Cosy pub with open fires going. Three course meal was excellent. Pate to start was good, beef roast dinner with veg was fantastic. Apple pie with clotted cream was just right to finish. Great quality and loads of quantity. Real ales available, I tried the Salcombe which was v. Good.

We went as a group to Loddiswell, where we had rented a cottage for 4 nights...local pub was the Cali Arms and what a wonderful country pub it is!!! Food, was superb and reasonably priced, staff were friendly and very helpful... Overall would rate this pub very highly and would definitely return.

I decided to register at the website so we could order for Delivery online. Everything arrived in a reasonably timely fashion but I was disappointed not to get any salads to go with the starters or main Tikka course. You would normally expect to receive them as part of the meal I believe.
The menus say free Delivery to Ivybridge but we got charged for it, although there was a discount of slightly more than the charge for Delivery, so not sure how that all works.
Enjoyed the food we had but missed the salads. Will try again though but I don't think you should have to order salads as an extra to go with starters or main Tikka dishes.

I felt I had to write this review following a first class Sunday lunch enjoyed by seven us yesterday. This was the first time that my wife and myself had visited the F. and L., the birthday boy choosing the venue for his celebratory lunch....MoreThank you for your kind review. It was a pleasure to serve you and we are happy that you enjoyed your 65th birthday lunch with us. Kind regards, Sue Savery

Modern English gastro-pub with traditional and European cuisine
Went with the family to the White Hart. Great welcome, friendly staff. It was a pleasant surprise to see the menu with large text which really helps when you've forgotten your glasses! I ended up having the fish cake starter which was superb and the beer battered fish. It was the best meal I've had in ages. Well done to all for a great experience.

I was holidaying in a village near Ivybridge and wasn't expecting too much as all three of us love particularly hot, spicy dishes. However, our expectations were exceeded as the service and food were wonderful. Each dish had a fusion of spices and heat to die for, and the portions were extremely generous. We also chose an okra side and, again, this was delicious. The waiters were so helpful, and the mouthwatering dishes melted in your mouth, and would lead to a very quick second visit, I am sure.

Never eat here I ordered a curry and rice and that's all I had eaten that day I saw my meal a few hours later and was extremely poorly for 48hours after, I thought the food smelt funny before I ate it I'm just glad my children never had anything.

I took two family members to Sunday lunch at the Treby Arms.
It's slightly tricky to find but persevere it's worth it. It's an old pub, not that atmospheric from the outside, but lovely inside and laden with history.
We had the traditional Sunday roast (beef) and it was really very good, plus a cross-section of Deserts which all went down well. It errs (erred - more later) slightly on the side of haute-cuisine presentation, but the portions are fine, and when we asked for more vegetables they were happy to provide.
The service was good, and the wine selection reasonable and not too expensive.
Since we visited I understand the Chef at the time has left, and the indications seem to be that they are going for a more 'everyday' menu. In my view a shame as this is (was) definitely amongst the best food in Devon, but the owners have to do what they think is commercial - and I can see from some comments on TA that what they have been doing is not to everyone's 'taste'. Hey ho. A Michelin star can be a burden as well as a boon.
I would definitely have gone back, but I think I'll wait a little to see how things settle down.

Standard pub food at a premium price, Main courses were a bit ordinary, disappointing, and rather greasy. Deserts at £6.25 were good but that is a pound more than most pubs in the area so we expected something special. Drinks were over priced very average wines, plonk. G & T had far to much ice in it. The environment was very pleasant as were the staff but I would go to one of the many other pubs in the area in future and save myself about 20% on my bill.
I would recommend a starter and a desert with beer and leave out the main course and wine.

A warm welcome and cosy atmosphere awaits at this lovely pub. Found out it's just been taken over by new management and they seem to be doing a wonderful job! Incredibly well kept beer, lovely cosy atmosphere and lovely friendly service, what's not to like?...MoreDear ekiling, Thank you very much for taking the time to post such wonderful comments.
