Sal & Judy’s is one of those gourmet restaurants with a neighborhood feel. The simple rural restaurant is rich in family tradition and history, from its unchanging menu to its walls lined with old black and white photos from the Impastato home in Sicily and of Chef Sal’s early days in the industry. The clientele is significantly locals and loyally returning customers, some of whom have been coming back for over 30 years. His customers just cannot seem to get enough of Chef Sal’s Creole Italian dishes.
The Veal Parmesan was superb as was the pasta with olive oil and sauteed oysters. Dining at its best! Very professional staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about
the menu and wines.
Chef Sal was on the premises visiting with guests and directing staff.
Diners all seemed to be enjoying their selections.
No place better.

My wife and I tried Liz's for the first time Christmas eve morning. It was very crowded but the staff was excellent and efficient to handle the crowd and the wait was minimal. We ordered omelet and eggs benedict w/ petite filet. Both were very good and we will certainly order again.

Those in the know frequent La Provence. If you have not been here in a while, it's time to return. New ownership is excellent! From service to ambiance to the absolutely excellent cuisine we loved everything and will be back as soon as possible! The Chef gave us a personal tour of the gardens, the piggies and the bees we fell in love!

A friend and I meet here every few months for a girls' dinner and are never disappointed. The service is mediocre but they are bustling each visit. The chips are fresh, the salsa is medium spicy and delicious, the margaritas are great, and the steak fajitas (my go-to) are perfect. It's an old house converted to a restaurant so it's got a cozy atmosphere for the most part.

Nuvolari’s is a warm and inviting Italian restaurant, nestled on the Northshore of New Orleans in Old Mandeville. For over 33 years, loyal customers have enjoyed Italian food, friendship and celebrations around our tables. Nuvolari’s menu features traditional Italian fare alongside creative fresh dishes. Dining options include intimate indoor seating with a relaxed exterior patio. Live music on Wednesdays and seasonal wine events keep things exciting. Our wine list is appreciated by both connoisseurs and newcomers, with a diverse selection by the glass and bottle. Open Table consistently recognizes Nuvolari’s with Most Romantic and Neighborhood Gem awards. New Orleans food critic Tom Fitzmorris gives it four stars. Nuvolari’s– an unhurried culinary experience, just two blocks from Lake Ponchartrain. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Went for date night and the food was just ok. Ordered the meatball appetizer, which really was fantastic. Both ordered a drink, which was good and the garlic served with the bread and butter is super amazing. The main course was lacking. One of us ordered a seafood dish, which didn't have much taste/seasoning. The other ordered a typical Italian dish and the sauce was VERY bland. At the end, one of us found a metal shaving in our food. Very disappointing. Probably will not return.

I've been here at least 2 dozen times over the last couple of years. They have a great burger and fries, the chicken tenders are juicy and delicious, but the boneless hot wings are really good. Breakfast sandwiches are OK, donuts are fresh daily. My kids love going to Rocko's, I've also had some of their plate lunches. They are pretty good as well.

Hey, this place is really good! Been trying to find Mexican food with some semblance of actual spice since arriving in the area last October. Though Navarro's food doesn't come close to the incendiary level of the New Mexican food we'd grown accustomed to in New Mexico and Arizona, the food is darned good. My wife's shrimp tacos were indeed downright spicy-hot. My enchiladas were very good, with red sauce that tasted like it should—roasted red chile—and quite tangy sauce verde made from tomatillos. This place is a keeper.

Po boys, sandwiches, burgers, sides, gourmet pizza, salads, appetizers, and daily hot specials are featured in this comfortable neighbood cafe. They open at 11:00AM, close 9:00PM Mondays to Saturdays. I had spaghetti with three huge meatballs, corn, and French bread and it was very good and the roast beef po boy had been an oven roast carved in homemade gravy.

I have been eating at Char Lou's for years. Anytime I visit the area I have a poor boy or some other Cajun Comfort Food. Year after year it is the same....nothing fancy just good food, nice folks and it is easy on the purse.
