We rode bikes here from the centre of town and enjoyed a delicious lunch. The setting was lovely We purchased a local map from the restaurant (hand drawn) and continued on with a interesting bike ride through a number of ethnic villages, over a small bamboo bridge and along rice fields. Great afternoon.

On the way R3A from Thailand to China, our group stopped at Luang Namtha, Laos for lunch. Huean Lao restaurant looked like old house of countryside people in Laos. Ground floor is separated in room, looked like guesthouse, opened for toilet. Eating place is in 2nd floor. Food is Thai&Laos mixed. Taste is quite good for upcountry restaurant, especially chili paste, and sweet and sour fish. However, there were many of tour groups stopped here for lunch, full in all seat, and extend to outdoor Seating. Food served quite fast, but less waiters for service.

Manychan is one of the favorite places of the backpackers so there's often many fun people!
I never stayed in the guesthouse but I did try the food. The taste is great but it was a bit touristy to not give me any chopsticks or things to season my soup with (there was no chili at all so I had to ask for some). I got everything I wanted though and the Lady who owns the place was very nice so the service was great!
I think that there's better places in town to eat so maybe I won't go again. But it's nice and good to meet people and if I would stay in the guesthouse I would eat there too!

We came here almost ever night during our stay in LN to have dinner.
In the front area you can purchase your stuff at different stalls and eat it at the provided tables. Most locals do that, it's supposed to be very delicious.
We always ate under the roofed area. There are two, three stalls with English speaking chefs (look out for the signs) and one with drinks. Prices are rather low (12.000-18.000K), servings ate reasonable and food is good. Try the sweet-sour vegetables with rice. ;-)

Zuela's Restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere for dining all day. Open at 6:30 am it has a wide range of breakfast options including western, baked gods, and local cuisine. Lunch and dinner also offer a wide range of local and western options all cooked fresh with fresh local ingredients.
I ordered a chicken burger but it didnt seem a chicken burger at all. It was like a dough with no chicken taste. I asked to staff because I think that It was a mistake and I had a veg burger. She was very rude and she said that It was chicken 100%. Later she said that she mixed with Bread and egg so thats the problem, all burger is Bread and egg and a miminum of chicken. Finally I ate a Bread burger.

We are owned and operated by a family that has lived in Luang Namtha for generations. It is our desire to bring to our customers simple, quality local food in a comfortable setting. We hope you enjoy the exciting flavour Northern Lao cuisine has to offer.
The place is a bit off the main street which makes it a little quieter.
The restaurant looks really nice with it's wooden floor and furniture.
The food was really tasty and delicious! I had fried bamboo with tofu
and some sticky rice and it was really good!
Sadly the prices are a bit high.
Maybe I'll go again for the tasty food and the nice atmosphere but I prefer
other places that have great food but lower prices like the Manikong or Lai's place.
I gave it the rating very good anyways because they are one of the few places in
town where you can get the food that they have in the minority tribes,
which is so delicious and something you shouldn't miss out on while you're
in Luang Namtha! It's some of my favorite food!

We use authentic delicious western food to empower the local community. Food you're craving from home with a combination of fresh local ingredients and imported specials such as real cheese, bacon, olives from our nearest supermarket 7 hours and an international border crossing away. We have woodfired pizzas, Italian pastas and risottos, big breakfasts, awesome sandwiches, real espresso and top notch cocktails. All our staff are local ethnic minority people with no prior English language, food preparation or customer service skills. They come to work with us to learn English and how to work in the hospitality industry. Our profit is donated to the Luang Namtha Books In Schools program to increase the number of textbooks in the local schools from the current 1 per 3 students to everyone having their own set of textbooks. So far we've donated over 2,800 textbooks to local students. Come in to our training restaurant to help us support northern Laos!
Best restaurant in town. Perfect place to chill out and enjoy affordable European food, drinks and cocktails. The wifi is super fast. Free water refill.

We have eaten at Lai's Place ever since we arrived in the area. We luckily found it by chance as it is situated just off the main road, but it is a must for all who are travelling through the area. Being a Laotian family run restaurant, it is most welcoming and has a warm, relaxed atmosphere to it. As the elders lounge around and the kids run around, the lady who seems to be in charge of both service and food (who I can only assume was Lai) was great to talk with and a FANTASTIC cook. The menu boasts a variety of cuisines from American to French to Thai and of course to Laotian dishes - including foods of the local peoples of the Mountains such as the Akha - 'Jeow Bong' is a must have local dish, as well as the traditional Laos 'Laap' salad.

We visited as a large group on multiple occasions, as well as ordering sandwiches from them to keep us going over the Laos/China border. The staff were welcoming and there was a great variety of food to suit everyone. Would definitely recommend (especially the takeaway sandwiches!)

With its incredible view, warm atmosphere and amazing local cuisine Passion View stands out above all other bars and restaurants in Luang Namtha. Expect great service given by professional staff, request music you want to hear and taste their signature cocktail 'Passion View'. A minutes walk from the main street its hard to miss with its lit up tree. A perfect place for Laotians and travellers.
We went here for drinks once and it was very nice. The bar is a bit away from the centre but worth the walk. The bar looks nice and the passionview cocktail was great!
