As a family we were proud to rescue this building with our own hands and create this dining venue back in 2008, bringing 25 years of restaurant experience to our beautiful town. Our dedication and hard work has been recognised with several high profile awards over the past few years – we were awarded one of ‘The most romantic venues in Essex’, then runner-up ‘Best Restaurant 2014’ (Essex Food & Drink Awards) and also were announced winner of the ‘Good Food Award 2016’ – to name just three. img_9020Our head chef and family member is constantly striving to offer newly innovated and a la mode dishes for your dining pleasure and we all aim to offer service and hospitality second to none to represent the business we all love. When the sun shines, our large Terrace offers a perfect south facing outside dining experience whilst dining parties who prefer a private space can be accommodated in a separate and exclusive dining room all to themselves – at no additional cost. We offer a superb selection of specially selected premium wines to suit all budgets and our homemade breads and desserts have to be tried! Whatever your requirements, be it a romantic meal for two or a large celebration meal, we are all on hand to make it special and go the extra mile. If you care to peruse our menus you’ll observe some super dishes prepared with passion to suit every taste. Every dish and sauce is made from scratch to order, never before, and is therefore totally fresh and even variable to taste. We invite you to try our award winning food at fixed prices by opting for our set menus which unusually contain most of our finest dishes. We even have this option available for Saturday night! So don’t delay; call up and reserve your table and see for yourself what we can do to make your meal a memorable one.
We contacted several local places to host a wedding anniversary meal. We chose Intimo as they seemed to be the most relaxed about things and keen to provide whatever we wanted. They made several suggestions which we were happy to take on-board. Intimo put together a menu for adults offering a choice of starters mains and desserts and then something similar to suit the children both of which were very reasonably priced. To be honest we did worry about the number of people in the party and the food being served to everyone at the same time. Our worries were unfounded as everything went very smoothly with no problems. The food was good and plentiful and everyone had a thoroughly good time. The staff went out of their way to make sure it was a special evening for us and nothing was too much trouble. Would we book here again....without a moments hesitation. Thank you Intimo and your staff.

The best pub venue in Maldon, set on the Blackwater river.Thames barges aline the quayside. Large patio area, with Seating for over 100 people. Over looked by Maldon St Marys Church. A wonderful setting on the quay, a fantastic old working dock fo yesteryear.
Lovely evening meal here last week while on holiday in Essex. Service and food were excellent. The area alongside the river was most attractive and despite many visitors the staff were attentive and helpful. Having left our hats and scarves there, we went back to collect them the following day and they had been found and left behind the till. So thank you 'The Queens Head'

Request Coffee Shop is a lovely little Coffee shop just off the main road in a peceful location. When the sun shines it is a great little suntrap with several tables outside on our patio area as well as indoor Seating. We provide reasonably priced homecooked food Monday to Saturday and occassional Sundays. Visit us for all day breakfasts, an ever changing selection of lunchtime snacks and specials and lots of yummy cakes! We also have a large range of hot and cold drinks available. Our location is child friendly being off the main road and we provide highchairs and baby change facilities.
...good food, prompt service and also quiet when I visited the café on a miserable Saturday afternoon in February. What more could you ask for.

Fantastic Chinese Restaurant in Maldon
Had not been to this restaurant for years so a nice surprise to go back there. Food and service is excellent, only downside was the chair to table ratio. Chairs are so low that you have to keep half standing to reach the food in the middle of the table. Even my husband had to, and he is tall! You felt as though the table was too high. It is also very very busy and very noisy. We would visit again but maybe take a cushion to sit on next time!

Went there for a birthday meal as we wanted somewhere with cocktails. There is a comprehensive cocktail menu and I sampled a couple which I could vouch for. This is a popular venue for families and I couldn’t work out why until I got the bill as kids eat free ( a 3 course meal with drink) from 12-5 at the weekends. The kiddie meal came up rather big for our 10 year old but she thoroughly enjoyed it. I opted for the tiger prawns baked in lime and coconut milk itself baked in butternut squash. It is served with Mexican rice. I found it too hot for my taste (although delicious) but a little pot of tomato salsa made all the difference.
The menu is quite detailed and I noticed a number of gluten free dishes (about half a dozen). My OH had chicken fajitas which got the . If you are looking for an informal meal, tasty food which doesn’t break the bank I can totally endorse. We have been here 3 times and always have had a good time.

Went in for my wife's birthday on Monday.
What a fantastic meal
From the moment we walked in the service and the staff were great very friendly and welcoming.
Ordered drinks and popadoms, they were very nice. When our main meals arrived they were very hot and tasty, the potions are nice and big. Although the staff are friendly and helpful they don't keep on asking if you want more drinks.
We had a lovely meal and will definitely be going back
Thanks

Visited with family for lunch, friendly atmosphere, nice service, decent sandwiches and fries, and, apart from dripping balsamic vinegar on trousers as it was lurking mixed underneath the coleslaw in a congealed mess, this was a happy experience. We would come again.

The Loft is a modern tearoom with a vintage vibe! It is located in an Edwardian sail loft in the coastal village of Tollesbury in Essex. As well as serving freshly ground coffee and loose leaf teas, we provide freshly home cooked food such as paninis, sandwiches, soup and delicious cakes. We ensure to have at least one gluten/dairy free option. We use local ingredients wherever possible. One of the endearing features of Tollesbury is the tide that can be very high and can reach the steps of the tearoom (don't worry there is a side entrance) so you may need to check the tide time if you park your car close by!
Stopped here for coffee and cake after a walk . Good coffee and super cakes - really did taste home made and the Victoria sponge was very light and had proper buttercream in the filling. Friendly service and quirky and informal "fifities" ambience with mismatched furniture and formica tables. Would recommend and will visit again next time we're in the area.

Le Bouchon is a grade II listed, 300 year old Georgian building which has undergone an extensive refurbishment programme restoring the building to its former glory. The renovation period lasted in excess of 2 years, working many hours to create the right feel and ambience within this wonderful building, combining some of the original period features with furnishings and classically styled decoration that complements the building. Our restaurant offers a blend of both French and English Cuisine, set in a relaxed and intimate environment. Enjoy a meal from our A la carte menu in the main restaurant or choose from our wide selection of the menus available. Le Bouchon offer 14 individually styled en-suite boutique bedrooms each with their own character. All rooms have flat screen smart LED TV, telephone and FREE wifi access, choice of either hard or soft pillow, duvet or blanket and a complimentary breakfast.
I really do enjoy visiting Le Bouchon and decided to extend this for lunch with 2 friends. We all enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal and must admit that we did partake from the Gin cocktail menu.
As I have come to expect the food and service were excellent.
Have rebooked for January
