When people find a great vacation getaway, they keep coming back. This 32-mile-long "Queen of American Lakes" is chock-full of lodging, attractions, eateries and just about any form of recreation you can name. A significant player in American history, Lake George is the site of two great forts, Fort William Henry and Fort Ticonderoga, both open to the public. Before plunging into the myriad activities in this family-friendly town, start off with a relaxing lake cruise to learn about the area. Then, take your pick of recreation: parasailing, fishing, diving, jet skiing, hiking, golfing, minigolf, horseback riding and more. If you've got kids in tow, you can't get away without visiting the Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom, New York's largest amusement park. Hikers gravitate to the international trail system or Prospect Mountain, which offers panoramic views from the top; for an easier way up, hop on the tram. Among the cleanest and clearest of major U.S. lakes, Lake George is as splendid today as when Thomas Jefferson described it as "...without comparison, the most beautiful water I ever saw."

We had a perfect experience last night. We arrived when they opened and everyone was attentive. We loved their house wines at a great price of $7. The smaller plates were plenty and everything spot on. I would encourage more fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon on some of the fish dishes but they all are yummy! Give them a try.

Such a good deal. Salad. Entree. Dessert. Bread/crackers. I had the shrimp scampi - good. Portion was great. My bf had the sirloin steak with fries - also big portion. So much food for such a good price. Only thing is that a lot of the other patrons are elderly since it's an early bird special but I didn't mind it.

The Lake George Steamboat Company was incorporated in 1817 to operate steamboats on Lake George, New York. It is the oldest company in the Lake George region. The Lake George Steamboat Company currently operates three boats: The Minne-Ha-Ha, the Mohican II, which has been in continuous service for over 100 years and is the oldest passenger vessel in the United States, and the Lac Du Saint Sacrement, the largest and most luxurious of the three. You can choose from hour long cruises to a full length trip of the lake. Join us for lunch or dinner cruises, fireworks cruises, moonlight with entertainment cruises or simple sightseeing cruises.
This was a relaxing getaway ... long enough to enjoy the breeze, get a nice look at the shoreline and see four other steamboats making their way up the lake... and also got a very close look at five of the para-gliders as they passed very near us.
The speakers were located at various points throughout the boat, and on different levels, but have to say... from our seat, top deck and very near the stern... we could only catch occasional words or phrases of the Captain's tour.
If you're depending on that info for a pop-quiz on Lake George, find a better seat with less noise and distractions... but if you just want a really lovely view of the water, shoreline, other boats and a breeze, it was a great way to spend part of our day in Lake George.
The boat was equipped with a bar (lots of beer flowing), as well as a variety of snacks (popcorn, ice cream) and a cute little souvenir shop.
What I liked most, though, was the fact that there is a cute little setup before you board where they snap a casual photo of your party and the photo package is available for purchase by the time the boat docks an hour later.
A little pricey...? Sure. A really nice souvenir...? You bet! It's a great memento of our trip, with the date already added to the photo, and including a frame representing the boat... and the pictures are available in more than one size... as well as the option (for an additional fee) to buy the digital rights so you can download from the internet and send copies to as many family & friends as you wish.
We've done this twice before, and one of those casual snapshots is dated more than fifteen years ago, and includes my parents ... both of whom have since passed away. That casual snapshot is a treasured reminder of a great day we all spent together... so, yeah, worth every penny!

We specialize in coffee roasting. Best espresso beverages presented with free pour latte art! We proud ourselves in delivering the best product around. We make our own bagels and baked goods, including doughnuts. Delicious and fast breakfast and lunch you can enjoy next to the beautiful real wood fireplace. Breakfast and lunch served until 3 pm.
We had yelped a decent breakfast spot near our hotel and Cafe Vero kept coming up at the top. Their mocha was fabulous as was the hot chocolate with whipped cream. The homemade Breads and pastries were delicious and my son especially liked the banana filled pancakes. Great prices good service in a pleasant atmosphere. I would definitely recommend for a family breakfast.

Always a great place for breakfast. Large portions. Sllightly higher than your regular restaurant, but worth it. We found that going there between 9 and 9:30 you can get seated immediately. After that, expect to have a wait. Wait staff very friendly and competent. Love the pot of coffee left on your table.

Our annual Marine Corps reunion brought us to Lake George. First day lunch was at the Old Log Inn. Service was so-so. Because they had only one waitress serving the bar and the restaurant . Once our order had been placed, we waited for nearly an hour before our food was delivered. Poor service considering there was only one other group in the restaurant. Seems bar money is more important than restaurant service. In defense of the waitress, she was the only one on duty. Poor planning on the part of management.

George's Restaurant specializes in serving prime meats, seafood, poultry and fresh produce daily. We offer a full service salad bar along with a two house-made soup offering. Our service staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The decor is unique with hanging Tiffany style lamps in a beautiful log cabin setting. We invite you to come join us for a great experience! You'll be so glad you did.
The soup and salad bar were very good. Most of us had the prime rib and shrimp scampi the scampi was a little bland but the prime rib was very good. And portions were very good.
Our server was left a little to be desired. Very loud and hovered over our table including himself in our conversations.
The girl bussing the tables was rather quick to pick things up too, as if rushing to get us out.

Locally inspired farm to table cuisine located in a 19th century Queen Ann mansion on the shores of Lake George NY. Enjoy fine dining and eloquent lodging in 10 unique suites that match the style of the Inn.
We recently had dinner there, and it was somewhat of a disappointment.
What was originally a stone mansion overlooking Lake George has now been cobbled into a wedding venue and restaurant, neither of which is ideal.
If your destination is a wedding venue, you will not have the entire house to yourself because it is still a restaurant and inn that is open to the public. If it is a restaurant you’re looking for, it may well be overrun with large wedding.
The original building is undoubtedly elegant and beautiful, and it has a rich history. There is a delightful stone terrace overlooking Lake George, but the view has been obstructed with a number of box-like timeshares between the inn and the lake. The view is still impressive, but it is significantly detracted by the rental units and the pool. You can get a better, if not more humble, view from the Blue Water, further up the lake.
As for the food, it was was average, as was the service, considering the price. It was not worth the fairly substantial tariff.
In short, I might go back but it is not the breathtaking locale that it purports to be.
