"The Festival Capital of Louisiana," Lake Charles hosts over 75 festivals each year, the most famous being Mardi Gras, the second largest in the state. The annual celebration attracts revelers with Cajun cook-offs, a children's carnival and a lighted boat parade. The city celebrates its local heritage with "Louisiana Pirate Festival," a two week long party in honor of the pirates that once sailed the local lake. The Central School Arts & Humanities Center is a stop on the African American Heritage Trail.

We chose this restaurant because it was on Open Table and we had a gift card. We couldn't have been happier! Fun vibe, we each had one of their specialty cocktails to start and they were excellent. The rest of the meal was great, very good service from our server Grant and on of the managers stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal. It's located in the Golden Nugget which is a lot of fun to walk around before or after your meal.

It’s not going to blow you away with ambiance or service but the Darrell’s Special is as good as advertised. Make sure to get it with the jalapeños mayo. I actually like the grilled shrimp poboy just as much. It would be cool if you could get fries instead of chips but that’s minor.
You haven’t been to LC until you’ve had the Darrell’s Special!

Popped in for an early dinner around 5 dined alone. Great steak for reasonable prices compared to the fancy other steak place in the casino. Good service and a decent price glass of. Cab. I ordered filet med rare and it was more on the rare side but still flavorful and good sides.

Whenever we are close to Steamboat Bill’s, we arrange our schedule to include a stop there. It is always crowded for a reason. There is a reason the locals eat here. It serves big portions of very good seafood. Beware & don’t order “large” orders of anything & prepare for leftovers- yum yum

I'm feeling satisfyingly well fed after a meal of grilled fish with fries and Texas toast, preceded by a bowl of crunchy salad. The fish was so fresh it may well have been alive minutes before it arrived. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. The restaurant isn't smart or fancy. It's more friendly, ordinary, homespun with excellent service. It was full with people waiting for seats, and there was a steady stream of customers coming to pick up takeways. I'd go back again, no problem. Menu has plenty of options and includes chicken dishes as well as fish and other seafood.

This was our second year to eat at Mazens.
It was every bit as great this year! We take in our own fresh caught Redfish and ask them to cook it six different ways. Each dish was just outstanding. The wine list was excellent and each offering was paired perfectly with our dinner. A wonderful soufflé finished off the perfect dinner. We finished off the night in the bar watching the Texas Longhorns win their football game.
Looking forward to next year!

We try something new every time and everything has been wonderful. With picky eaters in the family it’s nice to go somewhere everyone is happy. The Neptune Melt is my favorite, grilled yellowfin tuna, provolone, pickles and jalapeño mayo and is served with fries. $11.50

Enjoy our buffet featuring seven different action stations including fresh soups and salads, seafood, Asian, Mexican, Italian, American comfort and carving stations - surrounded by an all new, modern design.
Who doesnt love and all you can eat buffet, especially when it involves steak and seafood, and good quality at that! And I cant leave out the rows of dessert either. If you want a hearty meal, at a decent price, with a variety of dishes, topped with slow service, this is it. I certainly have been coming for Brunch and Dinner for a long time, and plan to continue that, its great fun with a large group of friends.

There is a reason this place is #1 in Southwest Louisiana! So good! Atchaflaya Fish dinner with the fish on the side super good! Shrimp gumbo was good too. And those rolls are unmatched! It's worth the stop!
