Enroute to Memphis along the Purchase Parkway, I exited at Mayfield looking for a place to take a lunch break. Chow 45 looked interesting being in an old house and also has an interesting name. Well decorated interior, very comfortable environs, pleasant waitstaff, excellent coffee, delicious food. I thoroughly enjoyed my Fried Green Tomato BLT with a side of cheesy grits. Highly recommend.

The Catfish House specializes in serving pond raised Catfish whether it be catfish fillets, catfish steaks or catfish fiddlers. We even carry imported catfish also known as basa or swai fish from Asia. We have butterfly shrimp as well and serve chicken tenders and hamburger steaks and hamburgers for our land lovers. Our unique way of doing hush-puppies is of legend status, you will have to try them for yourself to see all the fuss. Our recipe for fish breading is also unique for our area, a little hint of New Orleans in there. Our chicken tenderloins are hand breaded served with choice of sauce. Every entree dinner we serve is always served with all you can eat slaw , white beans and hush-puppies ! You won't be disappointed and you won't go away hungry!
Happened upon this place after a recommendation from a local. I am always hesitant of catfish places because, for me, it seems finding a good one is like finding a needle in haystack. But this place was awesome. I had catfish. It was fried just...MoreThank you for the wonderful review, we will work on the fries!

Was in Mayfield KY this looked like a good place to eat. Gave the buffet a try, very nice inside. Food was good and plenty on the buffet. Ice cream was very good and the Chocolate Cake was very good too.

Good Mexican food is hard find unless you are in Texas (in my opinion). We now live in SC and have traveled across the states numerous times. Now we found this place on trip advisor and very pleased. Nice interior and wait staff. Chips and salsa was good as well as the margaritas. The shrimp and jalapenos dish was outstanding and a large portion. The price was great. We visit this area once a year and will be back for sure. Excellent.

There are little joints like this dotted around the country that are just as much about the novel experience as the food they serve. In our town of Murray, KY, it's the outdoor-only seasonal DQ where crowds line up & picnic tables in the fresh air is the dining area. Same with Dairy Hill in Mayfield. We've probably been 5 times by now. (We rarely go to Mayfield so I can recall each visit.) Their hand-dipped corn dogs take center stage for me. So delicious. Yesterday, however, we were just stopping by for ice cream. I got a Flavor Burst cone. These are vanilla ice cream cones with a swirl of flavor going through it. When I had asked what it was, the young girl answered and also quickly listed the many choices of flavor swirl I could choose. I settled on the one that caught my taste bud's attention - black cherry. A nice sweet ending to our jaunt in the neighboring town of Mayfield.

Nothing fancy inside but by far the best fish dinners in the lakes area. Hands above willow pond or catfish kitchen. Service excellent, food hot fresh and delicious. Line out the door but only waited about 15 minutes on a Friday night. Well worth the wait. Had wonderful pecan and coconut pies for dessert. Only place we will go to get our fish dinner from now on. Next visit will try the prime rib, or bourbon glazed salmon. Can't wait!

This is a review of the business, not the food. We were in Mayfield Kentucky and looking for a place for lunch. We decided to give the Happy House a try. There were several cars in the parking lot, so we parked and walked to the front door. We entered and was asked by one of the staff if we were there for the party. We replied, no, just there for lunch. It was at this moment that things went down hill. She, in a very indignant tone said "We have a party going on and if you are not part of the party we cannot serve you. We are closed to the public today" That was it, nothing more. So we turned around and walked out the door. I will not go back again. Business owners get one chance to make a good first impression and they failed. Business owners must realize that in the long run people will not always remember what you say, but they will remember how you make them feel and we felt very unwelcome.

We experiences Snappy's Tomato Pizza Company for the first time recently. The pizza was pretty good but made with inexpensive ingredients. It reminded my wife and I both of CiCi's Pizza. Although you can order from a menu, their All-You-Can-Eat pizza & salad & dessert is clearly their "bread & butter". If you are looking for a reasonable priced "family fill-up" this is a pretty good choice.
