We called this restaurant because it advertised authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. They said it in fact is a Puerto Rican restaurant. FAR FROM IT! The food was horrible.. their rice and beans is not at all made with typical herbs made by authentic Puerto Ricans. Not what they advertised. Food was mediocre at best!

Whenever you have an event or just need a night out with friends or family, I highly recommend Gino's Trattoria as the place to find a family centered establishment. They offer a wide selection of food including authentic Italian favorites. I have not only eaten there, done take out from there but have used their catering services for holiday's and family gatherings. They are always courteous and helpful, deliver on time and make any event much better with everyone always asking where the food came from. I highly recommend for dining in, dining out or for your events.

An absolute cannot miss local spot for breakfast. Do yourself a favor: pick one (any one) of the huge array of pancakes from the menu. It will be the highlight of your day. My personal favorite is the multigrain blueberry almond.

I wanted to feel good about Char. Despite its regular menu being quite pricy given a need for facelift in terms of firmly outdated and noise conducive appearance, convenient proximity and a weekly special three course with glass of wine at around $20 per person sounded somewhat inviting, so off we went.
The staff is friendly and supportive. No issues there. It's the food that's uniformly just below an appealing minimal standard. It's almost difficult to mess up fried calamari, but here the batter was a bit soggy and the rings had an odd texture which suggested something related to freezer issues. The pasta was limp and included shrimp miniscule and devoid of character. Visually the dish looked sad.
My entree was nicely cooked and tender but had little of the taste typical of a good hanger steak. Veggies and mashed potatoes were equally bland. The inoffensive almond cake had absolutely no distinction beyond its visual appearance.
I don't wish to either overstate my case while bordering on silly stereotypes in my next observation ironically aimed at fair mindedness. My wife of varying northern European dining heritages had a more positive reaction to the overall experience. She also likes her meat of any kind virtually well done and her meals generally composed of simple ingredients with their assemblage generally uninvolved. Our respective relationship to all things food is almost polar distinctive in nature.
Accordingly, I get how we had such essentially different reaction to the Char meal. She'd call me excessively picky and almost insists that good restaurant food within my standards generally cannot also be of economic value, a contention with which I strongly disagreed and rattled off many cases in support.
I'll finish by saying that there is absolutely nothing in the experience that would lead me to consider stepping up to Char's much more expensive regular menu or another try at their "special" night menu. I say if charging $5 more a person invested toward better fare, that formula may well lead to a more uniformly agreeable good deal.

This place comes highly recommended & reviews tend to be positive. But I believe its because there's not much to compare it to in this area. We were sorely disappointed. Ribs were just ok & chicken was awful. Sides were pretty good & service was average. But I came here for "wow"....not just ok. And yet our friends come on a regular basis & still rave. Not sure I would bother a second time.

We went to use the last of our gift certificates here Tuesday. When we were seated we were told that there were no steaks, yep, no steaks at a steak house. No burgers either. No beef at all...at a steak house, mind you. They ran out??? I think we should have been informed of this before we were seated. Since this was the last week to redeem the certificates, I think the offer should have been extended. The manager was nowhere to be found, and the staff, who are quite nice and professional were hung out to dry by management. While I have enjoyed the Chophouse in the past, I feel the quality of the food and certainly the honoring of pre- purchased certificates will cause me not to frequent the Chophouse as often as in the past.

Great burgers and a private room in the back. It was just too loud for my husband and our boys. We couldn't hear our conversations. We had a great lunch hear but when we came back for dinner there weren't enough staff and we waited forever for our drinks and food. They do have a great business and are very busy. We finally got our food to go and left.

We visited Dish Bistro on a Friday nite and it was a wonderful evening! The menu was varied and seemed to satisfy all of our crowd. The appetizers were unique! Tuna on crispy rice and the cheese board was delicious and presented well. The ambience is great for a family gathering or couples. The staff are pleasant and efficient. We felt very welcome. The decor is beautiful with billowing curtains on the outside area and wonder art works on the wall. Dish Bistro of Mahopac should not be missed!

Not even worth one star. This was among the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had. My husband and I and another couple made a reservation on Open Table because of the great reviews we read on that site. There are only 14 tables, and our party of four was the 5th table occupied. Only one server was employed tonight, and she did not even have busing assistance. She was very scattered and slow, she had to handle fish sales behind the counter as well as the restaurant, and also served as the cashier. The kitchen was also terribly slow. Patrons seated after us were served before us. Bread came first, then we waited about a half hour for water. Salads arrived after another half hour, and they were not cold. Someone at the next table sent his wine back saying it was sour. When our main courses finally arrived, we were all terribly disappointed in the quality of the food itself, which did not live up to the reviews we had read. My plate was filled with grease, and I had specifically asked for the most healthy preparation possible. Customers at two other tables walked out after waiting too long, and another couple walked in and right out after assessing the situation. There was also a problem with pricing and the handling of a coupon. We would never return to this establishment!
