Nice pastries and icecream. Try the specialty tres leches, delicious indeed!Good coffee as well.
They make great home-made whole-wheat bread which is pretty hard to find in Nicaragua! Tastes good- but feels very healthy. They usually have a pretty good variety of desserts, including cheese cake. Their doughnuts are delicious if you get them HOT! There coffee is not very impressive, which is sad as Jinotega is at the heart of coffee country!

Delicious cuban restaurant in Jinotega. Nice change from the nicaraguan food. The chicken is especially nice and soft. It doesn't have a sign ouside now, but coming from the 'cathedral lane' go 5 blocks north, take a left and it is the last house on this block on the rightside of the street. The owner Dona Mari-Lena is a very nice lady, the service is outstanding and very fast. Superclean kitchen and establishment! It is a bar as well, and a nice place to have a beer, or rum and chat with some locals. Closed on tuesdays.
I went there with a group of friends, and the only food they had available was the "lechon" young pork. This was OK with us, because we came here precisely to taste this dish. It came with a very tasty "yuca" and the plate was really outstanding. The atmosphere is different, the service very friendly. Had a great time, I would recommend it to everyone!

Great, superb coffee in a nice coffeebar in the marketarea. They also sell some of the ceramica negra from the women's cooperative from las curenas.
Every time I come to Nicaragua, I go home with at least ten bags of coffee from this place. You must choose carefully from the offerings in the dessert case, as it can many times be a crap shoot. The coffee, on the other hand, never disappoints. They have many different roasts available for purchase, and the espresso-based drinks are done right.

We are a countryside restaurant, where families go out of the routine of the city and can enjoy the panoramic views. Thus we have a very varied menu for demanding tastes. Adequate facilities, trained personnel to meet the requirements of our customers both domestic and foreign. We have a privileged location, because we stand only 2km from the city of Jinotega, on the highway that leads to Matagalpa, only 200 mtrs from the junction of the road Guayacan, both tracks busy.

Stopped by each day for a latte and one of the assortments of sweets and breads. Tried the cinnamon roll, whichwas served warm. Also tried the conch rolls. Sweet sugar dusting on top and soft delicious bread. Was saving for a late night snack but couldn't resist tearing off a few bites and then it was gone. Met Don Luis son of Don Colocho. Great host!

This was a good traditional Nica buffet. Simple tasty budget food. Our only disappointment was that there was not the salads and vegetables we have begun to dream about after a few weeks in Nicaragua. They did gladly substitute the fried plantain or banana for extra veggie or salad, though we got a "why do that?" sort of look. But the food was tasty.
