Lynton is a small town on the Exmoor coast in Devon, England standing on top of the cliffs above the picturesque harbour village of Lynmouth, to which it is connected by the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway. Lynton was once the terminus for the narrow-gauge Lynton & Barnstaple Railway, which served both towns.

Refreshments served with a side order of spectacular views across Lynmouth Bay. Our Grade I listed building perched high on the cliff top above the Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway is perhaps the most beautiful location for a Cream Tea in the Westcountry. We also offer a range of freshly prepared sandwiches, homemade cakes, light lunches and vegetarian options to eat in or take away; and of course we do drinks and freshly ground coffee too. To find the cafe use postcode EX35 6HW.
We popped in for a soft drink before going down on the Railway, unfortunately the Staff were chatting to each other and not welcoming. The cleanliness was poor especially under the Coffee Machine, window sills,Toilet doors, and pipes so needed a deep clean, just don't mention...MoreThank for visiting and bring these points to our attention - I apologise that your visit was not up to your expectations but rest assured that we will be taking these comments on board. thank you for taking the time to review us.

We serve exciting modern food from around the world while using local ingredients. We like to test our customers taste buds with unusual flavour combinations. We love catering for vegetarians and vegans. We can also happy to cater for people with gluten and lactose intolerance. Can pre-order birthday and celebration cake with us including gluten free and vegan options. Opening times are 10 till 4 pm and dinner from 6 pm.
An unprepossessing little restaurant with a surprisingly adventurous menu that left us sated and coming back for a further visit two days later. The food was varied and wonderfully crafted with beautiful flavours, leaving you pleasantly pleased and sated.
A wonderful atmosphere and a great chef.

We popped in here looking for somewhere to eat as we were staying locally. We were totally impressed. I had the pork belly and my husband had the duck. We both agreed that the meals were fantastic... really well presented and so tasty! The prices weren’t cheap to be honest but it was worth every penny. We’ve already decided we will be going back next year.

intimate dining experience the restaurant has a fresh new look without losing its charm and warm welcoming atmosphere. Our ethos remains the same, "dine at your leisure". Your table is yours for the evening.
We found this restaurant on our first night in Lynmouth, it was so welcoming and the food/drinks were great, after trying other restaurants during our stay we returned on our last night, we were not disappointed in fact it was even better, the lady is very friendly and had chat, the steak was fantastic and the prosecco cocktails are bliss. Will definitely be back.

The oak room is a relaxed tapas bar and restaurant, serving authentic tapas, main course, delicious desserts and great wines.
Tapas and main options very enjoyable evening meal. Wine available by the carafe. Very nice wine. We had the Tempranillo. The vegetarian tapas options are very tasty.
Authentic Spanish Deserts (which would usually put me off) but these were really delicious.
Good service nice atmosphere. Thank you.

Fish and Chip shop / Cafe / Restaurant serving traditional fresh fish and chips, baguettes, sandwich’s and Cream teas. Seperate evening menu with Market fish stew, Makeral fillets, Mussels in a local Cider sauce. We also run the chip shop all day and night.
Stomping around Lynton and Lynmouth, we were almost at the end of our walk when my husband spied a customer of The Glasshouse eating cake....we decided we needed tea and cake. We will definitely be back as the new owners have really made their mark on the place. Beautiful decor, friendly staff, LOVELY cakes...really lovely cakes and a great pot of tea.
Loos were spotless too!!
Well done The Glasshouse...see you soon

We ate several times in The Crown and always had great food and service.
Large portions made this great value with some very tasty “specials” available.
There’s also a good range of ales, as you would expect.
Rachel worked very hard and deserves a mention in my books. Well done and thank you.

Had to be done - tea, scones, cream and jam!! Probably should have walked up to justify the calories but the cliff train was entirely painless !!
The decor is a little tired in this traditional cafe but the scones were great and the service friendly and prompt
Not bad at all
