For centuries the English Inn has earned a great reputation for friendly faces, cozy rooms and cheery firesides. As soon as guests come to the Inn, the charming hosts and hostesses run to greet them. In front of a crackling fire one can partake of good hearty fare - the tankard is always full - the spit hung with roasting beefs - and a table heaped with sweets and such. The Inn Keepers of the Summit House are inspired by this custom to create an hospitable place where friends can meet to eat, drink and delight in the views of North Orange County's countryside. To one and all, welcome!
Surprised to learn that this place was founded in 1989, as it felt like restaurants I went to as a kid in the 1960s and 1970s with my parents ... including the my-unadventurous-parents-would-love-this menu and the piano repertoire. It was pretty flashback-y for me. The food was good, but not as great as the prices suggested. My salad that included oranges showed up, unfortunately, with canned mandarin slices; this, in prime orange-growing territory. Yet another restaurant that clearly wishes vegetarians didn't exist; however, they did have one off-menu option. Nice views all around from the location, and pretty grounds. The place was full--and holds a lot of people--so I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't unbearably noisy. We were pleasantly surprised by a free dessert for our anniversary.

Eclectic california cuisine/happy hour/onsite retail wine shop/hidden gem/must try
We went to a Matinee at the Mark Taper in Los Angeles and rather that find some local place near by and later get stuck in traffic, we headed back to our neck of the woods. We love the Cat and Custard Cup and usually come for dinner.
This time, we came around 6 pm to the "The Cat" as we locals now seem to refer to it. We sat in the bar area between the main dining area above the sunken dining area, nice & cozy with limited seating.
We ordered our favorite but pricey cocktails: Cosmopolitan and Sazerac. Our appetizers followed with their excellent sweet glazed pork bellies & grilled green beans.
We had good time, drinks and food was great....Plan to be back for a repeat encore.

We ordered a pastrami sandwich, a pastrami burger and a cheeseburger. The pastrami sandwich was big! Piled high with thinly sliced pastrami on a French roll. Mmm. If you like pastrami, this is definitely the place to go. The pastrami burger is a hamburger topped with pastrami meat and all the burger fixings. It was really good. Their cheeseburger was also very good. On a side note, we didn't order their chili cheese fries, but someone else in the restaurant did. Their order was huge and looked very tempting. But there was no more room in our bellies for this visit. Next time ;)

We have been getting eMails about joining Taps for their 18 year Anniversary and if you come, you get a burger for $2.99....such a deal! So, my wife & I went on a Friday as the promo offer was based on the first 300 orders...MoreOh no! We're sorry you missed it but are happy to hear you stayed to celebrate with us and share some great food. We hope to welcome you back soon.

We had made reservations for an 80th bday party and they gave us the entire patio. The service was awesome for 25 people and the food was really good too. Next time we're in town, we'll be back for sure.

We keep coming back to Rutabegorz. Love their salads, soups and omelettes. Only problem is that it can be very noisy during busy hours. Ask for a quiet table.

Pleasant server who was efficient and helpful, good fries, nice and hot and the burger was a step up from other fast food burgers but to be honest the restaurant was a bit tired, leather seating had remains of drinks dried on so I was moving around to find a clean seat. I had been here about a year ago and thought it had gone down since then, although it was too cold last time too.

This was our first trip to the Brea location. This restaurant seemed noisier than Irvine. My fried chicken was very good. The fish tacos were also very good. The lemon chicken was excellent.
The disappointment was the Bison meat loaf. The presentation was good. But The meat was mushy and tasted like it had too much breadcrumb filler and ketchup. Frankly we should have returned it and gotten something else.
The pumpkin cheesecake and apple deserts were very good.

To celebrate my long-time friend's birthday, we decided to meet for breakfast at Arthur's.
I was impressed with the attentiveness of the wait staff, the huge omelette which I ordered and the speed of its delivery to our table. My friend chose the huevos rancheros and found it OK (she is used to a different preparation of the tortilla). We both were pleased that the staff allowed us to eat and talk there for two hours! without making us feel as though we should "get out, since we are done eating."

My cousin brought me here for lunch and we really enjoyed the food. Service was very friendly and efficient. I had a Barbecue Chicken Salad, which was very crisp and full of fresh ingredients. It was huge with lots of freshly sauteed chicken and a creamy dressing with barbecue sauce. I had to take half home. Delicious crusty hot rolls fresh out of the oven were served with the salad. My cousin got a submarine sandwich, the small one, which was still large enough to take half home. It was loaded with lots of lunch meat and cheese on a nice Italian roll. The prices are very reasonable and the food was so good we plan to return again soon and bring friends for dinner.
