Neighbourhood eatery in the heart of Lyttelton specialising in authentic Italian pizzas and hand made pasta alongside great hospitality. Great views of Lyttelton from our heated and covered deck.
This place has a relaxed, friendly Kiwi atmosphere, frequented more by locals than tourists. The food is good and it has outdoor dining with views of the Lyttleton Harbor.

Only Bangladeshi restaurant with modern flair in NZ which serves fresh, healthy and tasty Bengali dishes with exceptional service to every guests.
We visited the Riccarton location of Nobanno; this recently opened restaurant is easy to find and tastefully decorated. Our server (who I presume was the owner) was intensely passionate about providing us with an excellent dining experience. His explanation of the cuisine was interesting and helpful. Our meals arrived in due course and were attractively plated. We both enjoyed our entrees and mains. The prices were quite reasonable. Definitely recommend giving it a try if you haven't been. We look forward to our next meal there.

Governors Bay Hotel is an historic 1870s hotel with stunning views over Lyttelton Harbour. Located just 20 minutes drive from central Christchurch via Dyers Pass Road. Gastro-pub fare at reasonable prices from the garden, bar or restaurant. Recommended in the Lonely Planet and 2012/13/14 winner in the Beef and Lamb Excellence Awards. Juke box, pin ball and pool table but definitely no pokies. Stay the night from $119.00 Per couple.
I planned a walk and afternoon drinks and nibbles at the Governors bay pub for my 40th celebration, followed by a stay in the King suite. The team made catering for a group easy with a handy selection of platters which was a delicious and...MoreHi Jo, It was our pleasure to host you and your family and friends on such an auspicious occasion. Came here with a friend for lunch and a drink, ended up with messy fingers (in a good way) from their most delicious “Soon to be famous Molè Burger”.
The Mayo and avocado from this burger oozed out on my fingers. So good to lick them clean.
Followed by a Mocha Deluxe hot chocolate and coffee drink.
Great views overlooking Governors Bay towards Quail Island give this place a great relaxing environment.
Great food, great location, great staff....

Having had an awesome stay with these two and the kids and families etc. Great Christmas and New Years. Took them for a feast in Lyttelton.
Roots was open and right there, we was all hungry after swimming and AMI stadium tour etc. So we each got something and plenty of rice with breads etc...
All sticking to water.
I know my dish was a fiery one, bloody lovely, the onion bhaji was great too. Kids each had butter chicken and Alice went for a goat.
I know one thing, there was not a mouthful of food left on any plate or in any bowl,
good sign, good food, great.
Great price too

Previously a tailors of the same name, Civil & Naval is a bar and tapas restaurant. Placed on Lyttelton's main drag, they specialise in craft beer, and offer an eclectic wine list and some seriously good bar snacks and small plates. Drop by for a bevy of local and international wines, great beer, classic cocktails, and a tempting and decadent menu.
I Slip away here for a quiet catchup. Always warm. Intimate. Quality food and service. I usually enjoy the Black Estate Pinot noir and work our way through the menu. The calamari with Wasabi mayo and pickeled ginger is a fav..beef cheek is melt in mouth and beetroot brushetta is yum!... an eclectic bunch of staff and clientele make for an interesting yet relaxed dining experience

I have been here twice and would probably go again when in Lyttleton. My problem is that I find New Zealand coffee to be over-priced jolt, generally already cooling rapidly, I understand the reason for this. I get it, but it is still annoying, I want a cup of hot coffee. Chai latte can be ordered extra hot, but it still frequently arrives cold. So....I always have a pot of tea with hot milk on the side. No problem. Nice place to have a scone or muffin and quiet enough to enjoy Reading my book while waiting for the ferry to go back to Diamond Harbour,

I ordered a coffee and while waiting to be served, listened to the young men and women working there gossiping. To top it my latte was accompanied by a very dirty spoon. I took that as intentional and did not tough the coffee fearing what these people had put into it.

A really lovely little place. The food is fresh and wonderfully tastey. It is mainly for take away but there are perhaps half a dozen tables so you can sit down should you wish. The owners were very friendly. If you are visiting Lyttelton or the Governers Bay area I would certainly recommend this place for a quick lunch.
