For some, a tour of the Queen Mary, docked here since its retirement in 1967, evokes waves of nostalgia for the days of the huge ocean liner with its opulent rooms, 1930s deco décor and teakwood decks. Others, particularly the younger set, are entranced by the spine-tingling haunted ship stories on the nighttime ghost tour. But for everyone, a visit to this floating hotel and museum is a must on any trip to Long Beach. At one time a less-than-appealing place to visit, Long Beach has transformed itself into an upscale tourist resort, with many waterfront attractions, including a new, state-of-the-art aquarium with a fabulous shark exhibit, two excellent art museums, charming shops, public golf courses, the annual April Grand Prix international auto race and lots of recreational activities along its eight-mile stretch of beach. Take the kids to the waterfront entertainment complex with rides and live performances or to the farming demonstrations at Rancho Los Alamitos. Feeling romantic? Cruise the canals of Naples (that's right, Naples Island in Long Beach) in a genuine Venetian gondola. One thing is for sure: tensions and stresses dissolve in this laid-back, friendly city.

Classic American comfort food, crave-able bar snacks, plus unique cocktails & an extensive wine list in an upscale yet casual environment. Nick's is located in the heart of Belmont Shore on 2nd st. Our intimate restaurant features a chic island bar, walls of glass and a spacious outdoor patio, perfect for people watching. Our exhibition kitchen highlights the talents of our passionate culinary team.
This small, unassuming place takes reservations and you definitely need them!! They have indoor and outside patio seating. We went here on a chilly evening so we opted for an inside booth. Good choice!! The waitress was delightful and helped us with suggestions. The tuna tartar was recommended and we surely see why. It was fabulous and a generous portion. Next time, I might make that my main meal. Speaking of main meals, we ordered the Hake and the Salmon. Both were tasty and cooked to perfection. The sides were good. I'm not sure I can come up with a word to best describe the warm butter cake for dessert. WOW!!! OUTRAGEOUS!!! SCRUMPTIOUS!! It was one of the best desserts we have ever had!! Simple, yet textures and taste that left us talking about this dessert for weeks!! My husband has even tried to find out how to make it, all to no avail. We ate here almost 3 weeks ago and we will forever remeber Nick's for the dessert. Maybe we'll have to come all the way from South Florida again just for the dessert!!

My co-workers and I tried the lunch special for take out.....everyone was quite happy with the flavors and quality of the food and service. Sydney helped us as we picked up everything, explaining all the add ins and sides, she was a delight......the fried potatoes are delicious along with our pita sandwiches. The chicken shwarma is fantastic.

George's Greek Cafe welcomes you to "a little piece of Greece in Southern California." Our family-owned business is here to provide you with high quality food, craft cocktails, and an authentic Greek dining experience. Our restaurant has remained a favorite among the locals for one reason: we never compromise on our promise to provide fresh and delicious meals in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We continue to follow Mama Rodou's recipes, which were passed down to her from her grandmother. We use only the finest imported ingredients, such as first cold pressed extra virgin olive oil from Greece and premium, hormone-free, grass-fed lamb from New Zealand. We want to extend an open invitation to you to dine at one of our restaurants. Whether you're looking to impress a date with an intimate wine tasting, reconnecting with family over Saganaki Flaming Cheese and lamb chops, or planning the perfect wedding reception for 500 of your closest friends, we are here for you. Come in, and feel like part of the family. OPA!
Saw George’s on Trip Advisor while on a visit to the Queen and the Aquarium. We often consider the sources when reading reviews, but let us tell you, this restaurant has excellent food and service. After wonderful appetizers of saganaki and dolmathis (and of course a glass of wine along with).
Two of us each ordered the lamb chops (4 per plate...see pic..are more than enough), and the third ordered shrimp souvlaki. Just wow on all of it; loaded with veggies, rice pilaf, pita with tsadziki sauce, all entrees had to be eaten slowly to relish the flavor. The management and the cooks obviously pay much attention to detail. We topped it off with galaktoboureko (delicious traditional custard dish), and a small plate with a more delicious melomakarona, a kourambiethes, and a koulourakia. We ended with coffee that was not run-of-the-mill at all, and what a perfect evening on the heated patio. The bill was very reasonable for all we received, and we were thanked as we left. Beat that.

Attended a business function with 12 people and treated to a wonderful meal at L'Opera. Very personable staff, nice atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed their food choices and appetizers. My sea bass was very tasty; the risotto looked really good too.

Friends and I had our annual Christmas/Holiday dinner here. The view was ok where we sat, other areas have a much better view. We were a group of 5 and were sat next to a wall not a window . The window tables are for parties of two. The service was great. The food was good. Overall we had a good time. Nice historic 1920’s Long Beach Building. The lobby has pictures from the 20’s.

Really, really, really good food. Order at the counter, amazing food delivered to your table in a few minutes. The Brussels and broccoli appetizer is amazing. My daughters loved the clam chowder and the fish tacos. My Yellowtail fish was perfectly cooked and delicious with an herb butter sauce. Great value, attentive service, great food!

I looked forward to this meal, but ultimately the steak was disappointing. It was undercooked the NY Strip was very fatty. The chateaubriand was not as buttery compared to others I have had. The only steak that was excellent was the ribeye. The service was not what befits a restaurant that you are spending more than $120pp. We had a young girl that was not capable of providing excellent service. Water glasses and wine glasses constantly empty. I could have had and expect a better meal at those prices!
