The Whistle Stop is right beside the Rail Road tracks in Historic Glendale, Ky. Family owned, established in 1975. We serve Southern foods and desserts, made from scratch. We have been voted favorite non franchise restaurant in Ky, and our desserts have been written about in Southern Living. There are a number of shops, all in walking distance, to make a day out of your trip to Glendale.
If you are traveling through, plan on stopping for true Kentucky cuisine. The fried chicken takes 20 minutes but is worth the wait. I had the mini meatloaf which was very moist, but be prepared for for a very sweet tomato sauce. The corn bread is pancake style, but hard to eat the whole serving. Service was impeccable. I liked stopping for lunch. No long lines

2B Thai is a place I'd go more, where it up to me! The staff might very well be the friendliest and most accommodating staff in Etown. The food is perfect, and the owner and staff will help you choose things that will suit your pallet if you're unfamiliar with Thai food.
I like my Thai food "Thai hot", and they make it happen!
Very cool place, very kind staff...and top notch food! Can't beat it!

We stopped in to check out the ice cream selection and ended up buying Smoothies. What a surprise! They were great! We ordered the Peach smoothie and Peach-Mango Smoothie. Both were excellent. Be sure to sign the guest book and pin the map with your hometown.
Oh, by the way, if you like cookies or fudge, this is your place.
Enjoy!

Upon first glance, Ray's Hodgenville Grill looks like it is situated in an old Dairy Queen building. It's not fancy on the outside, but don't be fooled. You will be warmly welcomed, seated at the old fashioned tables with vinyl tablecloths and wooden chairs, and given menus with an appealing array of down-home food, after the specials of the day are explained. The host and hostess are likely Ray and Judy?, the owners, and it is clear that they and their employees take pride in their diner, food, and service. We were most pleasantly surprised. Tender perfectly fried whitefish with delicious onion rings and creamy macaroni and cheese, homemade hot yeast rolls, and a crisp green salad, a generous pulled pork sandwich with another set of rings and firm, tasty fried apples. We had no room left for any of the pies, which sounded delicious. The menu has lots of variety including a hot brown, fried pork chops, minute steaks, and other comfort food. There are also several vegetable sides to choose from. Ray's is a wonderfully quaint diner with friendly service and great food you'll want to go back for.

Cheeseburgers were great. Kids had them without onions and they didn't compare. An older lady was cooking them and said she'd been doing so for 30 years after working at the sewing factory for 36 years. Just a small counter with barstools but there are some park benches outside if you need to eat out there. Beware, you'll smell like grease when you leave.

Old Victorian style home built in 1872. Two stories tall, with bottom floor Resaurant and top floor being Boutique and gift shop. Family owned and operated. Local flavor along with homemade candies, cakes and pies. Accommodations for large or small parties. Dual parking, both on the side and rear across from local Catholic Church. Also, handicabable beside rear of building. Best kept secret in Hardin County
Always a pleasure. Difficult parking, but definitely with the trouble. Wonderful Kentucky hot brown and a unique atmosphere.

What a wonderful hidden gem! Chef Tony creates innovative and delicious dishes. The dinning rooms are decorated with beautiful paintings from local artists. (You can actually buy them too!) The staff is very accommodating and attentive.
Don't come if you are wanting to eat and run. Do come when you want to relax and enjoy the company of your friends! Good food takes time to make! Come for the entire experience!

We enjoy eating here and get enough without getting too much. However, the peanuts and unlimited fresh hot rolls assure us that we will get enough without having to order a larger portion. That isn't true of many similar restaurants which the Texas roadhouse is the best of its kind. We have enjoyed the same menu in a number of locations and at least 6 States, all have a standardized menus, format and pricing. Join the e-club and get a free appetizer with e-mail coupon monthly. Discounted gift cards at restaurant or get up to 4x points at Kroger, or $$ discount at Costco or Sam's. Deserts are good if you have room and all drinks [non-alcoholic] come with refills, but ask for less ice or you'll get mostly ice.

We were staying in Elizabethtown on vacation over the holiday weekend. We found this spot by looking for local barbecue restaurants on TripAdvisor and decided to take the ride to check it out. We were not disappointed. The barbecue sandwiches and coleslaw were amazing. The staff was also friendly, helpful and welcoming. The sign was entertaining as well. We will definitely return if we are in the area again.
