Food was good and plenty. We asked what was in the Monday daily special, as the name was unknown to us. She looked around and then pointed to a guy at the next table and he heard it, and informed us it was good. I ordered it and it was good, but more than I could eat. Price was reasonable. The receipt was not totaled when put on our table. Another lady came and took the cash and receipt and did not give us a copy. So, we are not sure how much of a tip we left, as we were not sure of the total with tax.

I've never received good service at this place and today was no exception. The cashier (who was very able to speak) did not speak a word to us the entire time we stood at the register. Instead, she stood there with a blank look as we recited our order. She did not repeat our order, did not ask if we wanted anything else, and did not give us our total. She literally remained silent the entire. It was a very awkward experience. Very unprofessional service at a place with already mediocre food.

My colleague and I stop into Beethovens about 3x a week. VERY clean, modern joint with artsy flare and EXCELLENT food and home-brewed teas & espresso coffee drinks.
We've had their sweet pastries, which are really light and flavorful. We sampled their breakfast tacos, which are a 4.5 out of 5 stars! Very very good. I tried a kolache a couple weeks back, which was mouthwatering and didn't taste "boxed." I've has had the Basil/dried tomato Chicken Sandwhich for lunch, which I highly recommend. My buddy had also had their Chicken Garden Salad which he said was very fresh, crisp and tasty.
Hard to beat in Los Fres. Nice atmosphere, free wifi, clean bathrooms, friendly staff... Homerun.

We were driving from Harlingen to S. Padre Island and after passing a few restaurants - I simply swung into this one. It isn't anything great for decoration, etc. but the food was good and the prices were fine. My wife and I shared a combination plate and we were both comfortably full and felt the food was authentic and tasted great.
For around $10 we had a very nice lunch. Would certainly go back.
One thing I appreciated was the pictures of local students who they apparently "sponsored" in various sports.

I like Piti's pizza very much. The dough is very good. We like the sauce. I would go there more often if they had more parking or a drive thru bc I have small children. The other convenience option often wins out for that reason. I have yet to try the pasta.

A terrific and satisfying meal that was prepared quickly in a homestyle atmosphere. Menus is in Spanish but waiter/host could explain what was what. Large tacos are very big and very filling. If you aren't local you might get some stares but nothing hostile or unfriendly -- no one would expect you to know about this place if you aren't from the area. Worth a visit but you might have to wait as seating and staff are limited.

The tacos and the Tortas are good. This is my families first stop whenever we get into town. We been away for almost 2 years so glad they still here. They got taco Tuesday which is 50cent bistec tacos I think the record is like 32 or 37. Lol

Great food at very reasonable prices! My husband and I eat at Tapias at least once a month. The enchiladas, chalupas and tacos on the Mexican Plate are consistently delicious! We enjoy chatting with the owner who has always made us feel so welcome. We will go back again and again!

Visited with husband and kids in a Saturday evening. We ordered nachos deluxe, buffalo hot wings, a cheeseburger and a grilled cheese sandwich from the kid's menu.
It is our first time there and those wings were great, crispy and tasty. The nachos were home style and the burger was a little too spicy. The service was quick and the place in general was clean. We will go back!

Finding Chopstix was a treat for us. Winter Texans for 6 weeks in 2014 and frequent visitors to South Padre Island, it was nice finding a restaurant that offered something a little different than the typical beach fare, Mexican food and seafood. (Now if only a great Thai restaurant would move there.) This restaurant is an extension of the Chopstix in Brownsville. The menu at Chopstix is large and diverse and prices are reasonable. Specials are offered daily.
The food is tasty, although typically American Chinese style with lots of heavy sauces. Nothing gourmet here, just chain style Chinese food. Large portions for sharing or taking home half for lunch tomorrow. Good eggrolls, good spring rolls. Good cabbage soup. I didn't taste the egg drop soup which is also offered. Vegetables in the dishes are fresh and crispy.
Our friends who live in Los Fresnos year round, eat here weekly and recommended it to us as a change of pace from the other restaurants in the area.
