We decided to dine at the restaurant in Macon Pierre the first time. We were pleasantly impressed by the professionalism, courtesy, service, presentation and the excellence of the dishes served.
This restaurant participates in "Tous au Restaurant" throughout France September and October and was excellent value.
The quality of wines, lived up to our expectations.
For the menu with Appetizer House and Amuse Bouches, a glass of white wine and a glass of red wine cafe. 102 euros

The Cassolette is a small restaurant, on the edge of National Road Number 6 in Creches sur Saone Village.Elisabeth and Jean-Marie will be happy to receive you in a nice frame in dining room with sympathetic pastels colour. Our cooking is French traditional type with menu of the day that changes every day. We are at the junction of three small areas which surround us that are Maconnais, Beaujolais and Bresse. You can taste 3 menus of our country side. The most of our products come from small suppliers of the immediate surroundings of the restaurant: cheese-maker, poulterer, pork-butcher, baker... The wines which we propose come directly from producers that we know and selected for the quality of their products. Enjoy your meal.
What a fantastic find! Selected this restaurant based on previous reviews as we were staying nearby and wanted an authentic experience. This restaurant may be simple in its appearance but the standard of food and service provided by the husband and wife team was excellent! The menu is all based around local produce, ask for wine recommendations as the owner is very knowledgeable and was able to suggest very good local wines, both white and red (all very much enjoyed!), we understand he was a professor of winemaking previously.
Went for the set menu facon beaujolais (as did two of my friends - the other friend is vegetarian and the owner suggested a special dish prepared for him). Do not miss the saucisson, cooked sliced sausage, so tasty! Cheese and dessert were to die for, all polished off by a very good eau de vie (grappa) from Bourgogne.
A fantastic evening and very good value for money also.

Email address: [email protected]<br>The restaurant is in the village of Chaintré, cliose to the city of Mâcon. I believe that it has one star in the Michelin guide.
We enjoyed a wonderful second dinner at Le table à Chaintré three years later after our first visit.
To get to Chaintré is allready a little adventure as you drive through the beautiful vineyards to this small village which seems to be deserted at night. Only the restaurant seems to be alive and, once seated in the restaurant, you may glimpse through the curtains to see the illuminated cross on the village square. Again, we enjoyed the kind and modest service of the lady of the house having everything under control. We immensly enjoyed the tourteau de Bretagne, farci d'escargots, le dos de rouget barbet and the agneau! De first of the four desserts was amazing: a perfectly baked pastry filled with almond spice, pistache and strawberries! The other desserts wee quite heavy so we decided to cancel these. Menu price € 58,- wich is a very good value. We really enjoyed this dinner very much as well as the wines suggested by madame. We will came bach for a third time. Merci!

Great food - French cuisine & large variety and quality of French wines with beautiful scenery of the Saint Laurent bridge (river and Mâcon riverside). Ideal place for lunch or dinner, they have an extremely high standard - it's one of Georges de Blanc restaurants so food is excellent, service is really friendly and professional, . Very fresh and tasteful ingredients in all the dishes. I reccoment shrimps in tempura or mussels in a creamy sauce as starter, 'Poulet de Bresse avec morilles' (chicken breast with teasty mushroom's sauce) as a main course and selection of French cheeses as dessert. If you're looking for fantastic and tasteful food & wine, nice location and quite reasonable price options you should visit these restaurant.

C'est dans un cadre chaleureux et convivial que le chef Patrick et son epouse Laurence seront heureux de vous accueillir le temps d'une pause.La cuisine y est traditionnelle soignee, ou l'accent est porte sur la qualite des produits frais.
Macon seems to specialize in friendly welcomes at its restaurants, and L'Ethym'Sel is no exception. The food is very good - the best of the restaurants I tried in Macon - but not quite up to 5 stars. The foie gras appetizer says it all: they use Rougie brand. That's the one you can buy at the airport: perfectly decent, but hardly the stuff of 5 stars. The appetizer (salad) and main (rabbit) were both very good: the rabbit deserved better accompaniment. The dessert, a moelleux au chocolat, was disappointing: for something so common on menus, it's not easy to do properly. Most of the time, the outside is overcooked: this version fit that pattern. The wine I had was only fair: in Burgundy, you should get a better bottle of Burgundy than the one they served. The wine came from a négociant (the one I wanted, from a producer, was sold out), yet another reason why the place is not up to 5 stars. By all means, eat here, you'll enjoy it, but don't go expecting to get a 5-star meal.

The food wasn't bad. I just expected more because it is a Michelin restaurant. I guess my hopes were up too high.
I had an avocado appetizer that was pretty good because it was interesting and different.
The beef was fine but I don't think it was done with sous-vide immersion so it tasted like regular beef.
We arrived at the restaurant early so it was empty. There is plenty of street parking around the restaurant which is kind of in an industrial area.
This is a judgement call. If you want to visit a Michelin restaurant, and you like your food to look pretty...then stop by and give it a try.
If you prefer a great meal and food decor is not that important to you, find someplace else to go.

My husband and I stopped in Macon overnight on our drive through France and were delighted to find this lovely restaurant across the river from our hotel (Best Western, Macon, reviewed elsewhere). It was a ten minute walk via the lovely bridge and the food was superb, the wine even better (try the sugar free champagne, we didn't think that was even possible!) and our host most welcoming.
Highly recommended for fine dining.

Others have covered this excellent establishment many times over, my wife and I can only echo these sentiments. From the delicious and innovative amuse bouche to begin with through our excellent fresh salmon and prawn entrée with quinoa taboule the flavours were subtle, the presentation first rate and innovative. We had mains of fresh seared tuna with wafer thin green and yellow corgette for my wife and I the carre de veau with girolles and a yellow wine sauce, the veal was the most tender I have ever had anywhere - simply excellent. The desserts again innovative with a crème brulee with pistache for one and a white chocolate with strawberry and thick cream and side of cassis sorbet.....wonderful. The wine list is extensive with a great emphasis on Burgundy and why not, some of the regions best examples are on offer even if it's little on the expensive side, eating this well deserves a good wine. can't wait to return.

We had dinner at this restaurant along the waterfront in Macon in April, 2017. We were the first customers of the evening and received attentive, courteous service from the start. The food was very good and our waiter made excellent wine suggestions. We would recommend the restaurant to anyone in Macon.
