Working out of Kingwood today, I was warned they have a lot of fast food, limited in dining options, was recommended I try Monroe's, and I am glad I did. It's really a home-town cooking joint, everything that came out, I was drooling over.

I don't think I"ve ever eaten at Dairy Queen when the food wasn't hot or tasty and the service wasn't good. A variety of DQ treats and hot items to choose from at a great price. The employers are always kind and efficient. The place is very clean and the parking is abundant.

I ordered the carnitas and it was unseasoned dry shredded pork. No delicious moist greasy flavor that I expected. It made me think of meat from a bbq sandwich without the sauce. I tried putting salsa on it but no help, so I only ate the rice instead. My husband tried it and agreed it was bad, but others at the table seemed to like their food.

This little restaurant is right along the street with metered parking. Handicapped parking further down the street. No steps to enter coffee and food area. A variety of table sizes, and counter top seating. A relaxing fireplace and living room like setting with sofa and loveseat. Two bathrooms no handicapped rails or raised toilet seat in the first restroom. Not sure about the second restroom. If you plan to dine here go to the counter, order then you will be given a number, and food will be delivered to your table. Cold drinks are in the little cooler or a variety of coffee at the counter to chose from.

Ate lunch here on a Saturday in August. The two young ladies working here were very personable. It was not very busy, although the one lady said they had been for breakfast. I had a bowl of stuffed pepper soup and it was great! I also had a foot-long chili dog. The chili was very good and the slightly toasted bun was a nice touch. I took a cherry pie with me and it was also very good! The prices were very reasonable. I was very impressed with this small eatery.

Besides the many delicous choices on the menu, the salad bar can't be beat. There's a terrific variety of items on the salad bar, along with 2 soups daily, homemade breads, and muffins.

WOW! What a fabulous place.
There is now way you’re going to walk away hungry.
Huge salad bar, charming decore, prompt and friendly service, and the prices, MAN!
Four adults for under $70 and very good food!
Our table ordered 2 plates of Salmon Bruschetta, the Korean Chicken and that night it was all you can eat Fish and Chips.
What a fabulous building, an old B&B, The Preston County Inn, you can just feel the history here.
Go, sit, have a beverage, eat, it's wonderful. Thank you Jean.

My family and I were very disappointed with the quality of the food here. The hot roast beef sandwich was too salty and there was not much roast beef on the sandwich. My husband said his steak hoagie was no better than a frozen, microwaveable sandwich. The sweet tea was overly sweet and weak tasting. The only positive aspect was the friendly and attentive server.

Fox's is one of our favorite pizzarias. The delivery is not always quick but I think that's because of lack of drivers. But the food is good and there are weekly specials that everyone would enjoy.

We stopped for lunch and they were very busy. They worked their way through the line and got our lunch prepared. Subway's food is the same wherever you go, service is what makes them different. The service here is good and makes it a good place to eat your lunch when you are in Kingwood.
