Everyone here was especially friendly! I enjoyed going here just to meet the staff!
The food is pretty down-to-earth, home-style cooking. The Rosemary potato bread was heavenly!! The smelt? Well, better stick to when they are actually in season! Lots of vegetarian offerings, but you have to ask!

Rustic decor with fishing being the main visual. Friendly and welcoming staff. Casual atmosphere
My wife & stayed in Kalkaska for the bike ride around Torch Lake. We decided to avoid Traverse City & hang out in Kalkaska. We ate dinner & breakfast @ Trouttown. We were full & happy on both occasions. We had the best fish sandwich ever & I love fish sandwiches. I order them in almost every restaurant I frequent. Breakfast was excellent. A wide variety of choices; tasty & plentiful. All that prices are reasonable & service was outstanding. Eat at TT you won’t be disappointed.

This was just average at best. a bit over priced. Fairly good service. We had breakfast there, the usual breakfast meal. The wives biscuits and gravy needed to be heated up. We sent it back, and not much better.

Randomly picked G's heading down from Petoskey when my young teens were hungry for dinner. Very impressed. Comfortable for a family but also has a full bar. Got 2 different salads, bread sticks and pizza, all very good. We all loved their crust. Would go there if G's was in my hometown!

Nico's has great oven baked subs as well as great pizza's. You can order a head and come pick up, or come in and pickup. It's usually only a ten minute wait and they have a couple chairs to sit on. They also do delivery. I usually come in, order, and do a quick errand and it's ready when I return.
The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get.

Was up on the trails with the family on the trails with the ATV's. They welcomed us even though we were dusty and dirty. The food was great, they served wraps, burgers, pizza, the homemade jalapeno poppers were amazing! They have a large outdoor area they had entertainment. The bar area was a large horseshoe sit up bar. They had a few beers on tap. Only downfall they had one bathroom, so wait could be long.

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast because it was highly recommended by locals at a gas station. Boy! We weren't disappointed!!! The food was so delicious! And HUGE portions! You will be very full! We really loved the homemade sourdough bread they used for toast. Super delicious!!! If we pass through town again on our way to/from Traverse City, we will definitely stop here again :)

A bar with great food. A friend that across the road from The Ole Soul suggested their fish. I had the salmon and my wife chose the perch. Both were very well prepared, and served with fries made in house. My wife really enjoyed her perch, she had not had perch since her father used to catch it and bring it home. My salmon was well cooked throughout, the fries were delicious. Our waitress and the bartender were both very friendly and professional.

I and two business guests had a delicious ribeye, perfectly cooked, baked potato. A very solid beer selection, big wood tables, comfortable, friendly, and local atmosphere. The meal was superb and really reasonable prices. I highly recommend this place for a hearty, delicious meal. The shrimp were extremely delicious and he sauce perfect !

I go to Burger King more often than I should. I love their Whoppers and feel they are a good price for your buck, but probably not the best choice if you are watching your calories and weight.
