This taberna was recommended by the kind folks at the Hotel Doñana Blues, as it is close by. It's part of a small strip of restaurants and shops. The fellow running the service was very friendly and accommodating. His recommendations were on the spot for what we wanted. The plates were simple, but using quality products, and quite inexpensive.

This restaurant was one of few open during our winter visit to Matalascanas. We had been waiting half hour just for order food and then next 45 minutes for food. There was only one waiter... Food was averege nothing really special. I cant understand how this restaurant can have so good rating. I definitly will not go there again.

The food is high quality versions of many traditional Spanish Bar/ Restaurant foods. But the quality is much better than normally found. They use unique ingredients to make thier dishes special. Even the croquetas are special, the ones with cola de toro could not have had more meat, almost expected a bone in the center! Thier flamequin with white asparagus and an almond salsa (turron type flavor to salsa...amazing) was great. Only drawback is they have few tapas, mainly racions. Tapas work better for children, but that is a choice, so my marks are still high for them. Been before, will go again.

A wonderful setting in the middle of Park Doñana. Grant quality of food. The fish was amazing and the paella were marvellous. My favourite plate must have been the black paella with 'carabinero'. Really worthwile! the price-quality relationship is great!

Nice lunch with the family and at a very reasonable price.
Shared some "tortillas de camarones" followed by black rice with squid. I would recommend the rice dish. Swordfish on the kids menu was appreciated.
Waiter was helpful and friendly without being overbearing.
Was quite busy for Sunday lunch considering its early in the season, (late April).

You will not be disappointed if you go to here. The very friendly welcome truly was exceptional. The restaurant is family owned for over fifty years and they have 'got it right'. Eat in the lovely courtyard or inside in the huge restaurant. There is a menu on a lectern for all to browse before sitting and for those who do not speak any Spanish or very little the lovely waiter is only too willing to test his English. If you cannot understand the munu the lovely waitress (they are all owners) will take you by the hand and lead you into the ultra-clean kitchen where you can see the food for yourself before you choose. This also lets you know just how proud they are of their cleanliness. The menu is three course at a fixed price which you will find very reasonable. Include a bottle of wine to compliment your meal as wine too is very reasonable. The food is typical Spanish and we started with the home made soup...delicious. My wife had the fish which as we are right by the sea was probably caught that very morning as it looked and tasted so fresh. I had the Iberian pork loin...Lomo...and Potatas Fritas...chips. Delicious and so well presented. Dessert or Postra, was also very good which, with the friendliness of the staff and the presentation of the food made this restaurant an excellent choice for us. Plenty of parking in the street outside or you can catch a local bus. From here you can also walk to the small town where you will find everything you would want to find including a hairdressers for men and women. You will find this restaurant as it is just past the Guadia Civil station and the restaurant building is painted white. Do try it as we highly recommend it.
