We are a family owned restaurant focused on Southern comfort cuisine. Our goal is to serve delicious food with a small town charm.
I absolutely love both date night and solo trips here. The food is always incredible and the staff is amazing! The owners really did wonders with this place and Elkin is so lucky to have Southern on Main!

We arrived at 9:45 pm, mere minutes before closing. On a long road trip, we were so relieved to be able get an excellent dinner. My husband had the all-day breakfast with pork chop and apples-exactly what he wanted. I had the steak and it was perfect. Staff were attentive and friendly.

You have to try it too see how great it is. The peanut butter mocha is absolutely the best. So lucky to live in Elkin and have this treasure so close by. If you are traveling take the time only a mile or so from the interstate and check out Dirty Joe's. They have coffee, hot and iced, a variety of teas, pastries, etc.

Its in a strip mall, smallish, plain and bustling with locals happily greeting one another. The Caesar looked a little wilted but tasted fine. The steak though was perfectly cooked & seasoned. It disappeared quickly along with the sweet potato, one of a number of possible sides. Good food, well executed and nicely presented. The Hershey bar cake was a sweet ending - just right.

The calamari was very good ! The waitress was very nice and attentive. I ordered the Sea food trio, My wife ordered the Crab meet patties. The salad was very nice, on the large side. But are food was just warm The baked potatoes were not completely done and the were just warm also. The food looked very good, but it either sat in the window too long or came from the kitchen that way. We went out of our way to try this place, very disappointing.

While we all have bad days, this is the second time we’ve tried to eat there and not escaped without incident. Each person’s food came out with significant gaps in time delivered and confusion over what was ordered. One person in the group received a cold entree that had to be sent back and another received her food 30 minutes after the rest of us, with one explanation being that they needed to ‘find it and would reheat it.’ Seriously. Lie next time—but don’t tell us you’re going to toss a burger under a heat lamp after it was forgotten. And comp your mistake. It would’ve gone a long way.
Yes I understand that serving a large table is taxing—half of us present had current or past restaurant experience—we understand being busy. That being said, the service today was absolutely abysmal. Even the check drop off was messed up. Add a 40.00 auto gratuity and you have a group of people who wish they’d gone anywhere else for lunch.

I had been out of town 2 months with my wife meeting up with me on Long Island NY and again in West Branch MI. Her leave time was interrupted by the needs of the Navy again. On the way back to SC we stopped for a meal in Jonesville NC. Always on the look out for a non chain / mom & pop venue we spied THEO's FAMILY RESTAURANT on google. Super, we had to also be cautious as I was pulling a small trailer. In a strip mall with a movie theater we found ample parking and another wonderful location to dine on the road. Large, spacious, with wonderful murals on the walls, we were seated quickly by the friendly hostess. Drinks were brought quickly to our booth and we agonized over the large menu as to what to select. I say agonized as as I mentioned we were on the road, heading home. The menu was full of entries and dishes to satisfy anyone. I wanted a larger portion than I should eat while driving so I enjoyed only half of my "THEO's Special" toasted sub with home made chips. I love home made potato chips so I did order a second helping. YUM... The sub was prepared fresh, full of meat and delicious as were the chips. My wife had the Chicken scampi. It looked and smelled wonderful but as per the norm she wouldn't share it with me... : ( ... The food was delicious, service wonderful, and we left happy. I wish it were closer to Charleston. The next night I finished my sub, almost as good the first day. A couple of reviewers seemed more concerned as to the serving of alcohol rather than the the meal and location. I do not remember if they served alcohol at all as we were "on the road". That you would be so critical for no wine is a little much to me. I also enjoy beer or wine with my meals but it isn't the most important portion of the meal. All in all THEO'S is a wonderful family restaurant that we will visit again on the road.

What a find! One never expects to find such a great find outside of some large metropolitan area with a large Asian population. Yet, here it is a fine Thai restaurant in a small city. Pick any dish on the menu. You cannot go wrong! The noodle dishes are excellent. The duck dishes are great, too. They have an extensive beer and wine menu. The building is not ostentatious and the decor is simple. The atmosphere is relaxing and the service is top-notch. In a restaurant it is always best to be overawed by the food. Really stop early and stop often. You will not be disappointed.

We had never been in this chain before but were in the area and wanted some fried chicken. We ordreed fried chicken, seasonsed fries, and coleslaw. All was good. The chicken has a really nice coating--kind of spicy--and really large pieces. If you're in the area don't hesitate.

What a special little bistro right in the center of Elkin. The Chicken Salad was wonderful. We also tried the Cornbread Salad that was a taste treat everyone must try. The cookies are also yummy. Can't wait to visit again.
