Open late Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Thanksgiving until New Year's Eve. Come see the fantastic Christmas Lights!<br>Thank you for your business! Fantastic coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, hot Ghirardelli chocolate and caramel. We also have cold Frappuccino's and smoothies. Come visit for awhile on the patio. Check out the home decor, metal yard art and gifts in the Black Spur Emporium on site! Free WI-FI.
We know the shtick of the barrista is to be grumpy but he came across more rude than anything else. We ordered coffee and hot chocolate and asked if they recommended anyplace nearby for breakfast, they said no but we could go to a Mexican restaurant if we wanted. We found out later one block away was a delicious place for breakfast (East Main Grill))--- see my next review on this.
Coffee was mediocre and the hot chocolate was missing chocolate to make it a rich tasting - I did ask for the dark chocolate.
The patio housed an interesting assortment of door.wall handles and cut metal figures (sun, rooster, etc)

Two friends, my husband and I went to the East Main Grill on a Friday the first weekend of December. We arrived early (5:00pm) because in the past we arrived at 6:30pm and had to wait about 90 minutes for a table. When we left at 6:30 this year, there were plenty of tables available. I ordered the honey pecan chicken that came with choice of two sides $14.00 . My husband ordered the bacon cheese burger that came with fries $9.00 . My friends ordered chicken fried steak that came with two sides $14.00 . Drinks were extra. Our meals were great but a little overpriced. Our waitress was fantastic. She was a good worker and very friendly. The tables and chairs were clean and comfortable. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere. The East Main Grill is only one block from the courthouse and PEC headquarters, so it was a great location (near all the Holiday lights). We will return.

They have such a great variety and the prices are reasonable. Wish they had more tables and chairs. But I highly recommend this place, everything I've tried on their menu is great! They also have pup cups for a dollar, my dog also loves this place.

A BrewPub nestled in the TX Hill Country across from the Historic Courthouse in Johnson City. Texas Sized Hospitality.
This should have been a 4 star. Good Service, good house beer and good food. Got a 2 star as an hour later we both got sick. Thankfully it was the stay close to the bathroom for the rest of the day. It ruined our Fredericksburg experience. I am guessing it was the salad as besides the beer it was the only thing we ate in common.

My wife and I dropped by on a Sunday afternoon in July. The good news is the food was delicious. I ordered a strawberry sundae and she had a vanilla latte. Both were very good especially on a warm summer day (the day before we had dropped by and ordered a Jurassic Smash Blizzard and a Pecan Turtle Blizzard respectively).
Things went well on Saturday, but on Sunday the staff was slow to clean up messes made by customers. The other bit of bad news on Sunday is that available staff members in the back did not seem inclined to assist the young lady at the service counter when the line backed up. At one point a group of about 10 to 12 people walked in the door adding themselves to the three or four already in line.
The waiting time to order became obviously too long yet no one from the back ever attempted to assist. I was seated in a location from which I could watch the other employees, and they appeared more interested in chatting among themselves than assisting with customers during a peak time.
This saddened me and I even commented on the situation to my wife. The bottom line is that the food was good but the service and the attention to customer needs and to facility cleanliness could use some improvement.

Located right on Hwy. 281 with small parking lot and was very crowded. May be only fast food place in this town. Took a bit to place the order but order was filled correctly. The burger was just okay and they serve the steak fries rather than the skinny fries. The restaurant could used some cleaning and the bathroom certainly needed attention too. Workers were all working but none were in too big of a hurry:) They basically did there job in their own time and not really too friendly either.

Stopped here for lunch on the way to Fredericksburg. Unassuming building. The menu is nice with a 8-10 lunch selections. The offerings where very interesting and very well prepared. The waitress explained that the owner is a classically trained big city chef. We had the fish of the day (broiled 'Black Drum', a Gulf of Mexico fish) and Chicken Fried Chicken. Both were delicious and very reasonably priced. An excellent choice of restaurant.

We parked on back and walked around to front door. Outside on the side is where the magic happens. Several smokers all fired up. You walk in and order from the counter. The staff was very friendly and happy. So nice when your greeted with happy people. We ordered sandwiches. Pork and chopped beef. Huge sandwiches and very tasty. They have all kinds of sides but we just got chips and iced tea. Clean place. When we left there was a pretty long line but they were getting severed quickly. Good BBQ!!

What a great stop! We were driving from Austin to Kerrvile but just needed a "little" something to eat. We drove by this place but it looked interesting so we turned around and went back. We definitely were not sorry.
It's cute. The menu wasn't large but actually perfect sized. The man behind the counter was very pleasant.
There were three of us and between us we ordered sandwiches and salads. We were all happy with our lunch and glad we stopped. We would definitely stop again.
Loved the place!

We pulled in Johnson City about 8:30pm and was pleased to see ElCharro still open. Atmosphere is a little iffy but the food was good and plenty of it. Pastor look really good, crispy taco where crispy. I had the cheese enchiladas very tasty. Enjoy
