A group of friends enjoyed dinner together on a Thursday evening. The interior decor is nice, but the outside view of the river is gorgeous! We enjoyed an appetizer of dates with bacon, salads and entrees. A majority of our party got the fettuccine alfredo - which was delicious. I got the tortellini (which was good, but rich - I probably would not order it again). Another got the chicken parmesan and it was the largest piece of chicken ever! Everyone enjoyed the meal and the service was great!

Oh my, why have I waited so long to return to this Louisville icon? We were there for an anniversary celebration. Everything was perfect. The food was amazing. I had the lamb chops and I am still thinking about them. Service started slow but once it got going it was flawless. Hope I don't have to wait so long to return. Can't afford this regularly but it definitely is at the top of my special occasion restaurants.

Folks
If you want some excellent food not too far from the bridges on the Indiana side, then call this place and make some reservations. The service from our server, Wesley, the salads, and finally the main entree were all rated A++. A must try is their potato cake and their Surf and Turf. Looking forward in returning here in summer.

The Mayan Cafe is a small, intimate space. Photos of our chef's village in Mexico cover the walls. We serve authentic Mayan food in an atmosphere of simple elegance.
The food at Mayan Cafe is unlike any other restaurant - fresh, creative, and most of all, delicious. I have eaten here many times, even used MC to cater a family wedding, and I have never been disappointed. Whatever you order is beautifully presented with care and attention to detail. No doubt it is freshly prepared. The drink menu is terrific too, offering authentic and creative options. The dining room is cozy and intimate. All around delightful. Money well spent and a great date night.

Read so much about this place I had to go even if alone. Made a reservation and had first class treatment from the moment I walked in the door. En Route Pinot, Chesapeake oysters and filet special...fabulous. Excellent service, great ambiance, a little expensive and worth every penny. Got to get back here and take my wife

Service was great. William was very helpful and attentive. It was a group of 4 of us and he was able to answer all our beer and food questions. My uncle said that his Hot Brown was the best he has ever had. I loved the tacos. Beer was good as well. It was freezing inside and we never took our jackets off the entire meal.

The Brown Hotel is probably the most impressive of several classic old hotels in the area. Thus, the lobby setting is grand. Piano music was available the night we were there. The food is excellent as well. Well prepared and presented. Absolutely worth a trip into downtown.

First I would like to mention how great our server Justin H was. He was funny, friendly, and very attentive. After eating we sat outside for a while enjoying the lights of the city (Louisville) and the lights on the bridges.
I wasn't very hungry so I had the wedge salad (with ranch dressing instead of the blue cheese dressing and chunks) and it was very good with the breads they served. My husband had the NY Strip and when I tasted it it was very tender and tasty.
After we were finished eating I decided I might be a bit more hungry than I thought so I asked for the dessert menu. When I saw the picture of the Pikes Peak Pie (chocolate graham cracker crust, chocolate and peanut butter ice cream, crushed reeses peanut butter cups, and peanut butter sauce) I knew I had to have it. The best part was my husband doesn't like chocolate and peanut butter together so I had the entire thing to myself and it was awesome.

At Mussel and Burger Bar we specialize at adding gourmet qualities to familiar menu staples. Each item has it's own unique flavor profile created and assembled by our Chef/Owners Fernando and Yaniel Martinez. They've studied culinary arts all over the world, and still spend countless hours perfecting their craft, to give this city some remarkably delicious food. We are so honored and happy to be a part of Louisville's food scene, and hope you like it!
My wife very much enjoyed her mussels. Had it not been for the very good and plentiful sweet potato fries, my hamburger was so small, I would have left hungry. As advertised, the meat was excellent and perfectly (medium rare) prepared. I had requested that it be served without a bun on greens. There was no bun, & the "greens" amounted to one piece of lettuce. Absolutely no complaints about the quality.
