Was taken here by family who live in nearby Enkhuizen. Unlikely venue in an imaginatively converted church in the shadow of the large dike protecting the village of Andijk from the Zuiderzee. Inside has soothing candlelight and nice convivial ambience despite the large space. The part of the menu we chose involved choosing 4 or more dishes (of which one can be a dessert if I remember correctly) from a gourmet menu of about 10 dishes. Portions are appropriately sized for this and allow you to sample a wide range of interesting dishes in one meal. Was a great meal all round with excellent and relaxed service and the attention to detail that can make a meal special. Was there for lunch on a wet summer's day but think it would be even more atmospheric for dinner. They also do a few specialist main dishes - lobster, turbot, tenderloin etc. and have Gillardeau oysters. Expect you would need to book ahead. Well worth a visit!

Most eateries in Medemblik were concentrated down the main street, or at a bottleneck next to the lifting bridge and so were rather crowded tourist traps. We saw signs to a Portugese restaurant and so followed these along the side of the harbour basin to find a much quieter Terrace with a nice view of the boats.
You can have a full Portuguese meal here but also tapas, or as we did, just sandwiches. There wasn't much by way of vegetarian food on the menu so my partner had a goats cheese Sandwich, but I had the pleasure of a speciality Portuguese pork Sandwich. The pork was marinated in a very tasty mix of herbs and was delicious washed down with a glass of white wine!
A nice quiet spot to watch the boats sail into harbour and if the sun is shining you won't move far!

We did not eat a meal here but stopped in for some cake and coffee. WOW! The apple cake was really good but if you want a real treat, be sure to order a slice of the homemade butter cake/torte. It was absolutely incredible - a delicately crispy sugary top covering a rich, flavorful dense tort-like cake. Unfortunately, the butter cake was devoured before a picture could be snapped! The cappucinos were just perfect - not to strong, not too hot. Service was excellent. If you are in town, it is worth the effort to stop in just to try their butter cake and get a nice view of the locals and boaters going by. Hope this review helps during your visit to town, pls click yes if it was useful to you...

What an experience. Truly delicious. A wonderful concept. They should change their name to "Onwijs" Lekker. You can order as many courses (portions) as you want for the same price.. From Appetizers to Entree. Dessert is additional but equally delicious. Just keep your silverware! All courses (portions) are served Tapa style and you are given enough time between courses to relax and to allow the food to digest. The Staff is friendly and polite. Do make a reservation, they are extremely busy, even during the week. Allow me to also mention the nice outdoor Terrace on the water. Loved it! ps: during the week, they close at 22H00 (10:00 PM)

Overlooking the harbor from the Terrace or the spacious restaurant, this place is a great location. Enjoy your pre-dinner drinks at the Terrace behind glass to protect you from the wind. The service is very friendly and the dishes are well prepared and mostly local ingredients. Advisable to make Reservations, as this place is well frequented by the locals. No parking hassles, maybe you have to find your way through some parked yachts, but space is ample. They serve good house wines and also have an ample wine menu. We took the 4 course surprise menu, and were indeed pleasantly surprised. Prices in line with location and quality.
