Having travelled eighty miles in the wrong direction to come especially to Braidwoods the question is was the journey worth it?The simple and unequivocal answer is YES.The Restaurant always impresses with its brilliantly well balanced menu, superb fresh produce, immaculate napery, cutlery and glasses and excellent staff. The wine list is also a labour of love with multitudes of great wines to suit all tastes and pockets.Nicola and Keith Braidwood continue to run a highly professional operation and their success is well deserved. If you are anywhere within a hundred miles of Dalry do make a reservation...you will not be disappointed!

The Ship Inn is a traditional pub which dates back to the 1500s. It was here that Robert Burns found that his poetry was more than just a hobby and the proprietor Charles Hamilton helped fund Burns first publication. We have been a family run business with a hands on approach to service and customer interaction since 1989. The Pub has a strong food operation which serves traditional pub food to a high standard. Food is made on site by our team of chefs using locally sourced fresh ingredients. Booked online, really easy and efficient. Had heard good things about the Ship Inn so our party of 4 plus small dog we're looking forward to lunch. Arrived in a warm vibrant pub/restaurant with lovely open fires, fantastic.... we were then directed to the dog friendly area, a drab, cramped area off the main bar. I was quite cool until I swapped places with my husband and sat beside a warm fan heater. Disappointing.
Good menu, my brother had fish and chips, fish was lovely but chips were poor, my husband and nephew had the large steak pie which they loved. Tasty and fresh with crispy puff pastry, nice veg but poor mash. I had the Haggis neeps and tatties, the turnip was lovely but the haggis was gloopy and very underseasoned and the mash wasn't nice.
The staff were lovely, very professional and friendly (one of them brought our dog some treats which he loved).
Mixed feelings about the food but really disliked the second rate area that they use for people with dogs.

Excellent mid week meal, booked at short notice, staff very helpful and attentive especially towards our toddler in the group, good choice from menu, home made burgers popular with our party - very filling! Macaroni dish was a delight, good bistro atmosphere and tables not too close.

Hadn't been here for a couple of years although we never booked and it was really busy we only waited 5 mins for a table. Food was even better than I had remembered, service was excellent and most of all value for money 10/10. Best Indian in my area at the moment definitely will be back.

Looked forward to my Xmas dinner what a let down had a prawn platter to start with more lettuce than anything else and hardly any sauce on it poor then had the traditional Xmas dinner which was 2 Turkey slices the veg was cold brussel sprouts where solid and the chppolatas where burnt then had the Xmas pudding very small portion which was ment to have brandy sauce on it instead it was custard think they should just stick to Indian food thought they struggled with the influx of customers will go back for there Indian food as this is excellent but they need to rethink there traditional Xmas menu yours very sorry Gordon Scott

We have recently took over the operation of this premises, Home currently serves burger menu only, however from Friday the 7th August we will be serving a 2 and 3 course set menu for £6.95 and £8.95 along with our burger selection. With a full menu change on the cards for the near future. Thank you for the support and patience during this transition period.
Three of us arrived for lunch. Ordered 3 steak baguettes 2 with chips. Meals arrived very quickly. Well presented and full of steak strips and some onions. Chips crispy and tasty(unusual nowadays). Young lady long dark hair who delivered meal was friendly as was man behind bar. Excellent value for money surprised how quiet it was (pity). Have been before a few times and am always impressed with meals and prices here. Perhaps menu could be a little more comprehensive but maybe its quality of food and not choice that's important really. Will be back again and keep on serving the generous portions at these prices please !!!

Small talk is a small coffee/tea shop at harbourside in Irvine. They provide A really good breakfast and lunch and the cakes are all home made. The view of the harbour is lovely too. The staff are great and provide great service, nothing is too much trouble.
I was down in the area and popped in for coffees to go,cakes looked so good had to have them. Great value

This hotel/ restaurant has recently been reopened under new management. They've done it out really plush and nice. So I had high hopes for it and took my family there for a meal. We came away very disappointed. Although the prices were reasonable the food was very poor.garlic bread is served loaded with bright red cheese, the pasta is in tasteless watery sauce and the chicken rubbery, the steamed chocolate pudding turned out to be a rock hard brownie, it seemed to be both stale and overbaked. I was offered 3 scoops of ice cream "to help it go down" (!). One of our party had the pate which had a curious twang to its taste and she was then ill that night. For £44 I expect better, I was offered no compensation for my bad dessert and when we wanted to pay I had to search through the whole building to find the staff and still was not successful! Also while we were eating a staff member decided to start cleaning the dining room which not only is not hygienic but made a lot of noise. The owner was very sweet and the setting lovely but unless they improve the food I won't be returning.
