When my wife suggested stopping at Buc ees. I said "We're in the heart of Texas barbecue country. Why not go some place good? Ha ha, the joke was on me. Buc ees has some of the best brisket that I have ever tasted. They have an almost endless selection of food and all of it looked yummy. However the 3 pounds of brisket I left with was like discovering good. We'll be sure to stop again on the way home.

Well, I know in Texas alot of folks enjoy eating a meal at DQ which is something I don't think I've ever done but like every other DQ I've been in, this place makes a mean cone and/or Blizzard. I can't drive thru Luling without making a stop.

The brisket and ribs were the best I think I’ve ever had! The pickles were also excellent and I’d love to know how they make them. Nice atmosphere

Chicken fried steak with cream gravy and mashed potatoes and you have a meal. It is the biggest piece of chicken fried steak I have ever seen. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Good small Texas café. Nice atmosphere. Locals eat here so you know it has to be good. And it was. On my repeat list.

I visited on a Saturday night, Memorial Day weekend, one hour before closing. I placed a to-go order. I believe they were running out of ribs so rather than admit they did not have enough ribs to last until close I got i regular size pork rib (from the smaller part of the rack) and one dinky one and a half inch rib. Maybe he made up for it with the brisket but it was 1/3 fat. Waste of money and would have gone for the higher rated BBQ joint but they close earlier.

Went there with colleagues for lunch. The chips were hot and fresh and the salsa was tasty. I had the Jr.'s Plate - crispy taco, chalupa, enchilada. The taco meat was particularly tasty. My only critique was that they used American cheese rather than cheddar. I know many hole-in-the-wall places do this, but I don't think it's a good choice, probably just cheaper. Our waitress was very efficient and we were served quickly. The interior appeared very clean, although somewhat worn.

China Palace served our party of five thoroughly delicious dinner selections (each of us chose something different-- from General Tso's Chicken to Kung Pao Chicken to Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, etc.), which included soup, egg roll, and entree. The flavors were wonderful. Service was competent, although the wait staff were somewhat over-worked. Prices were reasonable.

We passed by Luling on our way to Dallas from the RGV, & were really disappointed with Meme's. While the staff was extremely friendly & pleasant, the food left a lot to be desired. I had the chicken enchiladas, which literally had giant chunks of chicken fajita rolled into a greasy tortilla. This dish is typically made with shredded stewed chicken. The beans were dripping with oil, but were bland & tasteless. The chips were good & so was the tea to be a fair. Our choices were limited on this Saturday evening, but we wouldn't stop here again. If you're looking for great Mexican food, find another restaurant.

Mom's Front Porch is a new Luling restaurant offering delicious ice cream and coffee choices, sandwiches, and home-baked breads. The quality is high and the prices are modest.

Encouraged by their good reviews, we tried Azucena's, but will not be visiting again. Their beans and rice were average at best. The enchiladas were cold. The puffy taco and chalupas were very hot and also tasted average at best. The table was not cleaned properly and no tables had any napkins. Their service took far longer than it should. So therefore, their food was about average or less and their service was not good.
