This place is great! The service is always wonderful. On our first visit there, we mentioned it was our first visit. Our waitress brought us three things to sample. Needless to say, we were sold and have been back several times. Tasty food and good prices.

We like the Sage Cafe best of all the casual places in Barona. The menu is extensive, even offering Asian food. Desserts are good, portions are large. No alcohol is offered. There can be a wait during busy periods.
Ask to sit in the atrium/patio for great views.

The Yogurt Mill is a great place for yogurt. Flavors change regularly as do special dietary offerings; sugar free, lactose free, etc. They have a language all their own to order, be sure to ask for a "Dropped Cup". Also, make sure your "Eyes aren't bigger than your stomach". Servings are jumbo! Enjoy winter or summer but if it's hot a lot of friendly people will be in line with you. Just be patient, it's worth it.

Located in Santee, Ca, Mary's Donuts has been going strong for over 26 years! We are open 24/7. We have the largest Apple Fritters you can find and a wide selection of donuts and bagels. We serve house blend, Starbucks, and Farmer Brothers coffee.
I stopped into Mary's Donuts in Santee the other day and tried a few of their donuts. I looked around and saw that Mary's has a wide range of donuts. Some that I had never seen before. There prices were reasonable, and there was a lot of people in the small donut shop. While you are waiting in line, employees are giving out samples of the donuts for you to try. But after looking around at everything I finally saw my donut ! The Maple Bacon Bars. These Maple Bacon Bars look a little like, and taste a lot like the famous Voodoo Donuts bacon donuts in Portland Oregon. I will definitely be back to Mary's Donuts.

This is located within the barona casino in the food court. As with other places inside this food court there are great deals. There are a number of pastries that are a fraction of what you would have to pay on the outside. Really great deals on the coffee drinks also.

After many stops at various "BBQ" places, we found a winner...for the area! Being from Texas, I am a bit of a BBQ/smoked meat snob, and so far this is the best place I have found. Tried the ribs and chicken platter, and the ribs were fall off the bone tasty, and the chicken was nicely smoked and not dry. We got our with the sauce on the side, as I didn't want the meat swimming in extra sauce. The sauce was OK, but I preferred the flavor of the meat without the added sauce on top. The baked beans were good, only warm int he bowl, would have liked them a little warmer temp when served. Also tried the onion rings...those were good! Overall, we will probably go back...it is a nice treat when we don't want to light up our own smoker.

ur award-winning buffet will take you on an around-the-world culinary journey with a variety of unique destinations — Seafood, Mexican, Chinese, Dim Sum, Mongolian, American BBQ, Rotisserie, Soup & Salad, Omelet & Crepe, Seasons Selections, Ship of Seafood, and Dessert & Flambé – and over 200 individual menu selections. While you’re here, don’t miss our popular Ship of Seafood, featuring favorites such as smoked salmon, smoked whitefish, and bay shrimp; our Seasons Selection station with monthly seasonal themes and delicious offerings; and daily specials at our Rotisserie station. All these offerings and more are included in our buffet price of $29.99.
I usually visit this buffet almost once a year because I love the huge variety and value of this buffet. My first visit to this buffet was in 1991 (I was a seven-year-old at that time) when I used to live in CA. up until October 1999; back then, the buffet and casino was much smaller, and was inside pink circus tents. After my parents and I moved to AR, I started going back to this buffet almost each time I visit CA. since 2003. Since 2003, Barona Casino expanded greatly to the current buffet and casino we see today, and prices were much cheaper than the current price. However, prices kept rising each year. This year during my recent visit in April, the price of the buffet was $29.99--prices are consistent across all meal times. One could get 20% off of the price if you have a Classic Club Barona player's card. However, I just learned today that all of this has changed considerably (more of this later in this review).
The Seasons Fresh/Ranch House buffet is expansive, and one can get several different cultural offerings in one meal (e.g., salads/bakery, Chinese, American, Mexican, Italian, Mongolian, seafood, crepes, desserts)! When I first saw this in the early 2000s and to the present, I was hooked on it immediately! My favorite food in the whole buffet is their creamy Macaroni and Cheese; they do this so well, and it is the most delectable Macaroni and Cheese I ever tasted! Their Lumpias are also impressive (Lumpias are difficult to find in the eastern US unless if you have an Asian/Filipino restaurant/store)! Their Steamed Rice is perfect as it is supposed to be sticking together--some Chinese restaurants do not allow their rice to stick properly. Their Mexican offerings are also excellent. I also enjoyed their variety of Italian food offerings as well. For the value that you pay, this buffet is certainly worth every penny, and is the best buffet I ever ate!
A new walkway is now present to get you very close to the buffet without you having to go through the main part of the casino; they even have employees transport you by a golf cart and a tricycle if you do not want to walk! Wait times vary for seating. People may not like the busy times--the lines can get quite long, but it is well worth the wait if you are waiting for two hours or under. During busy times, they use a reservation system just like what happened during my recent visit, and the console goes off when you are ready to get in line to pay for the meal before entering the dining area. The servers are excellent; they do well with taking the plates off of the tables and replenishing your drinks for the very most part. One interesting factoid is that they used to serve grapefruit juice as it is one of my favorite juices; they stopped serving it about two years or so ago.
As an update on the current price as of August 1st since my April visit, the original current price of $29.99 now jumped up $15.00 to $44.99. The 20% perk for the Classic player's card is now non-existent; the catch is that you must get 500 points (i.e., this equates to spending $250 playing Slots or Keno, or $500 on Video Poker--you can be rated at table games) on the Classic card in a calendar day and redeem them on the same day at the buffet in order to receive a price of $23.99 (which is still 20% off the original $29.99 price, or just over 47% off the new price).
Because of this drastic change in price and serious downgrade from a perk of 20% off on the Classic card to a catch, this may change my view of visiting this outstanding buffet as often as I used to do even though the value is still excellent. The recent change hurts low rollers and out-of-state visitors greatly if wanting a significant discount on the Classic card (i.e., just over 47% off), and this is more of a focus toward Southern Californian residents who frequent the casino. So, please be aware of the recent change in pricing of this buffet and its perk structure for their player's card.

I heard a lot about this place so we finally went! The sandwiches were huge. I got the roast beef and the flavor really wasn't that over the top compared to other good deli sandwiches. Perhaps because it was a basic sandwich. My boyfriend got a different sandwich and he said it was excellent! Next time we would get the smallest size because they truly are HUGE sandwiches. Also get there early or not at lunchtime because they get very crowded and you can be waiting for at least 1/2 hour to get your sandwich. I do believe you can call in your sandwiches too.

I always hate to say, Just another Starbucks. But that means that it had a friendly staff and a fresh hot cup of coffee. This one of course did. Seeing a Starbucks anywhere you are traveling, you can be assured there will be friendly people, fresh snacks and coffee and it will be clean.
This one met all of the above criteria, There was a long line at the drive through so I elected to go inside. Again there were quite a few people in line but a couple more baristas came out from the back and started quickly taking orders. I was in and out very quickly. The interior was very clean and the staff friendly, There was plenty of close parking and it was a pleasant experience!
