The legacy of Buddy Holly lives on in his birthplace of Lubbock, where a museum, a walk of fame and an annual music festival honor musicians hailing from the area. Its museums shed light on the agricultural and military history of the region. Lubbock's many parks, golf courses and wineries provide a relaxing break from it all. Add to all of this a hopping nightlife and Lubbock truly is the "Hub City" of activity in the South Plains area.

After many people recommending this restaurant, we decided to try it for a birthday dinner. It was good, but I didn't get what the hype was about. Service and atmosphere were good. It was not too busy-it was a pretty early dinner on a Wednesday though. We'd heard great things about the "pink" sauce, but again it was underwhelming. The kids had a "personal" 10"pizza which seemed bigger than 10", but it was great for them to share. Portion size was good for the price. Would probably go again to try a different dish next time.

Cast Iron Grill is a busy restaurant nestled in downtown Lubbock. Our menu is filled with country cookin' specialties that are made from scratch. Our desserts are homemade every morning. Come Join us For Breakfast or Lunch Monday-Friday 6am-2pm We are also open Friday Nights for dinner from 5pm-9pm. Come enjoy the patio on friday nights with live music.TIP: Order Dessert First
The Tuesday lunch special is the best pot roast I've ever eaten (sorry Grandma), though nothing on the menu is ever disappointing. The fried green beans are an excellent side option, served with cold, creamy ranch. The desserts are sinful and delicious but go quickly. We always order dessert when we order our meal to guarantee that what we want is still available when we finish.

I tried the sliced brisket when I visited and it was great. It wasn't too fatty or too lean, but just right. I believe they use pecan wood, which is a nice change from what you typically find in West Texas (mesquite). Their sides were nothing remarkable, but who visits a barbecue joint for the sides?

Some things don't change, thankfully, and One Guys on University is one of them. Pizza, calzones, pasta dishes, salads - Always Excellent. They have expanded their seating, making this even more appealing for families as well as college students. It's the BEST pizza and calzones in Lubbock, hands down.

Orlando s Italian Restaurant has been serving our "Tex-Italian" (Texas Monthly gave us that moniker) cuisine since opening its original 24th & Ave. Q location in 1965.
When I was told about Orlando's being "the spot" for Italian I truly wasn't really intrigued. But once I took a look at the menu I was shocked by what they actually had to offer. This is a great place to just do apps and...MoreWhile we get some grief once in a while from newbies about not being "authentic" Italian, hey, we are in West Texas, and the people here like things SPICY sometimes! Thanks for checking us out and taking the time to write such a nice review!

Bistro Lounge. Spanish Tapas. International Wine Bar. Ecclectic Elegance. Sophisticated Menu. Voted Best Date Place. Evening Live Music. Culturally Inviting. Well Traveled Oasis. Outdoor Dining.
I love coming here because it is something totally different in the depot district and reminds me of places in Austin and Atlanta. They sell wine, and their sangria is strong and delicious. Definitely best to order a pitcher and split with friends. They have live music on Saturday nights. I love the atmosphere because it's just like a little clutter of random art and art deco. They have Christmas lights strung up everywhere. I've eaten their escargot here and it was good. Super mellow and chill.

Big place with lots of people and noise. Standard Texas decor with license plates and bass on the walls, lots of faux rust, etc. (They seem to try a little too hard to be quaint) Tried their IPA - it was just soapy and terrible. Vienna was better, but not by that much. Wouldn't come here again for beer. Steaks were good but not great. My Big Bailey ribeye was overcooked if tasty. Sides were good, especially the fried green beans. Prices were pretty good. Terrible wifi.
