We had lunch with two other couples at this restaurant. Good soup and sandwiches. Relaxing atmosphere. Scones were bought on the way out by the other two ladies and they said they were excellent.

The West Main Street Market has a nice selection of homemade soups, salads and sandwiches. The pumpkin soup was excellent. The dining area is small but was homey,

A must destination for both visitors and locals. Stephan's Sugar Shack is a beach theme ice cream parlor, complete with a sand and sea shells that is truly one of a kind. Over 50 flavors of ice cream (Hershey's and Dippin Dots) and Italian Ice are served by a friendly staff while the best songs from summers past play in the background. Products include milk shakes, floats, sundaes, cones, and our famous ice cream pies.
A few friends and I went to Stephen's Sugar Shack for, you guessed it, ice cream. Overall, they have a good number of flavors but it is kind of a bare-looking store. Has no real charm.
My group had a hankering for ice cream, and that's what drew a seven. You can taste anything you want, and they have dippin' dots as well. They get all their ice cream from a big distributor, they don't make anything there. That small-town charm is kind of lost there.
Service was friendly and fast.

Now open at our new location!! We offer a unique dining experience: serving breakfast, gourmet sandwiches, soups and salads with a full-service espresso bar, homemade pastries and pies in a relaxing atmosphere. Wine and beer - on and off. Open 7 days a week.
This is the best breakfast/lunch place in Luray - and its open year round. Everything is homemade and are all your favorites but with enough of a flair to make it there own. The bakery makes some wonderful desserts. They have a full coffee bar and can give you everything from their own roast to a cappuccino. While breakfast is basic and not fancy, the place is very clean, with good service and the food is well done. I look forward to each visit. Dinner is next (which I’ve never done) and I will write about that!

Our first time to Mimslyn, but not really much to do in town. We hung around until dinner, which didn't go so well. We both ordered drinks, then dinner. Waited for a bit, when the waiter came over and shoved the menu in my face and advised they were out of Trout, which was my husbands order not mine, he had gone to restroom. The waiter stood there looking at me as if I was supposed to make a decision. When my husband came back, he still stood there for what seemed like an immediate answer, it all became quite uncomfortable. My husband and I ended up in a tiff, and we left the establishment to cool off. When we came back we were told our food had been put in the garbage! They then still expected us to pay! Why wouldn't they put it in a to go box? We were in the Inn, therefore could not have gone too far. We were told the food was 'ruined' , don't people get things to go all the time? Every restaurant I have been to they offer to go boxes. Never tasted the food, drove home, did not stay at the Inn.

We stopped into this place after my grandson's basketball against Mt. Carmel. It was a great stop and reminded us of a couple of restaurants we have at home in Texas. We started with the garlic knots and they were great. My wife and granddaughter split a pizza. It was good, not the best ever, but good. My grandson and I split the large Stromboli, it was huge. I thought the Stromboli was better than the pizza.
This is just a local establishment, so it is nothing pretentious.

Love that this place is in the basement of the Mimslym. East access, easy parking. Good food, good bar. Sometimes local musicians are playing too. You can sing along (they did not ask me to stop...so that's 4 stars right there). They have nightly specials...and somebody always gets it in my group and I always wish I had. Meatloaf is good for what ails you.

We were visiting from out of state and googled some reviews on local restaurants. We wanted something authentic and unique to this location and stumbled upon the Brookside. It was the most pleasant surprise! They had a soup and salad bar, as well as a hot food and dessert bar. All of the food was fresh and hand made! I ordered a dinner that came with the buffet and my husband had the buffet alone. Both were fantastic and I have a feeling that, if we lived in the area, we would be regulars here! Great friendly service and wonderful food. The restaurant is quite small and has limited seating. So, it may be wise to come early for seating during peak hours.
