We stopped in for lunch one day and really enjoyed everything we had. The special was cordon Bleu sandwich with soup and it was excellent and unexpectedly on a croissant. We also had fancy coffees which rival any coffee chain. Nice homey atmosphere and friendly staff. Will come again when in the area.

This little shop in McGregor (just west of the 4-way stop at Hwy 65 and Hwy 210) is sure to please! The fresh baked bread is great.....Try the honey corn - it is fabulous! If you are in the mood for some sweets, the cherry danish is to die for. The muffins are also terrific...I recommend the orange-cranberry. Yum! If it is lunch that you are looking for, McGregor Baking Company usually has a soup and sandwich combo that you will want to try. Anything you have will be delicious!!! I live locally, and it is my favorite spot for breakfast or lunch.

Homemade bread, homemade bread pudding, great coffee, always happy after a breakfast here. The walls are decorated with 'Dick and Jane' and old school memories. Locals love it also. Ice cream is also available for those time when you need a cone!

Sit outside and enjoy the lake. With that view, the food comes second.
Have had nachos and the Angler walleye sandwich. The Angler made me sick overnight, but two others at the table were fine. Decent fries and steak salad, adequate quesadilla.
Breakfast is a hearty, calorie laden affair, but the egg scrambles were very good. Bloody Mary's can be spiced up, just ask!
Staff is wonderful. Weekends, they can be harried, but usually friendly. Sit in Dawn's section if she's on.
Bartenders always great.

Nice restaurant, very clean and well-kept. The menu, although heavily Mexican, has lots of good fare for all who come. The view from the deck is beautiful overlooking the river connecting the two Lakes. Would recommend this for all families for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is a nice stop on a very Scenic Northern Minnesota highway.

On a Thursday my wife and I decided to go out for a really nice lunch, and after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor decided to drive the 31 miles to try the broiled shrimp that another person on here had described as wonderful. When we arrived, the lunch menu only listed a fried shrimp basket, but our wonderful waitress said she would go ask the chef if he would start the broiler and prepare the broiled ones for us as we had traveled quite a ways to try them. He did, and they were fabulous. We have not had any better since getting them fresh from the Gulf in Florida! The rest of the meal was equally good, we each had a wonderful fresh, crispy salad which included lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, onions, carrots. The Bleu cheese dressing was full of large cheese chunks. I choose tater tots and my wife had baked potatoes which were both done to perfection. Our service was second to none. We can see why folks travel many miles for the pleasure of dining here.

Although the decor is extremely dated and dark, the reception we got was warm and welcoming. The staff seemed genuinely pleased to serve us and educated about their restaurant.
The food was tasty; however I was disappointed (being a pescetarian, or vegetarian that eats fish) about the lack of clarity on the menu. I ordered fish with mixed vegetables, thinking I'd be safe, only to take a big bite of vegetables and find that there were bacon bits sprinkled on the dish. Really disappointing that this was not communicated on the menu.
Overall I would come back, but be more cautious and educated about the menu options.

We were surprised to find out Mark's Bar served food. We stop at the gas station next to Mark's Bar every time we go to McGregor but never knew the bar also served food. The menu is fairly extensive and the food is great. Down-home atmosphere and our server was wonderfully funny. Very good Reuben and French Dip sandwiches. The wings are HUGE and a meal by themselves. One of our party had the broasted chicken and it smelled great. He said it was very good. I'll be ordering that next time.

Staff is super friendly. Even changed one tv to European soccer for my husband last month. My mom loves chop suey on Sunday. Dad likes burrito night. Sis can't eat here, the salads are pretty basic with a condiment packet for dressing. If you like...MoreThank you.
