Nine of us went for an evening meal. A nice looking restaurant with good decor and Seating for over 50 people. It had tables and comfortable upholstered booths which would take six diners. The quite extensive menu offered a wide range of meals, with an additional children's menu. Prices were reasonable and as expected. As there were 9 in our group we booked so we got one table, but being a Monday night it was quiet.
The menu has humorous explanations, and helpfully advised that meals took 30 minutes to serve. Service was prompt and courteous. Meals were well presented, plentiful and tasteful. Only exception was a minor ingredient that appeared to be Bok Choy which was a bit tough. We enjoyed our meals and the good service provided. The test is always " would we go back?" Yes we would.

We've been complaining lots about the lack of a good curry since leaving the UK so our friends brought us here.
Loved it!! The Lahori kebabs to start with were very tasty with a nice amount of spice. We then shared a beautiful chicken Bhuna, tasty butter chicken, a great lamb saag wala and a lamb madras with a bit too much kick for me but very good! Mains come with enough rice and the garlic naans we ordered were lovely.
The restaurant is BYO but can still purchase a beer and the staff were excellent! Very friendly and created a nice atmosphere. We'll definitely be back with more Brits in tow!

The only Japanese restaurant in North Canterbury, located upstairs adjacent to the main supermarket car park in Kaiapoi
For Teppan yaki restaurants in Canterbury there seems to be a standard 'recipe' for how the restaurant is operated and Teppanyaki Takao is no different. Service is quick and food cooked fast on the grill in front of you. We had the prawns and chicken, which were cooked well. The people next to us had the pork but judging from the amount they left behind perhaps not as good as the prawns. Children sitting and the table were entertained by trying to catch fried egg. Overall, a pleasant night out.

OK, firstly this is a review for the Rangiora branch! The food presentation and taste were outstanding. The service was quick and cheerful. It was perhaps a little cool inside, some extra heating might help. I ordered the Ginger chicken ($17) and received a huge portion with a separate portion of rice shaped in a loveheart. All of other four diners at my table enjoyed their meals as much as I did.

I was visiting family in Kaiapoi, New Zealand, and to celebrate my grandson’s 21st birthday, our family of six had breakfast at Rivertown Cafe. Wow. What delicious dishes on the menu, and the meals were exceptional. I chose Eggs Benedict, and it has to be one of the tastiest I have ever had! Others in the group had the same, plus a few other equally as delicious choices. I wouldn’t hestitate to recommend this restaurant.

Coffee Culture is finally part of the historic town of Kaiapoi and where better to be than in Kaiapoi's very own iconic Blackwell's department store. Chris & Mark Sutherland are thrilled to be bringing the South Island's favourite espresso coffee to town and their beautiful store is the perfect spot to catch up with friends, pop in for a pick-me-up or have a leisurely lounge over a latte in the sun (weather permitting of course). Delicious snacks and desserts accompany a great range of hot and cold drinks and are served by some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. Come see us soon.
Coffee culture has been around for a while and some of them are looking tired--not this one. So many of their options are gf, df etc. They are really stepping up and considering all customers especially the hard to cater for ones like myself.
Hubby is just happy with their chocolate slices and good coffee and the sprog likes the eats. We keep going back most weeks as everyone is looked after here and the decor always looks inviting and new.
I'm a fan of the g.f loaf with spinach and feta.

Striving to be Kaiapoi number one destination. From breakfast to lunch to snacks and dinner. a casual place with kid friendly playground, pop in for a coffee and cake or a refreshing beer after work . A nice night out with the family or we can cater for big groups, nothing is too much trouble Jagz. So hope to see you soon.
Went with a group of 10. We started with the mixed platter, very ordinary and over salted. However, our mains were fantastic. Half of us had the lamb which was perfectly cooked, moist and pink, and delicious. Liquor coffees were great too. Good waiting staff, Limited wine list but with some good choices.

Tikka Talk has a great menu with the usual Indian fare but unlike some Indian restaurants the meals have lots of meat and vegetables. Their platters are the best around. For a couple, a platter and one dish is a decent sized meal. The service is also very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is nicely decorated in a modern style, and the parking is excellent.

We eat once a week at Zaafrans as the food is great, service is brilliant and the people are friendly and always go the extra mile. Mouth starts watering when I think of the lamb and chicken over Lebanese Cous Cous and roasted veggies.... hmmmm :)
