Lots of fresh toppings, very reasonably priced. Would definitely eat there again, wish we had one where we lived! Only downside was no sides like wings.

We ordered our meal and within 15 minutes it was ready. Cooked to perfection, hot and delicious.Staff are very efficient and you are told how long it will take to be ready. Have a nice table you can sit at to wait or you can wait in your car. They will let you know right away.

Over the past five years I have lunched at Pagoda Restaurant a total of eight or nine times. What brings me back is consistency... each and every time the food has been good or very good, Chef's Specials portions have been large, service has been satisfactory, and the price has been right.
The menu is typical smaller community Canadian-Chinese... nothing exotic, so no Dim Sum, no Peking Duck (nor duck of any kind), no fish, no minority-Chinese cuisines (Hakka, Schezuan, Hunan, etc.) But with that said, the Canadian-Chinese menu is relatively extensive with sufficient choices to make decision making a pleasant problem, and the menu does include Shanghai and Singapore noodle specialties, as well as a reasonable number of "Chef's Specialties".
As noted in at least one prior review, the ambiance is a bit retro... basically a typical old-fashioned spacious Canadian diner with comfortable booths and a few stools for Seating at a service counter... brightly lit, clean and odour-free. So not a "destination" or "special occasions" ambiance, but comfortably familiar.
Most recent experiences include Tai Dop Woey, Singapore Noodles, Shanghai Noodles (fat noodles) and Sweet & Sour Soup. All were Very Good. In fact the Sweet & Sour Soup was every bit as good as I have ever had anywhere... a really substantial meal by itself, chock full of tofu, slices of four or five different vegetables and pieces of Chinese pork... topped with chopped scallions both for flavor and for visual presentation.
Tea comes in a ceramic pot, so no messy spills from the usual metal tea pots. Chop sticks are available upon request.
Pagoda also offers a full standard Canadian diner menu with very reasonable prices, suitable for dining on a budget, but I have no personal experience with anything from that menu... I have always gone to Pagoda for the Chinese menu, and will return again.
Bottom line... good to very good Canadian-Chinese meals with very reasonable prices in a clean comfortable retro ambiance.
Additional notes:
- Clean washrooms
- Not LLBO licensed

We go to the teck every now and then for lunch. It is always great. I love their homemade soups and sandwiches. A lot of times we also have pie. Always great. They serve a lot of deep fried apps. Burgers. Steaks(which I have yet to try) sometimes the service can a slower if it it busy.... but the servers are always very friendly.

Food was decent, had to try their famous hand cut potato chips - tasty but a little greasy. The western Sandwich was served on a "focaccia" bun, a little too much bread. However, the chicken gumbo was excellent. As good as gumbo I had down South in the States. Nice and flavourful, and not too spicy. Delicious.

I was here in late August with family who lives in KL. There aren't a lot of restaurants in this town, so I guess the enthusiasm for The Dish is more about perspective than anything else. It was a prix fixe menu and I am vegan and so did not actually expect to be accommodated for anything other than a salad (on menu as first course). BUT the chef and the server wouldn't even serve me a salad (app on menu) without cheese on it. That's right, they refused to serve me a salad sans cheese. Not even the meatiest, snobbiest hipsterest place in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, or Halifax (or even Sudbury) would've refused to serve me a salad. This dude needs to put aside ego and be adaptable if he wants to make a name outside of KL. Great local beer choices though! On another note they were really pushy to the rest of the table regarding timing (i.e.: you have to order NOW because the table needs to be available in 90 minutes). Not the place to come and relax over a glass of wine before or after dinner. Flexibility and timing are not the Dish's fortes.
