Because I don't smoke, I don't like going home from dinner with my clothes and hair smelling like a cigarette. Just no way of avoiding it in the Sportsman.
I'm thinking for Greene County it's probably okay for a place to go for more than pizza or Mexican food. This experience was disappointing for me since I read the reviews here about how good the food was. We were here many years ago and I wasn't impressed. I thought they were now smoke free so that's why we tried it again. Our mistake. Ordered a steak and salad; the steak was tough and had gristle in it. Ugh. Not good. The salad and baked potato were just fine though. Hubby was able to get the beer he likes the best. (Trying to find good things to say.) Probably tried the Sportsman for the last time.

What else can I say ... the coffee is great and so are the baked goods! We like to go here during the day to get a break and some sweets.

Sundays are open for carry-out only.
It's been a long time since I reviewed the Goose Pond Pizza. It's the same now as it was when they opened in their old place. The place is clean, owners very friendly, the help takes care of their customers with pride and above all the pizza is great. In 2012 we did eat 62 pizzas there but we've toned that number down some.

Local historic diner with a Great burger in unfussy booths. Counter service available. Pork tenderloin is diner special sandwich. Quick table service. You can watch your food cooked on the flat top grill. Dressed cheese burger and fries ( fries just OK) $5.89. Dinner specials under $10 our evening was chicken fried steak.

Deciding what rating depends on the actual experience as we have eaten there numerous times.
Sometimes the food is better than others...maybe it is because what we choose on that particular day.
Normally, it is the best Mexican food within thirty miles of Linton. The service is always outstanding; the staff is friendly, and the food is presented in a way that I like. And the price is very reasonable.
My offerings are always beef and I am seldom disappointed.

Love the thin crust, I really like the Margherita pizza. They have an individual pleaser option on the menu that works out great for my husband and I so we can both get the pizza we want. The sweet and tart salad dressing is awesome. They have a reward program too that you sign up for to earn free food.

Self Serve Frozen Dessert Shop, offering Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt, Dole Whip, Gelato, Frozen Custard and Italian Ice.
Frozen yogurt shop. Look for it downtown just a few doors down from the main street. Typical "buy by the ounce" self-serve....but not the typical taste. This frozen Yo has more intense real flavor and is creamier than others I've had. Probably $4-$5 a person...MoreThank you!

Jerry and Gayle take pride in this chain and do a good job to make sure everything is top notch. The new remodel looks great. This is the best McDs around.

we liked to go on the weekends when they have crab and crawdads the past couple times we have gone we were disappointed in the food. crawdads were bland no flavor whatsoever. no crab. each time we have been back thinking it was just an off night or something we were met with the same for a meal . went out very unsatisfied. the spices were off on just about everything we tried.

Good food and good prices. Nice little small town café. Can get very busy at lunch time. Go early to get a seat.
