Poor copy of Happy from the old days, as interior, menu items, but quite far from it taste wise and especially in terms of service. Best asset for locals - right at the pedestrian street where the life in a small bulgarian city is locked!

You have to try the food, specially the mushroom risotto. Nice choice of appetizers and main courses. Great surrounding and lovely place to spend the evening with friends or colleagues. You will find it in the tunnel next to Soho bar, looking like old communist building from outside but nice and cozy from the inside

Passing by, we spotted this exceptionally nice-looking restaurant at the river and decided to enjoy lunch there. The wine leave rolls were OK, but the trout tasted outright muddy, with aftertaste of a humid underground potato cellar. Also, the amount of flies on the tables told that the table clothes probably hadn't been washed for a while. Asking around revealed that our experience wasn't unique. Conclusion - Never again.

This is a restaurant situated in the very centre of the city, next to the theatre, between the old church and the history museum dedicated to the victorious Pleven siege during the Russian-Turkish Liberation war in the end of 18th century. The building is owned by the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox church and that's why it was named "Paraklisa" (The Chapel). The venue was opened years ago, but it changed tenant/owner and its chef recently therefore we decided to visit it and we have been amazed how good it is! The club-restaurant is medium in size - it has around 80 seats inside and around 30 seats in its summer garden which is not working right now, because of the season. The menu list is not very long, but fortunately offers a great variety of food and tasty dishes that you can't find in other restaurants in Pleven. You could order there also more traditional dishes like steaks, fish, pizza, pasta, risotto, different desserts. I recommend you to try the salad with four types of cheese (Quattro Formaggi), their Caesar salad, their pork loin with Boletus edulis, the chicken fillet with curry and honey... The restaurant offers also a great variety of alcohol (I was impressed by their wine list) and bottled and local draught beer. The staff is kind and working really fast, the prices are average for Pleven (the salads are between 4,00 and 7,00 BGN (2,00-3,50 EUR), the main courses are between 8,00 and 20,00 BGN (4,00-10,00 EUR)), you could pay in cash or by the most commonly used credit/debit cards. There is a parking next to the restaurant (paid during the day, free in the evening), but the good central location of the restaurant allows you to come by feet even if you are sight-seeing in the centre of the city or staying in some of the centrally located hotels. Reservations are accepted.

Restaurant Drakata is in my opinion the best restaurant in Lovech!
The staff is extremely friendly, you can ask them for everything and they will gladly answer all your questions.
The prices are a bit expensive considering the average restaurant prices in Lovech, but that said I think that they are reasonable.

Last weekend our team of 13 people enjoyed the true Bulgarian cuisine in this small and cozy restaurant seated by the fireplace. Lavish menu card with traditional taste. All dishes reminded us about our childhood and the home made taste of grandmas cooking.
They provide Delivery services with excellent quality! Hot banitsa for breakfast is a must!
Good service all in all!
Definitely the TOP PLACE to eat in Oreshak!

This cafe is on two levels, the higher part is level with the main town square, with shaded tables under the trees, right next to the museum. The lower vel has an inside part, with an open fire and great for winter. There is a large outdoor section with views over the river.
Ther is a limited food menu, everything well priced and good coffee, good service nd very long opening hours, 07.00 - 24.00

I stayed in this hotel, which was lovely, but the restaurant downstairs is open to all. It is miles above the qualitly of the other restaurants I visited there. They went out of their way to accommodate my vegetarian requests, and made a bean dish for me, which was good, not great. The hominy dish was excellent, as was their garlic bread, like pita bread, but thicker and yummier... good wine selection; they gave me a delicious local Muscat. Everything was clean and nicely decorated. It's hard to find, but it's right on the river, about 2-3 blocks down from the covered bridge, a large, nicely renovated traditional house.
