We ordered combo platter (choose 3 items) with two sides and also a small platter meal. We both ate some of everything (salmon, fried Catfish, grilled shrimp, baked stuffed potato, sweet potato w/ marshmallows, fried pickels, grilled catfish, and coleslaw. It was all fantastic....I did think coleslaw was a tiny bit spicy, but I don't like spicy. DH loved it! I would love to go back and try their other dishes....if they are anything like what we got...this place is a winner. Another plus is pricing and very reasonable. Waitstaff very helpful and friendly. Service a bit slow, but we were there on a Saturday night, so I was not surprised.

Owner's name is Woinee Mariam. Great owner and great restaurant!
This place is a secret gem. Good, authentic Ethiopian food is one thing the Austin area doesn't have a lot of. But luckily there's Taste of Ethiopia. Great lunch buffet with consistent, quality food that is delicious. It also has a fun atmosphere that only adds to the good food. Definitely worth the drive if you're not close by.

We enjoyed a meal at this uniquely decorated restaurant. Chicken fried steak could be purchased in 4 oz or 8 oz sizes, along with side of fries, Texas toast, and a side salad. The chicken tender basket meal was delicious--5 tenders, white gravy, Texas toast and exchanged fries for onion rings. All well seasoned, and many fried items, so pace yourself! Staff was super nice.

Went in and was impressed with the selection. Ordered a lemon-filled donut. When we got home, I noticed that the taste was a bit off...kinda cinnamon/lemon...and mentioned it to my husband. He mentioned that he saw one of the employees take an apple-filled donut into the back. The same employee came back out with a lemon-filled donut a minute later that was then put into our bag. So, that appeared to account for the cinnamon-lemon taste of the donut. Haven't been back since. It's a shame since I would like to support a small, family business.

Just chanced by this little cafe on Easter Sunday driving thru West Texas. The owner and staff went out of their way to give me a great bbq chicken plate, even though they were just about to close for the rest of the day for the holiday. Ask for Esmeralda’s green Verde salsa, really good! Get off Interstate 10 drive into Sheffield just little ways, good home style cooking and great friendly folks!

Cafe 290 has been serving fresh food prepared Daily since 1947. Now we are serving Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner every day. We have also added some Tex-Mex Specialties to the menu.
We have been going here for over 20 years. We love their onion rings and Chuckies Chicken Fried Chicken. Always the best....I have been there once for breakfast and the Migas were to die for.

Always a great place to get a burger. We often visit Liz for breakfast tacos or a lunch time burger. Liz is always joyful and excited to see you as she cooks or prepares your order.
Give Liz’s grill a try.. I am confident you will come back and see her.

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Lake Travis because of the TripAdvisor reviews and they did not lie! Their pizza and wings were delicious. I ordered the Flying Garlic pizza and it had loads of roasted cloves of garlic on a butter garlic sauce with chicken and spinach. My husband ordered a meaty pizza and my nephew ordered a bacon cheeseburger and they both thought they were awesome, too. The wings are very meaty, too. Definitely worth a stop in. If we weren't driving on, I would have had a nice craft beer, too. Oh, and they also have natural sodas with no high-fructose corn syrup, etc. Delicious.

My wife and I stopped for breakfast on Saturday morning. The slection was good, prices reasonable, food tasty and the service outstanding. The location was easy to find on the main road not far from our hotel. Not sure about lunch or dinner, but breakfast was worth the trip.

We stopped in here after visiting one of the local farms. Although the decor leaves much to be desired, this place had some great basic burgers. The service was quick and food was yummy. Good food without breaking the bank. Sometimes the best places are the little hole in the wall cafes. I would definitely come here again and would recommend it to others.
