Authetic Bavarian Restaurant
Authentic German place run by authentic Germans with authentic German food.
But not heavy. Perhaps some of the dishes are the traditional heavy German fare but there is a lot on the menu that is not. Also, sandwiches. Note, we were here for lunch and it is possible that the dinner menu is significantly different but I doubt it.
Prices were quite reasonable.
Great (authentic) German beers on draught.
We will be back. Double-check opening hours and closed days before you go.

We had the combo platter for four. Platter included sliced brisket, pulled pork, slab of baby backs. Four sides were included. Cole slaw, beans, chips and pickles. All were excellent! Corn bread is very good. Nice selection of beer. The Blues plays in background.
We'll definitely go back!

Don't travel this area often but had passed through about 35 years ago and discovered this bakery. Delicious baked goods then and more delicious items so many years later oatmeal cookies 26 cents!,, Bismarcks with a variety of fillings, long johns, donuts, cakes, breads, strudels, cute decorated cookies, pastries galore, my favorite cream filled pastry horns, cheese cakes, peanut squares, and they'll make wedding and specialty cakes to order. There's a coffee pot if you need some caffeine to keep you out of a sugar coma. Such fun and deliciousness to find this small business has prevailed
for so many years. It's only a couple of miles off interstate if you're traveling toward St Louis-worth the time to get a break from traveling. And the employees were so patient and accommodating. Very reasonable prices.

We like their pizza, we go there from time to time. But it's an acquired taste. Its always busy. The service is excellent. But be aware, the pizza, unless ordered special. Will usually have ingredients which will surprise. Like potatoes or mango or fig. Some...MoreThanks for the great review Armin! We appreciate your business and your feedback. Hope to see you again soon!

If you like pizza you must try Papa Vitos in downtown Belleville, IL. The sauce if one of a kind. Plus the ingredients are extremely fresh and tasty. Do your self a favor and buy a bottle of their Italian salad dressing.

Earlier in August, we enjoyed a celebration in the backroom at Reifschneider's in Freeburg. Our aunt celebrated her 90th birthday and one of the nieces was also celebrating. My sister had reserved the backroom several months earlier and about 2 weeks before the event, we ordered the food items for our after party dinner. The back room accommodates about 50 people. The service provided primarily by Arianna was outstanding. Many compliments of her accommodating many different drink orders (which were paid individually). The food was fantastic (although they put it our earlier than we wanted due to a communication miscue). We enjoyed three different salads, Cajun pasta, mac and cheese, pulled pork, green beans, chicken parm, and rolls. A great place to celebrate and dine. Highly recommend Reifschneider's!

Stopped at my favorite Mascoutah bar and grill after the homecoming festivities Saturday night. Low and behold my favorite bartender Destin was working. Destin always makes me smile when I stop in Skooters, and she pours a beer like no other. I normally order the killer wings, but I was stuffed from the homecoming.

Been driving by for a long time, finally decided to stop and eat. Now we are kicking ourselves for stopping sooner. Awesome food and excellent prices. Heard they were known for fried chicken, so that's what he had. Now, I will say that it was not the best friend chicken I've ever had in my life, but it definitely ranks up there. Tender, juicy, and oh so flavorful. Could not believe the prices, WOW, much lower that I expected, which is a good thing. Everything was homemade and delicious. Staff were friendly and we were treated like family. A must stop if you are in the New Baden area.

Fantastically amazing BBQ! Looking for something that’s not the norm? This is the place. Duroc pork, Wagyu brisket. You’ve never had BBQ like this. This was my first visit and I can’t wait to make it back again! Hell, the Brussel sprouts were out of this world! Keep up the great work Beast!
