Our group of three couples stopped in for lunch after going to the secret lagoon. The buffet has plenty of choices of tasty food including soups, salad items, meat and delicious breads. We were all very impressed with the quality and quantity. It was definitely one of the best deals for eating out in Iceland where restaurants are expensive even for modest fare.

Lovely restaurant and Cafe in Selfoss.
So pleased we found this place. Lovely food & prepared very quickly. Staff very helpful & went out of their way to provide us with English breakfast tea. Pizzas delicious & pasta dishes well worth a try. The cakes were huge and a great selection

Outstanding food from local resources and mostly cooked via the natural hot steam. The fish was one of the best I have had...and I am not a fish lover. Prices match the five star so just close your eyes and enjoy the food. Portions are extremely generous. Breakfast buffet also very nice with fresh options

We ate dinner here, based on a tour book recommendation, and were so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were charmed. It is over 100 years old, (I think they said 1890), built originally as a boarding house for the workers who constructed the nearby bridge. As a restaurant, they have kept the coziness of living spaces, and decorated with a feel for the 1940s, extending the theme even to the background music, which was delightful. We asked for a table by a window for a beautiful view of the river, Bridge, and Mountains. Food was delicious, and service was excellent.

Don't be put off by fact that tour bus stops here (i.e., pre-arrangement between tour operator & service provider, in my experience, can oftentimes mean lower cost & lesser quality) or that it's located in strip center. Wish we'd had more time to sit and have cup of coffee & a sweet, but only enough time to use restroom and grab coffee to go. Coffee was very good, and sweets were eye-appealing - didn't partake. [Excellent rating for food is based on visuals.]
Almar Bakari is clean, nicely decorated and inviting. Servers were efficient with jamming through crowd of people needing to get back on departing bus as fast as possible. No friendly chit chat. Restrooms are technically free and unlocked, but coin box located outside of them, with request for assistance in many languages. I saw not a single person but myself drop a coin in the box. Come on people - what's <$1.00 when you just spent $5 or more for a cup of coffee!

The restaurant at Fakasel Horse Park offers an original Icelandic gourmet menu with great variety of delicious food. The interior has recently undergone a custom remodel to create a unique, warm and cozy atmosphere and our staff adds that special Icelandic touch which will make you feel right at home. Our chef has created an impressive menu featuring the freshest locally-grown ingredients. The result is a menu with a wide selection of delicious food where everyone will find something to their liking. We also offer special lunch menu and children's menu.
We stopped here as part of the golden circle tour and the restaurant offers a nice menu at good prices. The venue itself is very warm and homely and would make a nice stop if on a road trip along the southern coast.

Impromptu visit but super glad we stumbled upon Gottis! Lovely creamy ice cream with loads of tasty toppings to choose from (hot caramel sauce was yummy!). The milkshakes were smooth and thick and the strawberry one was delicious. Nice little pit stop and friendly staff!Thank you for visiting :)

HVER Restaurant is located in Hotel Örk. We offer local and fresh courses. Relax and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere in the countryside. HVER Restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner. Ideal to have before or after a full day of excursions in south Iceland.
It's clear that the restaurant would like to give its guests a fine dining experience, but they can't quite live up to their own ambitions.
Our expectations were high since this seems like a high end restaurant, but the kitchen doesn't quite deliver in the way the food is prepared.
We had to send a dish back to the kitchen. The preparation was better the second time around but one person ended up having finished their meal before the other got served.
While we were there another couple were served undercooked chicken and promptly left the restaurant.

The restaurant is so charming and the staff friendly. They offer a variety of greenhouse grown vegetable dishes, lamb of course, and soups. The soup of the day is self-service from a large steaming pot. There are several vegetarian and vegan options. The vegetarian steak is house made and dense with nuts, grains and deliciousness. They serve a variety of local area brews, coffees and cocktails.
