Nestled in the heart of downtown Idabel,OK. Jake's Brickhouse Grill specializes in providing great local cuizine for an excellent value.
Jakes in downtown Idabel serves up very good food. Good size casual restaurant. They have a good variety of food, I wouldn’t call this cheap eats actually some of the steaks can be expensive. Most menu dinner are below 12 dollars. The service was also good as they were busy when we ate there. I really loved their thin French fries.

Business in Idabel bought us to this coffee shop. Although coffee shop may be a misnomer since they only offer one type of coffee and for me it was not very good. I like strong coffee and this was not. We read reviews about all day breakfast which is another misnomer because it closes at 2 pm. We wanted biscuits and gravy but they were out of biscuits. A restaurant that prides itself on all day breakfast should not run out of food. I wanted fried mushrooms with my burger and they no longer offer mushrooms even though they remain on the menu. The burger comes with standard potato chips which I dislike. Offering chips with a burger means no substituting a side dish. The side dish of mushrooms I wanted to order would have added more than $4.00 to the tab. So ordering became a dissatisfying experience. I ordered the Mel's burger that everyone raves about, left my chips on the plate and filched some of Mary's onion rings, which were pretty good. My burger was very good but even with jalapenos needed a bit more seasoning. A little salt made it better. Mary's patty melt she rated just good because it left a small puddle of grease. My clients cheese burgers were huge and both said they were good so the value of this meal was high. Our two burgers plus onion rings and coffee was just over $13.00. Service was excellent.

We have been to this location 3 times. The first time we went thru the drive-thru for ice cream only. The second we went inside for lunch and found the restaurant dirty and it took a very long time to receive our order, which was wrong, and then it took them a very long time to correct it. The 3rd and FINAL time we stopped in for dinner was hands down one of the WORST experiences we have ever had at a Braums. No joke. I'm almost unable to convey just how disappointed we were in the employee behavior at this location. We ordered, no problem. It was once we received our order when the problems began. When we asked for the order to be corrected the young lady at the register rolled her eyes, turned her back to us, and mumbled something derogatory to another employee. When she was asked to NOT BEHAVE in such a manner she raised her voice and made that annoying clicking sound with her mouth. WOW. Just couldn't believe it. We asked for the manager who came and for the most part was polite and said she would fix the order immediately, asking for 2 minutes, and she would bring out the fix to us. She never showed. We never received the food. On our way out the door we approached the counter where every single employee was standing around talking and laughing together. When I looked at the manager she sarcastically and aggressively shrugged her shoulders and said, "What? Was I suppose to do something for you?" again, WOW. We immediately walked out of the door and made a mental note to NEVER EVER EVER visit this Braums location again. Never. Idabel is a small town folks, and we are so lucky to not live were there is limited places to grab a quick bite to eat. But we will NEVER EVER EVER pick this restaurant as we drive through town again. Never. The staff there is disrespectful, incompetent, and the store is dirty. Drive through town if you can, or pick another restaurant to visit.

This is the place to eat if you are around Idabel. Possibly the best chicken fried steak anywhere. Great attention to detail, great architecture. The owners are devoted to the downtown area and take justifiable pride in their product.

The service at this restaurant is the pits. At one particular time, my wife and I went there to get ice cream, and they had closed 20 mins. earlier than they were schelduled. I told the person at the door that there sign says they were still open for 20 more minutes, and they said "sorry". Also, the place is not very clean, and the times that we went, they seemed to be out of so many items. Not a very good place to go to at all!

Husband had Shrimp Diavolo and I the lasagna. We also had the house dressing on our salads. Delicious! We drove an hour to eat there and we definitely will do it again. Nice and clean. Friendly and fast staff.

The best way to describe this meal is to say that the cheese enchiladas tasted like the beans, which tasted like the rice which tasted like the taco. With my eyes closed I could not tell what I was eating. I'm giving this 3 stars because of good service.

Here's the short of it ... AJs steaks are consistently good and the family that owns is friendly and attentive. It's a no nonsense place, i.e., no frills, décor, fancy napkins, etc., but when you visit you get a moderately priced steak, good baked potato, and fresh salad. Again, don't expect fancy!

Stopped here after checking into hotel and front desked recommended the catfish. We split a Seafood Platter. 6 fried oyster (just so-so, not much flavor) 4 butterflied fried shrimp (not bad) stuffed crab (ok, not great) and 6 catfish fillets (pretty good, crispy outside and flaky inside) salad bar (really good), pinto beans and baked potato. They have a senior menu that the grandparents ordered off. Chicken fry was good size and more meat than breading. $5.99 I believe for kids or seniors. Total bill $39 for 4 of us including a peach cobbler. All in all just average. Wasn't bad, but not worth a special trip.
