Don’t know what all the fuss is about. Ok it’s hard to find western food on Ko Kut, if you want a break from Thai food. I have eaten thousands of pizzas at many Italian restaurants and the pizzas here are thin and crispy, but the Hawaiian, the ham was not salty, so all you taste is pineapple, the base is tasteless.
The homemade ravioli pasta was too thick and chewy and came covered and awash with sauce. Ravioli should have a silken texture, and not drowned in huge quantities of sauce. It also came with two cold slices of white bread on the side? Bruschetta dry and mediocre. BUT overall it is a good Italian for Thailand, just don’t go expecting too much.

Certainly an amazing dining experience at this cosy diner tucked away at the end of mangrove swamp. Especially for guests staying at Soneva Kiri, mins away by speed boat, our butler reserved the dinner reservation and what an experience !
The menu items are reserved to what the diner's signature chef, Khun Benz, can get her hands on, for the day and just seat back and be prepared to be thrilled by a gastronomic journey. I would recommend any guests staying at Soneva Kiri to dine here.
For non-resort guests, best get their resort to reserve in advance to avoid disappointment or "perceived" disservice. The diner commands a premium and certainly so.

We have been several times for breakfast, very chilled out with beautiful views. Mango and sticky rice delicious. I liked the staff, no false happy clappy smiles for the tourists. If your looking for this go elsewhere. I think the very young girl serving does a wonderful job, understands English well, yes we are British, so perhaps that helps. Food comes quickly and freshly prepared. I feel the staff are shy, rather than stone faced as other reviews have said. Also good german bread. Beautiful in the evening when they light all the candles, very pretty, love the soft chillin music.

Small but cozy family restaurant with the most delicious and cheapest food on the Koh Kood island.
After ordering a coconut shake, we waited more then 1h and got three times disrespectful answers when it will arrive. The food arrived after 2.5h. The other guests on our table left the restaurant because of the waiting already after 1h. BUT the red curry was exceptionally good. BUT the service was horrible lazy.

Great food for Thai and Western menu. More expensive compare to the normal restaurants on Koh Kood but of course you pay more for the better!

This place is truly wonderful. It doesn't look much from the outside but the quality of food and the view is yet to be beaten in Thailand for us.
A beautiful setting over the bay, if you can get a seat on the benches overlooking the water that is a real treat. Service and food was superb. Nothing was wrong. We came here twice and we loved both visits. Would recommend the grilled prawns and squid. Also the green curry is fantastic. In fact everything we ordered was perfectly cooked and flavoured. Would love to come back to this little gem one day, best restaurant in Ko kood. The owners were lovely and friendly.

Unfortunately, ownership of this coffee shop has meanwhile changed ... its now called "Veggie Cafe".
Based on the old favorable reviews and feeling a strong craving for a proper cappuccino, we drove all the way there from the north of the island ...
We ordered a hot cappuccino, were served with a cold one ... when we tried to change it for a hot cappuccino, the owner basically sent us packing, saying that he did not want to serve us ....
Anyway, if you want a real cappuccino, please go to View Point cafe .... lesson learned !

The food here is very tasty and the portions are large! Varied, large menu and great atmosphere... eaten here twice already and plan to go again tonight. The restaurant is packed in the evenings, with many people returning night after night! You do have to wait a little while for the food, but the atmosphere is great so the time passes quickly.

Upfront, the bbq fish is great, really done very nice. Bbq in Aluminium foil, with some nice herbs, very soft and juicy, I really liked that. It was not the dry bbq fish like you get from some Thai restaurants. I would not say that it is cheap, quite average. The price for the prawns is even totally exaggerated (150 to 200 a piece, you get in “ra beang mai” Restaurant which you can only find on google maps 6 pcs for 300 in same size, quality and taste).
It is sad that they do not really have side dishes for the BBQ because they adjusted to European style of one dish per person. Anyway they were flexible and also served us simply fried vegetables as side dish. House wine comes from the carton and is only soso. Atmosphere was strange for me. As we arrived you were shifted around from a to b to c from the receptionist, who tried with an exaggerated friendliness to welcome you but for is it felt strange and quite stressed. Yes the waiters and waitresses are Europeans, which I do not mind but sure they could smile a little bit more. Despite some comments, yes they serve Thai food. Waiting time is long, but they let you know from the beginning and all restaurants with good food had really long waiting times on this island. So summary: really great bbq but a little bit strange atmosphere.

We were staying at the very expensive, High Season Resort and rented some motorbikes one day, to tour the island on our own. We stumbled on this place by accident. Followed the signs, down a rutted up dirt road to find this terrific bar and resort on a beautiful beach! Lovely view and affordable drinks and food. We ordered a "large" Sangria that showed up in a big fish bowl with tons of fruit and a coconut ladle to serve up your glass. Staff was friendly, great service and we loved the soft jazz music playing in the background!
