For persons traveling or living in a seaside town it is impossible to resist the call of the culinary specialties related to the skilful fishermen tradition. For the best interpretation of this need is the restaurant "The Port", located in one of the most beautiful corners of Manfredonia and, of course, a short walk from the sea, near the Svevo-Angioino castle. The primary objective of Cirillo family, for almost fifty years engaged in the business, is the quality with freshness guarantee the daily catch along with the courtesy and hospitality. The restaurant "Il Porto" has become a gathering place for Siponto and gourmets tourists lovers of traditional cuisine based on fish. The cuisine includes specialties from Puglia, mostly based on fish. The dishes are prepared using only fresh local produce. The daily catch and the appetizer are always visible. Among the various courses, we recommend the mixed seafood appetizers, cavatelli with seafood, fish soup. Excellent is also the offer of regional local, national and foreign. We tried three times to eat at this recommended restaurant. It was closed one night, opened too late the next night and we finally got to eat here on the third attempt. We were only the second table to arrive and were shuffled out to a table next to the kitchen and we almost felt like we were intruding. Our waiter was much better and service was good. The chef even came out and introduced himself. The food was a bit bland and almost seemed like cafe food rather than a restaurant. Price was a bit on the high side based on food quality and portion size. We were not offered a wine list but only provided with house wine which was very ordinary. The highlight had to be the table service but this only raised the final score to an average.

For visiting business purposes, I stayed one night in Manfredonia and had a dinner in Cala Diomede for sea food. Place of the restaurant is on the shore and sea, amazing view during sunset. Restaurant atmosphere is very nice and also decoration simple and impressive. Cleaning and hygienic conditions are well than expected. Menu is really has to much alternatives, many of them are being served with attractive presentation. I strongly recommend you to order mixed sea grill that is amazing taste. Also fishes are fresh and in good taste. Service is fast and kind. You can find wine alternatives as well as cheap. I tried 2011 Maurus Vie Di Romans, cabarne franc ( it can not be found in search engines about wines but really nice tasty) end of this comment I suggest you to visit this restaurant if you wish to have a nice dinner.

This restaurant is fantastic. The food is so fresh and delicious. Lello, the owner is an excellent host who talks you through the menu because it changes nightly. The staff are very also very good. Would recommend the sea bass cooked in salt, if it's available. I haven't tasted better. Would recommend Rick Stein visits here - its that good!

Old Masseria 800 that lies at the foot of San Giovanni Rotondo, in the immediate vicinity of the Gulf of Manfredonia (the door of Gargano), located on the ancient transhumance. The pride of the farm is definitely the renowned gastronomic offer based on simple ingredients. Detail is the experience of tasting of buffalo milk fresh from the cow flavor of cream creamy element primeggiante the abundant breakfasts offered to guests.
賓至如歸。食物服務一流。要感受南意大利風土人情,非此農場莫屬。
The host treated us as if we're his family. He treated his customers with care and passion. The breakfast was done with superb excellence and details. To experience Puglia is to experience what's produced here and with food of simplicity. The host clearly achieves that.

La locanda del Torrione was the most friendly place that we found on entire trip through Gargano. Remarkable service, good food and best relation between price and dishes. Maybe a a small recommendation: the cheap metal chairs at the Terrace are uncomfortable and do not fit to the general Impression. But anyhow, whenever we can, we will come back!!!

Well worth the 15 minute walk from the marina. Seafood was super fresh and cooked to order. Mussels were special. 4 cheese pizza was perfect. Service was great, made friends with the waiter who gave us some of his own special grappa. Atmosphere was small, yet loud. Delicioso! The TA directions led us to an abandoned auto shop. Glad we asked a passer by, who directed us to the end of the street.

It is amazing how busy this little stand is. The line is long, but it moves pretty fast. Once you get your order you will know why there are so many people there. It is delicious!!!

I can not believe that so many Italians have given 5 star rating to this place, maybe the "low season" means lowering quality, BUT I think the judgment should be revised: In general it is not a bad restaurant, removed the poor hygiene of the tablecloths, and the house wine that resembles vinegar:the fish smells like fish and the pizza tasting like a pizza. If you are hungry in the middle of a desert this is not a bad choice, but if you are a foreign tourist -Why-do-you-always-have-to-ruin-the-idea-of -Italian-cuisine?

We had dinner here in recently and loved everything we ordered. Michele, the owner was exceptional. He brought us some pasta to sample that other guests were having when we asked what they were eating. How personalized is that. we were brought out bruschetta on the house. The calamari and pasta dishes we ordered were to die for. The best we've had during our entire trip. I would love to go back. We even recommended it to travellers asking us for eating suggestions on the road when going for night walk. If you are in Manfredonia you must try this place. The price is amazing for what you get. This is my first review ever, so that tells you that I wanted to share this amazing food experience. This restaurant is a gem!!
