Come in for some Great Food and Music. Remember BYOB on all Adult Beverages.
Party of 12 engulfed this establishment for lunch today! They were so hospitable! Order at counter then they bring your food. Before ordering, they gave us a sample of the crawfish étouffée—delicious!! We chose to sit outside under umbrellas. Live music playing. Everything that was ordered was good—crab cake, crawfish burger, red fish, red beans! Will definitely return!

Being from the Pacific NW, my view of a proper cup of coffee and a Southerner's are a bit at odds. I love that when I am visiting family on the Gulf Coast that I can count on Bankhouse Coffee to provide me a dark and delicious doppio espresso. Whole beans from Coast Roast also make me happy, since it's rare in Mississippi to find true espresso-quality beans to take home.

May be tasty but cook/presentation lacking with other great choices in area. Oysters shriveled in their presentation and tuna sandwich was more bread than tuna w/ mediocre fixons. French fries overcooked. May want to check quality control before leaves the kitchen.

The Yougart was good and there were many flavors and lots of toppings to choose from. This is self serve shop where you put your own yougart and toppings in a cup and all the atendent does is weigh the cup and charge by the ounce. I was disappointed that there was only one size (VERY LARGE) cup and it was a challange to keep my grandson front filling it with enough for five kids his size. I was also hopeing that there would be someone making sundays shakes, and malts.

Artisan ice pop makers using fresh fruit, and spices. Exotic fruit flavors available making the experience "a trip around the wold". Cream and indulgent flavors offered as well as chocolate dipping for your favorite flavor. Seating inside and out and ope 7 days a week!
These popsicles are amazing.....you wont believe the selection & they just keep coming out with more & more. They rotate flavors in & out also. Take an ice chest because you'll want one for later or take one to your friend. Flavors.....so many I cant possibly list but here are a couple.....Nutter Butter with a real cookie in the popsicle, strawberries & cream with real strawberries, coconut with real slivers of coconut, passion fruit, watermelon, just to give you an idea of the selection. You can have it dipped in milk chocolate or white chocolate for an additional charge. Something for everyone.....YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!

This is a new Donut Shop in Long Beach and a they serve fresh baked items daily 7 days a weak. Very good prices, very reasonable for a dozen "Good Melt in Your Mouth" pastries . You got to try them. I have to say they are as good as or better than some other coast Donut Shops. Small in size but large in tasty treats. You can call ahead or walk in and get it.. apple fritters go fast..they are so Good ! Glad to have them in the area. They also serve Breakfast sandwiches with their fresh baked buttery crescents.

We were a bit concerned when we pulled up as there weren’t many people there for a Saturday night. It turned out to be a very pleasant dinner spot, just right with no waiting, good food and easy to have a conversation. The staff were great, very friendly and easy going. The food was quite good, though I thought they would have more seafood options. The menu was more of a “southern comfort food” menu, nicely prepared, nothing fancy. All in all a pleasant place to go.

Recently re-opened, destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. Fine Dining.
I was surprised how long ago it was, that we last dined at The Chimneys in Gulfport. We usually get back about every 18 mos., but it was December, 2015, since we dined there.
The Chimneys is a favorite of ours on the MS Gulf Coast, and has been for many years – from well before Hurricane Katrina destroyed the property.
Due to some family schedules, we decided to do Brunch there, and thinking back, it was the first time doing so. Usually, we just do Dinner, so we were looking forward to something a bit different.
We reserved their earliest seating, 11:00am. We were warmly greeted, and promptly seated, right at the front windows, looking out over the lawn, and the beach, at a 4-top. Though there was sparkling wine with Brunch, I opted for a couple of bottles of still wine instead: Simi Sonoma County Chardonnay ‘16, and La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir ‘15. I was a bit sad to see that the wine list had not expanded, but then the Gulf Coast is not really known as “wine territory.” Cocktails and brews rule. Also, with the ABC laws, maintaining a decent wine list has got to be tough. At least we had these two wines, though I saw a lot of the La Crema on this trip, as it was the “top of the line,” on too many wine lists. Over the course of almost a week, it was pretty much the same wines, over and over, and it made little difference, whether one was dining in a casual, or fine-dining restaurant. The stemware was adequate, but that was about all that I can say. The temp on the Chardonnay was a bit on the cold side, but we let it warm a bit, on the table – saved the server from needing to bring a bucket of ice.
We were in the area, which I would typify as the “front dining room,” and it takes up the full-width of the front of the house. There is a dining area behind it (several large tables there), the bar, and then the front porch. Though it was a lovely February day, it was a bit too breezy to dine on the porch, however lovely that area is. As the front of The Chimneys is mostly windows, and French doors, this are is bright, and then, there is the view across the lawn, with giant live oak trees, draped in Spanish moss, and beyond (across Beach Blvd/US Hwy 90) the beach and Mississippi Sound, a part of the Gulf of Mexico. Our table was nicely set, and adequately large for our party of 3, and the wines. The tables are well-spaced, but ours was close to one set of French doors. Our hostess pointed that out, but we chose to sit there anyway, and I had no issues with the coming and going of the patrons, or the staff. Nice though, that the hostess made us aware of potential issues.
With The Chimneys, one can order from the Brunch, or the Lunch menu on Sunday, and we decided to do a bit of mixing, and matching:
Seafood Gumbo – very good, and they made good on the promise of a “dark roux” version
Chimneys Crab Cakes – also very good, with a nice rémoulade sauce
Trout Meunière Almondine – excellent version of this dish, and one of the best I have had in a few years
Grits & Grillades – good, but Grillades a bit tough
Shrimp & Grits – very good dish, and the Goat Cheese & Cheddar Grits were quite good
There was also a nice Green Salad, with crispy croutons.
Our service was very good, and we wanted for nothing, with the possible exception of a broader wine list, and nicer stemware. We will definitely be back, and hopefully sooner than 2.5 years!

Fresh local seafood and steaks
We were told this was the best seafood in Gulfport area, however when we arrived we discovered they were operating with a limited menu and short staff for Easter. Maybe they should have closed. Our meal was cold and the choices limited to fried, no fresh fish. What we had was OK but not what I would call excellent. Great atmosphere was hampered by a table of foul mouthed bikers who were seated next to us and a family with children. The restaurant cannot be blamed for the behaviour of their guests but it made our experience less then pleasant.

pizza/Italian restaurant
So good. We ordered Spaghetti and Marinara sauce, Spaghetti and Meatballs and a 12 inch Downtown Supreme. The food was awesome. Also got house salad with spaghetti, very good salad with slices of their fabulous focaccia bread. Service great from Cat Stevens look a like.
