Kayenta (Navajo: Tó Dínéeshzheeʼ) is a U.S. census-designated place (CDP) which is part of the Navajo Nation and is in Navajo County, Arizona. The population was 5,189 at the 2010 census. Kayenta is located 25 miles (40 km) south of Monument Valley and contains a number of hotels and motels which service visitors to Monument Valley. Like other places on the Navajo Nation, it is illegal to serve alcohol. Arizona does not observe Daylight Time; however, the Navajo reservation does.

I keep going back because they are food people, and the quality of the food reflects that. Interesting local and regional dishes. Like spicy? They can bring it!!!

This restaurant is the breakfast space in the Hampton Inn in Kayenta, Arizona. In the evenings it transforms into Reuben Heflin and serves dinner. It is a subdued place that offers Native American, Mexican American and New Mexican staples. I had the green Chile stew, which at $26 was rather pricey for a stew that contained very little pork and suffered from too much thickener. It was served with fry bread. The touch of placing a whole roasted poblano Chile in the bowl was nice. My wife's vegetable fajitas turned out to be a generous serving of peppers, onions and squash (and canned olive slices) on a sizzling platter. The house-made salsa was very good. Because the motel and restaurant are on the Navajo reservation no alcohol is served. Given the limited choices in Kayenta, Reuben Heflin is okay, but don't set your expectations too high.

On our way to Monument Valley we passed a sign about 100km from Kayenta advertising the BK and the Navajo Code Talkers display. Well, there was no way I was missing this. I had read about them years before.
We were not disappointed. I have never spent so long at a BK. Even managed to get the seat right next to the display. There weren't many people there so we had a pretty uninterrupted view. I know the BK is owned by the son of a Code Talker, but what a great way to honour them. Must be the only BK containing a museum!
Don't miss this if you are driving through.

Our guide at Monument Valley recommended this place and it did not disappoint. The fry bread was awesome! We had the Navajo taco and the Navajo beef sandwich. We got there right as breakfast was over and everyone’s breakfast looked delicious. Lots of locals and hardly any tourists so you know it’s good!

There isn't a great amount of food choices in Kayenta but Pizza Edge provide decent enough pizzas. The staff worked hard, it was quite busy, with good humour. The choices were ok and the pizzas cooked nicely. From the outside it looks a bit run down but I'm glad we saw beyond that.

We were staying across town in another hotel, but this place seemed to be the only one still serving after 9pm other than the fast food joints. And we were very glad that it was! We were greeted by the friendliest server we experienced anywhere on our US trip, she advised us on the best dishes to order (we did, and they were incredible). The food (and indeed the restaurant) had a Navajo theme, and the dishes were outstanding, and the portions so large I couldn't even manage half of my dessert. I had the chicken fajitas, which were delicious and came with so many accompaniments I could barely manage three-quarters of them. The 'Navajo-style' bread and honey was delicious, but the size of a pizza - again I couldn't finish! The service throughout was so good, our experience here was absolutely top drawer. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

Writing a review about a Subway seems awkward. However, after reading the reviews of the other choices on a Sunday night... Subway it was!
Sits back off the road behind McDonald's and BurgerKing and next to the grocery store.
The store was clear. Staff was polite but not overly friendly.
After all, it is a Subway. You know what to expect and this one delivered exactly that.
Good experience

5 McDonald’s in a row. Got what we asked for, sausage and egg biscuit, sausage, egg and cheese McMuffin and 2 large sweet teas. Asked for mustard on the order and we got it. Friendly people, good fast food and reasonable prices.

On Sunday, there are few restaurants open in Kayenta. The Wagon Whee in Kayenta Monument Valley Inn offers the fullest menu of nutritional choices, or so it seems. We were seated quickly and our order was taken shortly thereafter. When my dining partner's Navajo taco arrived, I was told that the kitchen had run out of trout, followed by a pleasant smile. We decided to share this full plate of well made food. Fry bread anytime is comfort food and filling; it was topped with chilli and an assortment of vegetables: lettuce, tomato, olives, onions and peppers. The bill came without an inquiry for desert, which we had planned for, but the menu was limited to apple pie and lava cake. well made food, but confusing service. pleasant atmosphere.

I had never been to a place where you park, give your order and they bring it to the car, we have drive thru but nothing like this. The milkshakes are really good especially the chocolate.
