Downtown Indianola close to B.B. King Museum. Restaurant has been featured in "Southern Living" magazine, Turner South Network, and on "Food Nation."
On balance we enjoyed our visit to the Crown, the service was very attentive, and we loved the fresh bread that was on constant offer. But to be truthful we were a little disappointed with the catfish, which was the main reason why we chose to eat here. I had the catfish cakes, which were extremely bland, the taste was only enlivened by the excellent salsa. My wife had the catfish Alison, this was far from bland, but the strong flavours completely overwhelmed the fish. It was very tasty, but we both went away feeling that we still hadn't yet tasted proper catfish. However, for dessert I foraged around the pie table. The choice is extensive and its really difficult to know where to start and even harder to know when to finish.

Great atmosphere and good service. I've been a regular for several months and plan on keeping it up. I highly recommend the drunken shrimp, the shrimp alfredo and the beer battered fries! Its kinda pricey though, but the portions are huge.

After a wonderful visit to the BB King museum which is very close-by, my friend and I had a memorable visit at Betty's Place. The food, mainly southern comfortable fare, was excellent. Betty and Reverend Michael could not have been more joyful to interact and converse with. EVERYTHING homemade and yummy. Try Betty's pound cake which is tops. Great experience for both palatet and mind!

I grew up in Indianola, and Peasoup's has been around almost as long as I have been. Thomas and Brenda have done a superb job of continuing the tradition begun by his parents. When I return to visit my hometown, the toughest decision for me always is whether to have the fried shrimp or floating hamburger, my two all-time favorites. Their fried shrimp are unsurpassed by even fine, fancy restaurants. The floating hamburger is served atop a plate of chili. Their salads, hamburgers, ice cream and malts are ALL divine, all served with a smile. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

Stopped by to try some a crawfish dinner. It is family owned and operated and from the minute we walked in the door we were welcomed with genuine hospitality. We had a lot of questions because we had never had a craw daddy before. Gary, the owner, took the time to walk us through making a fabulous platter of crawfish from start to finish.

I guess when your only other competition in the region is Pizza Hut, then anything will be fantastic, as evidenced by the reviews. The pizza is not bad, but if you're a pizza lover and have had great pizza, then this place probably won't meet your standards. All that said, they make a fairly decent pie, with some creative pizza combo toppings. Sauce is very bland, though. Would I go back? Yes, if want pizza and know that my only other option is Pizza Hut.

Run down restaurant in need of updating. Service was just "ok" and food was mediocre. You get what you pay for. Booth seating was uncomfortable and the lighting was rude. Can't say anything positive about the experience.

We decided 2 visit one night as we passed through headed home.. although at 1st glance when entering the building the place looks huge but seating was limited .. there were a few booth on each side and a large open area filled with flimsy tables and chairs. .. The service was VERY slow. And the food lacked flavor. .. My husband had his food a full 10 minutes b4 our waiter finally walked by and realized I still hadn't received mine...I don't think we will b going back. ..
