Huntsville is the fourth-largest city in Alabama, located in the northernmost part of the state. A city with a 200-year Southern heritage, visitors will find activities that celebrate Huntsville’s rich history, as well as attractions that highlight the city’s scientific side. At the Alabama Constitution Village, villagers in period clothing take time from their daily chores to guide you through eight reconstructed Federal style buildings. Younger visitors will love the 150 hands-on activities at the Sci-Quest Hands-on Science Center and older kids will learn what it takes to be an astronaut at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. Looking for outings with a cultural flair? Landmarks such as the Huntsville Botanical Garden and Huntsville Museum of Art are must sees. The National Trust for Historic Preservation named Huntsville to its "America's Dozen Distinctive Destinations for 2010" list.

At the Melting Pot of Huntsville fondue is a fun and interactive dining experience - and for more than three decades, The Melting Pot has defined the niche across the American dining scene. At The Melting Pot, fondue truly becomes a memorable four-course dining experience where patrons can dip into something different - and discover all the ingredients for a unique dining experience including a relaxed atmosphere, private tables, attentive service, fine wines, and signature fondue dinners. The Melting Pot of Huntsville is on the second floor of Bridge Street's northeast corner - just past Brighton Collectibles. It has a patio that overlooks the Westin Huntsville's courtyard. We are open for dinner only from 5 to 10 p.M. Monday-Thursday, 4 to 11 p.M. On Friday-Saturday, and 4 to 9 p.M. On Sundays.
We have been going to "The Melting Pot" since it opened. Before it came to Huntsville, our New Years Eve thing was going to the downtown Nashville location. We did that for several years in a row until it came here. I suppose the novelty wore off. But we still love the food and the atmosphere. We go several times a year.

We had a less than stellar experience at our last Grille 29 visit and reviewed it here.
It's been about a year and we decided to see what had changed.
To our great surprise, Grille 29 improved on our past experience and surpassed our expectations.
We last complained that Grille 29 had screwed up when they ditched the gazpacho and the halibut cheeks, among other popular menu items.
We were very pleased to try their escargot, which was fantastic and their meat and cheese appetizer, which exceeded our expectations. The chef has created an amazing jam with caramelized onions and.... get this ... bacon. It was absolutely fantastic. Kudos to the chef for this amazing creation. We could not stop eating it.
The crab cake entree was absolutely perfect, and we had the rice and edamame succotash as sides.
Our server was Darrell, a fantastic, professional server with the right timing, grace and knowledge of both the wine and food menus.
We are glad Grille 29 surpassed our expectations and we will be back.

This place is in a strip mall, and it's quite small inside, but we went on a weeknight for dinner and were seated right away. The food was good, I had the schnitzel with pan fried potatoes, excellent...the service was nice, but the prices were a bit higher than we expected.

Was visiting in Huntsville and enjoyed my first time to eat at Rosie's Mexican Cantina. The meal was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. I had the Custom Combo Platter with three choices of various enchiladas or tacos with Mexican rice and refried beans for $10.95. As a bonus, it was Wednesday and half-price bottled Mexican beer. I will definitely go back next time I am in Huntsville.

Cotton Row is in a class all by itself -- a truly spectacular dining experience. It is a hands-down favorite for important business meetings, celebratory meals with family and friends, as well as private, romantic meals. Chef James Boyce has a genious mastery of American nouvelle quisine: fresh ingredients from local farms and sources; and an artful blending of flavors to create intriguing, deliciously inventive new dishes. Cotton Row is located in an historical building with an updated, sophisticated architectural design and restrained design that creates a high-end ambience for exquisite meals. There are four different venues -- the main dining room and bar, an inimate wine cellar downstairs, a popular outdoor patio, and several rooms with balconies upstairs that accommodate parties well. Although t is right on courthouse square, there is ample free parking nearby, and free valet parking service, helpful during inclement weather. The wait staff is youthful, attentive, well-informed on the details of every offering on the menu, and impeccably couteous. First class. Pricey, but still a great value.

This is about as good as you can get to Cajun this far from the Mississippi. My only complaint would be the atmosphere. I’d love to hear a little zydeco or Cajun music, or maybe even a little Dixieland; something to remind me of Louisiana. I had the shrimp po boy, which was good. It’s hard to mess up a shrimp po boy. What is difficult is a gumbo, but it was great! They threw in some crawfish tail, chicken, and shrimp in the gumbo as proteins. The roux was a beautiful brown. This is the third time I’ve been there and we will be back.

I like salsa, chips was warm and fresh. Beef burrito was just average as was the beans and rice. They give you a small serving of ice cream which was nice. The service was very lacking at 8:00 at night and they was not busy....MoreSorry, we weren't up to your standards but, would like to speak to you about your experience ...please feel free to call me at your convenience 256-489-5711 asked for me, Phil Sandoval...

Visited Rosie's for dinner and had the Mahi-Mahi tostadas. All of the salad stuff on top was great but the fish was so overcooked it was inedible. The chips provided are great; the salsa is just okay. Will not rush back anytime soon.

On our way to the Marriott for a gaming convention we stopped by for a bite... In a word, exquisite. I had the Jäger Schnitzel with red cabbage and sauerkraut, my fiancee had the Jäger Melt sandwich, but with Gouda instead of Swiss cheese. Our server, Katie, took outstanding care of us, and I look forward to the next time I can visit.
